Pov. True Caster
I catch my master before his body falls to the ground. I then sit down and place his head to rest on my lap.
He is a bit young, which is unusual. Why would someone so young participate in this ritual? Desperation perhaps?
No, that's unlikely. I can see that his circuits are newly open, so he likely didn't come from a family of magi. Yet, their composition are absolutely irregular. I doubt he was naturally born with them like this, so most likely someone manufactured his birth in order for these circuits to exist.
I then summon a small cushion and place it below my master's head before getting up.
I decide to take a look around the place. This is supposed to be my master's workshop, or so he told me. And I can see why, it's connected to a major spirit font and allows him to gather high amounts of magical energy.
The ofudas placed around here are amateurish, as if someone just read how to make them and hoped they would work. Taking a better look, I find a book: 'The Tantra of Tachiwaka-Ryū'. Oh, so that's how he found out about this branch of magecraft.
Taking a quick look at the book, I couldn't help but frown. It is stupid, I mean, it works, but that's all. They're inefficient and tap into the wrong kind of mystery; the whole woman and man 'connecting' can work, but not in the way they want. The people who made this book are closer to a cult than proper practitioners.
And that actually makes me even more interested in my Master. Looking at his ofudas, I can't help but marvel at them. They're obviously ridiculous when compared to my own, but having made them with only a few months of having unlocked his circuits and using this terrible book as a basis? They're amazing! He even has his own personal touches that make them even more effective. It's as if he has a 'truer' vision of the mystery he connects to.
Ahhhh, that's amazing! I got a smart cutie as a master! I could easily use teaching him my magecraft to get closer to him!
Wait, what if he is a terrible man?
No, no, no! Impossible, I just looked at the summoning circle, he had no catalyst, nor did he use a specialised chant, so I was summoned through compatibility and his desperation.
Okay, so I just need a good first impression! Wait, technically, it would be a second impression.
So I will make this workshop a perfect place for us! That would surely be a good way to show my good side! He already did some interesting defences using basic ofudas and a few... runes? Weird combination, but as they're both based on the meaning of a deity, they can match kinda of well.
I hate making workshops, it's just boring and honestly not the most useful thing for a practitioner of Dakini, but for the Waxing Moon Ritual, it's a necessary thing. I even know how to make it perfect for us!
First, I will make this bounded field even better! I liked the idea, even if I despise using... her myth as a basis. Making the building a cave and any sort of outside magecraft, the sun is a perfect application of the myth of the cave. Now, if I reconfigure the mirrors' position to make a pentagram and triangle in order to call that man's foundation and the three main gods of Japan, I can reinforce the conceptual weight of the field.
I believe it would be necessary at least a Rank-C noble phantasm to penetrate the barrier, and even then, it would barely affect it. A Rank-B on the other hand... Well, problems for later.
The protections against physical damage are barely existent, relying only on a few basic runes, but they are effective enough. They make the walls seem like an indestructible barrier while making the doors unable to block anything. By placing a few powerful traps at the entrances, I can easily fix that weakness!
And it seems my master already was thinking about doing that, considering the ofudas placed on those places. But I can make it even better!
Let's see anyone trying to enter our base when they're hit by a thunder!
My Curse: Thunder can make even a servant paralysed by pain! No human will be able to enter this place without my permission!
This will surely make my master happy, right? Of course it will! There is no way he won't be happy with a reliable and powerful servant.
It will be perfect, making this place an impenetrable base, and teaching him my magecraft will make him extremely happy! And then once we win... Heheheh. No, snap out of it Tam-Caster. You need to actually accomplish something first to start having these dreams. You don't even know if your master will want you once he finds out...
I slap my cheeks.
No reason to think like that, I will do my best and win his heart! He won't be able to live without me after that, and once he grows a bit...
Well, that's for later. Let's finish these things already. Probably making some protections against evil creatures? That disgusting corpse may try coming here later, after all.
Oh, he already did some purification ofudas? And they use the sun as a concept? Perfect! A few small fixes here and there... and done! Now these things will obliterate any low-level apostle and hurt the stronger ones.
Should I make plans for the war? No, my master probably already has plans for that. Considering the few changes he did to the circle before his emergency summoning, I believe he already has an idea about what this ritual is going to entail.
My ears then begin to hear a different sound. Looking quickly, I see my master moving a bit.
He is waking up!
I quickly go to him, before taking away the cushion and placing my lap in its place.
Yes, the first thing he will see once he wakes up is my face. And then I can caress his head and show my beautiful and cute side to him before showing my work here, then he will see how reliable a fox I am!
I then focus on his face as his eyes begin opening.
"Had a good sleep, Master?"
