Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 : You Don't Want Karin to Lose Her Mother, Do You?

A moment later.

Uchiha Kai withdrew his gaze from the pile of corpses on the ground.

'I never thought I'd be so well-suited for the world of Naruto. It's my first time killing someone... and I don't feel any discomfort.'

'On the contrary, I even feel a little... excited.'

Uchiha Kai quickly shook his head, suppressing this perverted thought.

Exhaling, Uchiha Kai carried Karin into the house.

Stepping into the room, the light became much brighter, and Uchiha Kai could see the woman's face on the bed clearly.

She bore an eighty percent resemblance to Karin, just more mature.

Unfortunately, due to being exploited by the Kusagakure ninjas for a long time, she had lost a great deal of life force.

Although she looked to be in her 20s, she appeared to be in her 30s, and there were even many white strands in her red hair.

But even so, it couldn't hide the woman's beauty.

Seeing Uchiha Kai enter the room, Karin's mother tried to sit up from the bed.

Unfortunately, her body had no strength. After several attempts, she barely managed to prop herself up by the bedside. Facing Uchiha Kai, she said incoherently.

"Thank you, my lord. Thank you, my lord. Thank you so much!"

As Karin's mother spoke, an undeniable worry appeared in her eyes.

If the Kusagakure ninjas discovered that so many people had died because of her, it was hard to imagine how they would retaliate.

But she had to express her gratitude to Uchiha Kai.

Because Uchiha Kai had killed those Kusagakure ninjas for her sake. She could distinguish that.

Uchiha Kai looked at Karin's mother for a couple of seconds and asked.

"What's your name?"

Karin's mother answered respectfully.

"Greetings, my lord. My name is Sairin, Uzumaki Sairin. My daughter is Uzumaki Karin."

When Karin's mother looked at Karin, a trace of hesitation flashed in her expression. Finally, she gritted her teeth, braced herself, and bowed to Uchiha Kai.

"Although I know this is troublesome, I have an impertinent request," Sairin paused. Seeing that Uchiha Kai was not impatient, she dared to continue.

"I hope that my lord can take my daughter away from Kusagakure. Yes, my daughter is very well-behaved and can serve you, taking care of your daily life."

If it weren't for Karin, Sairin would have long lost the will to live.

Now, her only concern was Karin.

She didn't dare to hope that Uchiha Kai would take her along as well, because she felt that she was a burden.

She was seriously injured, and it was uncertain whether she would even survive.

Now, she only hoped that her daughter could live.

Karin, who was beside them, heard that her mother wanted to send her away. She jumped off Uchiha Kai, pounced on the bed, grabbed Sairin's hand, and cried.

"Mom, Mom, I don't want to leave you."

Sairin didn't answer Karin, only gently stroking her head.

Then, Sairin looked up at Uchiha Kai pleadingly, waiting anxiously for his answer.

But Uchiha Kai did not nod in agreement for a long time.

As time passed, Sairin seemed to understand, and a clear dimness erupted in her eyes.

It was as if the only light in her life had disappeared.

But Sairin forced a smile. "I'm sorry to trouble you, my lord. Thank you for your help."

Uchiha Kai looked at Sairin with complicated feelings. She was clearly in the dark, yet she was still thinking of others.

He lifted the sword in his hand and sheathed it.

"Although I didn't agree to take Karin away, you can take her away."

"I don't think Karin wants to lose her mother either."

Sairin was stunned upon hearing this, not understanding Uchiha Kai's meaning for a moment.

If she could take Karin and leave, she would have left long ago. The problem was, how could a weak woman like her take Karin away from Kusagakure?

But meeting Uchiha Kai's warm smile, Sairin vaguely understood his meaning, and her pupils instantly widened.

Uchiha Kai met Sairin's gaze and nodded affirmatively.

"Instead of me taking Karin away, why don't you and Karin leave here with me?"

"You probably don't want to stay in Kusagakure any longer either."

Sairin thought she had misheard. This news was too surprising and too sudden.

Happiness was within reach, but it made Sairin hesitate, as if she were afraid the bubble would be burst.

"My lord... can I really?"

Uchiha Kai shrugged.

"A mere Kusagakure can't stop me."

As long as Uchiha Kai had time, and without considering the consumption of dōjutsu power, he could wipe out the entire Kusagakure by himself.

But Uchiha Kai had not yet awakened the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.

He wouldn't let his vision decline significantly just for a small Kusagakure.

Just taking Sairin and Karin away from Kusagakure was much simpler.

Receiving Uchiha Kai's affirmation, Sairin continued to thank him.

Uchiha Kai smiled and waved his hand. "Alright, see if there's anything you need to pack and take. If not, I'm preparing to leave."

After Uchiha Kai finished speaking, he looked out the broken window.

Just now, Uchiha Kai had sensed several unfamiliar chakra signatures heading towards his location.

It was not difficult to see that the commotion just now had attracted the attention of Kusagakure.

Uchiha Kai didn't want to be stuck with them.

Although their strength was not strong, they were numerous, like a dog-skin plaster.

'In the future, there will be plenty of opportunities to deal with Kusagakure slowly.'

Uchiha Kai had no intention of letting them off so easily; he was just letting them live a little longer.

Sairin had nothing to pack. The entire dilapidated thatched hut was empty, and most of the time, even meals were not guaranteed.

Sairin also knew that this was not the time to talk. She tried hard to get off the bed and leave with Karin and Uchiha Kai.

But Sairin's life force had been overdrawn too much.

In a war situation, Kusagakure had a large number of ninja casualties every day.

After continuous depletion, Sairin was on the verge of death.

If Uchiha Kai had appeared a little later, he might not have even seen her.

After realizing that her several attempts had failed, Sairin couldn't help but become anxious, and beads of sweat appeared on her forehead.

Seeing this, Karin also helped her mother from the side, but she was too small now and couldn't support her mother at all.

Even though her mother was thin and frail.

Uchiha Kai smiled and rubbed Karin's head.

"Wait until you're a little older to protect your mother."

"For now, let me carry your mother."

Uchiha Kai stretched out a hand, preparing to help Sairin.

Sairin looked at the hand that appeared in her line of sight, looked up and met Uchiha Kai's gaze, and her face turned slightly red.

It was just that her face was too pale now, and the red was a bit unnatural.

Uchiha Kai didn't give Sairin a chance to be coy.

He grabbed Sairin and pulled her onto his back, placing his hands on the back of her thighs.

After getting his hands on her, Uchiha Kai found that Sairin was lighter than he had imagined.

One could imagine what a thin and frail body was under the thin clothes.

What made Uchiha Kai's heart ache even more were the bite marks all over Sairin's limbs.

On Uchiha Kai's back, Sairin also noticed the ugly marks on her body and tried to pull down her sleeves to cover them.

But her sleeves were already tattered and couldn't cover them at all.

Sairin had no choice but to bury her forehead in Uchiha Kai's back, like an ostrich.

Uchiha Kai didn't mind these details. After carrying Sairin on his back, he took Karin with his other hand and held her in his arms.

And so, Uchiha Kai, carrying the small Karin in front of him and the larger Sairin on his back, quickly walked out of the thatched hut.

Seeing the figures of several Kusagakure ninjas gradually appearing around the corner not far away, Uchiha Kai said softly.

"Get ready... to go~"
