Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3: FIGHT

"Sect Master"

Hanan appeared beside Chunqinq and got on her knees.

"Hanan! stand up and take the kids away. Listen Ren'er I will be gone for a while so you need to take care of your sister while I am gone".

"Mother!!! what are you talking about, aren't you comi....".

Feng Chen shouted with her eyes wide in distress and fear but Chunqinq knocked her unconscious.

"No! Mother—don't do this! I'm not ready! I need you—I still need you!"

Feng Liren shouted tears streaming down, voice cracking as Chunqinq handed his sister to him.

"How sweet. A mother and son sharing their last moments together."

The man with a scar spoke in a mocking tone, as if to taunt them.

The mother, her face serene but her eyes cold as ice, placed her hand protectively on her son's shoulder. She was a woman of extraordinary beauty, yet her aura spoke of power beyond her appearance, she took a deep breath, centering herself in the moment.

"No one will lay a finger on my kids"

She said softly, yet the steel in her voice was undeniable.

"Old hag you should be worried about yourself, as for your children... hahaha I will take care of them personally"

The women in a deep crimson bodysuit cut to accentuate her lithe, athletic frame, with high slits and sheer panels that shimmer like embers in low light .Her outfit is a fusion of elegance and danger.

"Hanan, take them with you and reach the location I told you without stopping and make sure that the kids always wear a mask in the presence of others."

Hanan hesitated, then nodded, understanding that she had no choice.

Turning back to face the enemies, Chunqinq took a deep breath, her feet shifting into a stance that radiated grace and power. The scarred man's grin faded into a sneer, and he raised his blade.

Without warning, the whip cracked, lashing toward her, but with a swift twist of her body, she dodged it effortlessly, her robes fluttering like a delicate flower in the wind. In one fluid motion, she unsheathed her hidden blade, a small dagger infused with ancient spiritual energy.

The spear-wielder lunged first, but the mother was already in motion. She spun, her blade flashing with the glow of the setting sun. The spear missed by inches as she closed the distance, her dagger striking the man's wrist with a precise, well-aimed thrust that sent the weapon flying from his hand.

Her movements were a blur, so fast that the enemies could barely keep up. She turned to face the scarred man, who had raised his sword high. A battle cry echoed through the trees, but the woman was already moving—her dagger slashing across his chest with a speed that left no time for defense.

Yet, as the scarred man staggered back, clutching his wound, the woman knew she could not hold out much longer. The forest around her was filled with the sound of footsteps. The boy had gone, but they would come for him—she could feel it. There was no time to waste.

"Leave now, while you still can,"

She said to the remaining two men. Her voice had lost its warmth, now colder than the sharpest blade.

The man with the whip lashed again, but this time, she sidestepped, and the whip caught on a low-hanging branch, its tail snapping violently. The spear-wielder charged again, but she was already gone, vanishing into the trees like a phantom.

"Hanan, why did Luo Zue.... betray mother and who were the other two?"

Feng Liren asked in a quiet tone his gaze still towards from where the fighting sounds were coming non-stop.

"Young master... Luo Zue thought that after master created the sect, she had no descendant but a decade ago when master brought you two, Luo Zue started getting restless.... he wanted his grandson to inherit the son who is a fourteen year old prodigy..."

'Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue Luo Zue .....'

Hanan explained various other reasons but Liren stopped listening and only started muttering his name as if afraid to forget it.

"And who were the other two"

Li Ren asked quietly in a monotonous tone, his gaze still towards the sect.

"That women was the sect master of an evil dual cultivation sect where they nurtured children until they were of breeding age and then sucked their pure essence and then sold them as slaves, named Fu Sisi; and that man with the scar on his nose is your uncle's brother."

"My uncle?? what do you mean"

Li Ren asked in a surprised tone.

"Yes, master's only family except you two is her sister and that man is your sole uncle's brother, Tang Yanjun"

'Does my aunt and mother have a bad relationship'

As if sensing Liren's thoughts Hanan replied

"Young master~~ He must have made this scheme by keeping his family in the dark as master and her sister have a great relationship"

Hanan's words worked like magic on Li Ren as his expression softened drastically.

The air was thick with tension, a moment of silence hanging over the battlefield as the three enemies closed in. In a split second, the calm was shattered by a violent burst of sound. The clash of steel rang through the forest, a sharp, deafening clang as blades met, sparks flying from the impact. The mother's hidden dagger whistled through the air, parrying the scarred man's sword in a blur of motion. Her movements were like wind, swift and precise, but the air crackled with the intensity of every strike.

Thud! The sharp whip cracked, slashing through the air like a snapping serpent, and the mother leaped to the side with a fluid grace that left the tip of the whip to snap harmlessly against a nearby tree, leaving a deep gouge in its bark.

The ground beneath their feet rumbled as the spear-wielder charged, his weapon stabbing toward her with terrifying speed. The mother dodged, twisting to one side just as the spear pierced the earth with a violent whoosh, sending splinters of dirt and stone flying. The impact was so fierce that it seemed to shake the very foundation of the forest.

And then it happened.

With a loud BOOM, an explosion tore through the air, a deafening roar that sent shockwaves across the battlefield. The very ground seemed to tremble beneath their feet, as though the heavens themselves were angered. Trees cracked and splintered, their trunks shuddering with the force of the blast. The air was filled with a cloud of dust, debris raining down like shards of broken glass, and the forest seemed to hold its breath.

The mother's eyes widened in surprise, and for a split second, her stance faltered. A thunderous CRACK echoed through the air, and the explosive shockwave sent her crashing into the dirt, the force of it pushing her to the ground. Her head spun, but she quickly regained her footing, heart pounding as she wiped the dirt from her face.

From the smoke and haze, the scarred man emerged, laughing maniacally as his form materialized from the chaos. His eyes gleamed with victory.

"Did you think we came here unprepared?"

he sneered.

"Don't worry I will give you a slow death."

Another explosion sounded nearby, this one even closer than before, rocking the ground beneath them. The trees surrounding the clearing bent under the force, their roots cracking and splintering. The very air itself seemed to scream with the fury of the battle, the explosions and the constant clash of steel mixing into an unholy symphony of destruction.

The mother's breath came in ragged gasps, her expression fierce and unwavering. She turned her focus back to the enemies, each move a dance of lethal precision, a blur of steel and shadow.

Then, in the midst of the chaos, a final, earth-shaking BOOM split the air. The ground cracked open, sending a wave of dust and debris billowing through the clearing, a final warning before the storm fully broke.
