Chapter 1 - The Life

In a planet unknown to us, there is a world where animals are stronger and can do many amazing things. But the most broken thing humanity discovered about these animals is this: if a human tames an animal and makes it their pet, the animal can transform into a weapon or armor that only the owner can use. How long the owner can use it depends on the human's own strength. Thinking about this, we see a boy getting beaten up by his classmates in the school corner.

"Bitch, give me your lunch money now!" a blond-haired boy said as he shoved a red-haired boy into the bushes and laughed with his friends.

"I… I don't have any today," the red-haired boy, whose name was Ravi, said as he stumbled out of the bushes, eyes on the ground.

"Seriously? We wasted our time on you," the boy standing beside the blond-haired one said as he kicked Ravi in the face. Then the group left, laughing together.

You guys may be wondering why Ravi is getting bullied. Well, it's simple. This is the planet Auroria, and people here are judged by the strength of the pets they own. If your pet is strong, you are respected and live a great life. If it's weak, life is the opposite. Ravi's parents don't have a strong pet, and they are poor. They barely earn enough to pay for school fees.

Ravi stood up slowly as he fixed his clothes, looked around, and took out his well-packed lunch given to him by his mother. He ate with wet eyes. He didn't own any pet, and most probably he would live the same life as his parents. But Ravi didn't want that. He needed to become stronger, he thought, as he took a bite and looked ahead.

BOOM BOOM BOOM

An exploding sound came from the mountain behind the city. It is well known that on the mountain there are animals. The ones that are not tamed… students usually go to wild places to look for pets, but not the mountain, as they most likely can't tame the animals there. Untamed animals are a threat to human life; only people who already have pets venture to the mountain.

"What was that exploding sound?" Ravi thought as he looked in the direction of the mountain, like everyone who had heard the sound.

"Must be some strong animals fighting. Army officers will take care of it," a blue-haired girl said as her pet, a blue snake, slithered around her neck and looked in the same direction.

"Oh, it's the campus beauty Aria. She is one of the students who already own pets," people around started talking about her.

Aria got annoyed and began to leave the crowd, but before leaving she looked at Ravi. Ravi was staring in the direction of the mountain, his fists clenched together. A frown formed on Aria's face.

"Is he thinking of going to the mountain to find a pet?" Aria thought as she walked away, still stealing glances at him.

Ravi put his lunch box in his bag as he began moving toward his class. Everyone knew that to pass high school, one needed to tame at least one pet. If you had tamed a pet, you basically passed, even without giving written examinations. If you didn't… you would fail. And sadly, Ravi didn't have an animal. He needed one to at least pass high school, and now he had to find an animal, one way or another.

"I will go to the mountain today," Ravi thought while exiting the class and leaving the school.

Ravi made his way toward his house to get the taming gears. To tame an animal, there were many ways: one was by giving them their favorite food, or you could help an animal. The most common way people used was force—fight the animal, and if it deemed your strength worthy enough, it could become your pet.

Ravi entered his house.

"Mom, where are the taming gears?" Ravi said as he stepped inside.

"You can rest for a while; you just came home, son," a beautiful woman with red hair said as she prepared a glass of water for him.

"I don't have time for it, Mom. Examinations are getting closer. I need to find at least one pet by the end, or I will have to repeat the year," Ravi said with a frustrated look as he took the glass of water and started packing his bag to leave for pet taming.

"Sigh… fine. Don't go to the mountain. Stay in the wild areas with weak animals, okay? Don't venture too deep," the beautiful woman said as she took the empty glass from him and looked at him with warm eyes, though worry was clear in them too.

"Yes, Mom. I will remember that," Ravi said, leaving for the mountain without telling his mother the plan he had in mind.

After 20 minutes of running, he reached the foot of the mountain and began to climb slowly. He hid carefully, not trying to be found by any wild animals he couldn't take on… well, he couldn't take on any wild animal with how weak he was.

After another 20 minutes of walking, he reached the area where the explosion had happened. He saw an injured animal lying in the crater, struggling to get up.

"He looks injured… I have brought some medicine and bandages for myself. If I get injured, I should at least give him some first aid first," Ravi thought as he climbed down into the crater. Inside, there was a red bat lying down, its wing looking injured. As Ravi got closer, it started hissing at him.

Ravi slowly approached the red bat and sprayed some antibacterial on its wound, which stung the bat, so it tried to move away. But its injuries didn't allow it, and Ravi bandaged it up.

"You okay, little guy?" Ravi asked as the red bat finally calmed down, realizing he was helping.
