Chapter 166 - The Flash: “What’s Your Superpower?” Batman: “I’m Rich!”

But Odin had a plan in mind—this would require some prior preparation.

If one didn't reside on Earth but stayed in Asgard, then the wealth on Earth would be nothing but illusions, like the moon reflected in water or flowers in a mirror.

However, since Ragnarok in Asgard was inevitable, consideration for the livelihood of Asgard's people was necessary.

Thus, Earth's wealth suddenly had significance.

Asgardians would need a place to settle.

Planning ahead was entirely different from being forcibly pushed around.

"Please tell me today's content isn't this boring—I don't care which of you and Batman is richer," Hawkeye (Barton) said through gritted teeth, prompting everyone to burst out laughing.

Indeed, ordinary working people facing a billionaire were naturally envious.

Meanwhile, Tony Stark developed some curiosity about this Batman.

Spider-Man could shoot webs and swing between skyscrapers. Spider-Woman displayed similar abilities, using web shooters to swing around—largely consistent with the spider-based powers.

By contrast, Batman—could he be a bat with wings growing from his ribs?

Spider-Man was bitten by a spider, so was Batman perhaps bitten by some mutated bat, or possessed a bat totem? Tony Stark became curious.

At the same time, Gwen was juggling documents and her diary, muttering: "Damn capitalist."

She, of course, referred to her overbearing senior, Lin Feng, still exploiting her.

But submission to money was inevitable—even Spider-Man had to work and earn.

[Every scene is a billionaire's classic moment!]

A video suddenly appeared below, catching everyone's attention. They opened it.

The video began with Wonder Woman and the Batman from the main DC timeline talking by a lakeside forest.

Batman asked, "How much time do we have left?"

Wonder Woman replied, "A few days at most."

Everyone was shocked to see Wonder Woman and recalled Lin Feng mentioning that she came from the DC Universe.

Could this be the DC Universe?

This Wonder Woman appeared much more mature than the one in their world, who looked like a teen.

"She seems pretty similar to Earth, even speaking English—so the whole universe speaks English, I guess," Hawkeye commented.

"Or perhaps it's not English—it's just rendered in a language you can understand," Bruce Banner noted. "For higher lifeforms, communication may appear differently."

In the video, Wonder Woman explained: "Last time, Ravager attacked us, aiming to make Earth submit before destroying us. This time, his goal is the Mother Box."

Suddenly, Batman's phone alerted him to a new member: The Flash, Barry Allen.

"Have we located the other?" Wonder Woman asked. "Victor Stone?"

Batman nodded. "I want you to find him."

"We're sending strangers on a mission," Wonder Woman sighed.

"I know," Batman said, nodding. "But it has to be this way."

Without Superman's protection, the world was in total crisis.

Meanwhile, behind them, a half-human, half-machine figure appeared. Tony Stark watched, feeling it looked familiar.

It resembled their recruitment during the Avengers Civil War—exactly the same.

The video shifted to a run-down house by the railroad. Barry Allen tore open a fence, entered, and powered up the workspace. Batman was already waiting inside.

"Barry Allen, I'm Bruce Wayne," Batman said.

Barry Allen, startled, responded: "You think saying that explains why a stranger broke into my house, hid in the shadows, and sat in my second-favorite chair?"

Tony Stark, watching, twitched with déjà vu—this reminded him of how Egghead first appeared, cutting his mansion's power and appearing arrogantly in front of him.

Nick Fury noticed Tony's expression and pretended not to see it—awkward, indeed.

Batman ignored this, showing a printed photo of Barry Allen caught on surveillance.

Barry glanced at it and tried to dodge responsibility humorously: "He looks exactly like me—but obviously isn't me. Very handsome Jewish guy—maybe he stole your pocket watch?"

The Flash suit beside him told a different story.

"Another Flash? Or from the railway?" Hawkeye asked.

"No, this is the second Barry Allen Flash we've seen," Natasha Romanoff said.

In this Marvel universe, they'd seen many parallel universe variants—but this was their first encounter with another universe's version of a hero.

"I know you have special abilities," Batman interrupted Barry's excuses. "I don't know the specifics…"

"My abilities include violin, web design, and even gorilla sign language…" Barry Allen continued trying to justify himself.

Batman coldly replied: "Silica quartz fabric—wear-resistant, heat-resistant…"

"Yes, for diving dance," Barry countered weakly.

"This is the fireproof material needed for a space shuttle reentry," Batman snapped.

Barry continued resisting, but Batman threw a batarang; time slowed instantly.

With lightning speed, Barry dodged and caught the batarang. He knew his identity was revealed, especially with Batman's iconic weapon.

"You're Batman?" Barry asked.

"Which means you're fast," Bruce Wayne replied.

"Too vague," Barry said, but realizing Batman was trustworthy, he explained more.

"I'm forming a team. I need people with special abilities," Batman explained. "Because the enemy is coming."

Barry Allen, excited, said: "I'm in!"

"Really?" Bruce Wayne didn't expect such a smooth recruitment.

"Yes, I need peers. Ordinary people are too slow—I don't have the patience for them. For example, brunch—waiting an hour for lunch…"

"I'll try to keep up," Bruce Wayne smiled.

"Can I take this?" Barry asked, holding the batarang.

The two walked outside. Barry explained: "I can enter another dimension, manipulate space-time—I call it the Speed Force. It burns calories, so I'm a zero-calorie black hole, a snack hole… delicious pizza."

"Now, how many in the special ops team?"

"Three, including you," Batman said.

"Three? Who are the enemies?" Barry asked, getting into the Batmobile.

"I'll explain on the plane," Batman said.

"Plane?" Barry was shocked. "Your superpower?"

"I'm rich," Batman said calmly.

The Batmobile roared off.

Outside, Natasha whispered to Tony: "Doesn't he remind you of you? Recruiting Peter, breaking his defenses, same style—exactly like you."
