"Hmm," Aurelian breathed, a smile cracking his lips as he traced her nervous gestures. Her eyes sharpened, trying to give off a tough demeanor—which she repeatedly failed at, given the mixed signals she was giving off. Clearly, she hadn't thought her words through.
Smirking, he pulled her closer before flicking her forehead, his words trailing behind him. "The academy selections await," he murmured, stepping into the carriage.
