Chapter 12 - SCRETS, SARCASM, AND DANGEROUS HUMAN

Theodore Alpha stretched across his velvet chaise, the soft fabric molding to him like it had been made for one very specific, very irresistible human—him. He looked around his mansion, tilting his head, letting a sly smile tug at the corner of his lips.

"Ah," he murmured, voice low and teasing, "the chandeliers alone cost more than that college cafeteria you humans call impressive. Marble floors? Yes, they shine so much I can see my brilliance reflected back at me. And these windows… practically a full-size theater for my superiority. Some might call it wealth, others—perfection. I call it Tuesday."

He leaned back, fingers brushing the edge of a gold-trimmed table. "Of course, one must admit, none of this compares to the chaos she brings into my thoughts. Isabella. Human. Curious. Infuriating. And yet… utterly captivating. I should probably either save her from trouble… or let her scream a little. Makes life more fun."

Meanwhile, Isabella prowled the college courtyard, hands shoved in her pockets, eyes darting around like a detective in a low-budget fantasy film. Seraphina followed silently, calm as a shadow, clearly judging Isabella's dramatic flair.

"Seraphina," Isabella said, raising an eyebrow like she had just discovered the world was upside down, "why was Nina going on about wolves… and Alphas… and bats? Seriously, bats? Are we humans here, or am I supposed to check everyone for wings now?"

Seraphina's lips twitched, either holding back a laugh or preparing for the apocalypse. "You… don't know. Not yet. There are things humans aren't meant to see—dangerous things, beautiful things, things that would make your head spin."

"Oh, wonderful," Isabella muttered, rolling her eyes so hard it was a miracle they stayed in her sockets. "Hidden creatures, secret powers, shiny dangerous mysteries. Totally normal college day. Thrilled doesn't even cover it."

Seraphina finally looked at her, dark and calm. "One day, you'll understand all of it. But today… today is not that day."

Isabella leaned in, whispering conspiratorially, "Fine. But I need a hint. Just a crumb. A morsel. I promise not to scream—well, maybe a little internally, if it's exciting enough."

Seraphina smirked faintly. "Very well… a little. Not all who walk this world are human. Some watch. Some guide. Some exist in ways your human brain cannot process. And the Alphas… far from ordinary. Dangerous, powerful, captivating. Observe carefully."

Isabella blinked, sarcasm dripping from every word. "Right. Dangerous, powerful, captivating. Got it. So basically, college is secretly a live-action fantasy-horror-comedy, and I'm the clueless human extra who just realized the cafeteria could double as a portal to another dimension. Fabulous. Perfectly normal."

Back in his mansion, Theodore's lips curled into a darkly amused smirk. "If she ever gets into trouble," he muttered, "I could save her… or I could let her scream a little. Makes life far more entertaining."

The night stretched on, dark, glittering, and full of whispered secrets—where one Alpha bragged about his perfection, and one human sarcastically wondered if her life had become a fantasy sitcom.
