Prologue: When the Heavens Shattered

The sky… had ceased to exist.

It had been ripped into countless luminous fragments, drifting in an endless void where even the laws of the universe trembled. Stars fled like frightened birds, their light swallowed by a black abyss at the center of the heavens. Continents cracked and drifted over oceans of fire and blood. The cries of mortals were no more than whispers, lost in the roar of the shattered cosmos.

Amidst this chaos, a man stood alone.

His silhouette cut sharply against the broken horizon, draped in a black robe streaked with golden threads, as if woven from the very light of the stars. With every step, golden lotus flowers bloomed in the void, only to disintegrate into cosmic dust moments later.

His black hair floated in a wind that no longer existed, and his eyes… his eyes were abysses, reflecting both the birth and death of worlds. Hovering around him were nine legendary artifacts—each capable of destroying an empire:

A sword of pure jade, a ring etched with shifting runes, a blazing pearl, a black-steel bell, a phoenix feather, a flute carved from ancient bone, a sphere of eternal ice, a bloodstained banner… and a cracked white mask.

His name… was Li Wei.

In that moment, he was the last Supreme Immortal of the Dao.

"Li Wei…" A voice echoed through the void, deep and infinite, as if the universe itself spoke.

Before him, a colossal form appeared—made of light and shadow, its shape shifting with every heartbeat, from a hunched old man to a veiled woman, then to a draconic beast with wings of obsidian.

It was the Nameless Enemy, the forgotten scourge that had once devoured entire galaxies.

— "You have endured the trials of the heavens, shattered the chains of time, defied laws none could break… And yet…"

A cold, cruel smile crossed its ever-changing face. "You cannot win."

Li Wei raised his hand. The jade sword floated before him, pointing at the being.

— "Perhaps not today… but neither will you survive."

The world twisted.

With a single step, Li Wei propelled himself through thousands of dimensions, slicing through space like paper. His sword fused with his body, his robe dissipated, leaving only pure energy, blazing like a newborn sun.

The collision was… silent.

No sound. No blinding light. Just… disappearance.

For a brief moment, reality vanished across a thousand worlds. Then, time resumed, and the void collapsed upon itself.

Li Wei fell to his knees. His body cracked like fragile porcelain, strands of golden light escaping. Each breath tore away a piece of his soul.

He lifted his gaze to the Nameless Enemy. The creature dissolved slowly, screaming in a forgotten tongue.

— "You… have condemned me… along with yourself…" it spat before vanishing into the void.

Silence returned.

No breath. No whisper.

Only fragments of the universe drifted through the darkness.

Li Wei looked down at his trembling hand.

A fragment of pure jade glimmered faintly in his palm—the heart of his legacy, the essence of all he had been. Behind him, a translucent figure appeared: a woman in white, her face blurred, but her eyes glistening with tears.

— "You promised… to return…" she whispered.

Li Wei gave a faint smile.

— "I will return… but not as you expect."

He pressed the jade fragment to his forehead. Ancient runes rose, swirling around him like a storm of memories and secrets.

Then he spoke, his voice echoing through every dimension:

— "Let my name… be erased. Let my memory… be scattered. Let my destiny… begin anew."

Light exploded.

His body shattered into countless golden shards, each carried to a different point in time and space. The lotus flowers bloomed once more, floating in the void before fading one by one.

The universe, exhausted, closed upon itself.

And somewhere, far in the past… a child opened his eyes for the first time.

And so… the story began.
