Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

July 21, 1992 – Outskirts of Tokyo

Inside a pitch-black house, gunfire erupted from all directions. The acrid stench of gunpowder filled the air, mingling with the desperate cries of an infant.

"Oe… oe… oe…" — the fragile sound cut through the chaos of battle. Then, amidst the shots, came the crash of something heavy collapsing to the floor.

Suddenly, the door was kicked open. Harsh beams from tactical flashlights cut through the darkness, revealing a tiny child still sobbing in fear.

Boots pounded against the floor as a squad of operatives in black body armor and gas masks advanced, rifles raised. The oppressive weight of their weapons made the infant cry even harder.

One man stepped forward from the group, removing his mask and helmet. His long, slightly messy hair framed cold blue eyes, and a scar ran from the left side of his chin all the way to the right side of his forehead.

Kenshin knelt, pulling out a biometric scanner.

> "This child… shows no anomalous traits. Completely human."

The soldiers around him nodded, softening their weapons. Kenshin gently lifted the baby into his arms, rocking her. The cries softened, her breathing slowed, and her small body relaxed into sleep.

Bullet holes riddled the walls; the bodies of her parents lay lifeless on the floor, blood pooling around them. Outside the shattered window, the warm glow of Tokyo's skyline contrasted sharply with the cold stillness inside.

A clear female voice broke the silence.

> "Good morning, Alpha 7… What, are you all blind? If this girl's normal, I'll bark like a dog."

The woman stepped into view — long, wavy blue hair like ocean waves, golden amber eyes, porcelain-white skin. Barely 1.54 meters tall, she looked sixteen or seventeen, though she was in fact nearly th

She wore a crisp white shirt, a brown waistcoat, a red tie, and over it all, a white silk trench coat.

Dr. Sora approached, her sharp gaze locked on the child. She toyed with the baby's hair, brushed her cheek. The soft "oe… oe…" returned. Around them, soldiers sighed and rubbed their temples.

Kenshin's voice snapped like a whip:

> "Knock it off, you lunatic. This is Alpha 7, not your Alpha 13. Don't mess around."

Sora smirked — not a teasing smile, but something more calculated.

> "Oh? Talking back to your superior now? How dull. Anyway, that black hair with white streaks is unusual. And her eyes… heterochromia. One grayish, one ocean blue… Looks like she's blind in one eye."

Kenshin exhaled sharply, handing the baby to a nearby soldier and massaging his temple.

> "Yes, ma'am. Please, just step aside. And that blue hair of yours isn't—"

Sora's small hand covered his mouth, her other finger pressing to her own lips — a signal to be quiet. Then, without another word, she took the baby into her arms and headed for the door.

> "Sorry, Alpha 7. Even if this was your mission, in this organization, whoever arrives first gets priority. Your superior isn't here… so I'm taking her."

Outside, floodlights from approaching helicopters washed over the street, drowning out the city glow. Sora stepped aboard a black UH-60 helicopter, the EASRS insignia emblazoned across its hull. As it lifted away over Alpha 7's convoy, the distance between Alpha 13 and Alpha 7 felt like it was growing wider by the second.

Five Years Later

At an orphanage in Japan, managed by the Tokyo Humanitarian Support Corporation (THSC) — a subsidiary of the EASRS Foundation.

In the quiet dormitory, among rows of sleeping children, one girl stood out. Her black hair was streaked with white, gold, and faint purple, like a field of stars scattered across a midnight sky.

One eye had shifted from gray toward pure white — nearly blind. The other shone a deep ocean blue. Her skin was as smooth as porcelain, her height barely 96 centimeters. Her innocent face could make anyone's heart ache.

She stirred in bed, eyelids fluttering open to greet the morning light.
