Chapter 2 - Ch.5 Body Foundation Realm

"AHHH"

"Great ONE!!!!"

All the people present shouted, and the protectors in the front were the first ones to escape. Seeing this next pillar of support escape, some collapsed on the ground, and some ran with them.

"Whoever Runs!!! Dies!!!"

Nexus shouted as his voice froze everybody's movement; none dared to take any chances after seeing how their Great One had died.

"You, come here."

Nexus commanded as he pointed to an older protector; this seems to be someone from his grandfather's generation. Before leaving, he had asked his grandfather about all the protectors, so he was able to recognize them.

"Yes."

The old man sighed as if he accepted his fate and walked toward his eyes, which seemed to have lost light long ago, and fell on Nexus.

"Tell me about the situation of the city."

Nexus asked as he turned toward the city in the distance. Even from here, he could hear some obscene sound and some foul smell.

"Yes, Great, it is such..."

After a while, the old man stopped his words as he looked at Nexus, who remained silent. With his experience, he could tell that this boy was angry, and this made his eyes flash with a light of relief.

Then he felt a little bitter, and he couldn't help but wonder where his pride and will when he was young had disappeared. He always hated the Great One but never raised his voice. He didn't even dare to leave the city like others.

"Is it true?"

Nexus's calm voice rang out as he stared at all the people surrounding him, hearing his words, all of them nodded their heads. Nexus smiled at this as a sense of relief flashed passed all the people present. Looking at his smile, they felt that he was one of their own kind.

The old man, on the other hand, looked at others to see if they were idiots. Well, this boy is quite good at hiding his expression; if not for his years of experience, he may have been fooled.

"Good, Good."

Nexus smiled as he raised his hands, blood red energy gathered on his fingertips, and everybody felt a sense of dread. Nexus did a sweeping motion, and the blood energy, like a wind blade, slashed the bodies of everybody present in half.

"AgH!!"

Even the old man couldn't help but scream, seeing such a display of power; the previous great one had never been able to do such a thing.

"Do you think I am cruel?"

Nexus asked as his eyes stared at the old man, hearing his words, the old man calmed his agitated heart and shook his head.

"Great One, you are not wrong. But why didn't you kill me?"

"Hmm, you still have your use."

"Go, inform everybody that from now on, the previous city system will be followed."

"I want the city to be presentable in three days."

Nexus commanded as he kicked the ground, jumping high in the air and landing on a thicker branch of a nearby tree. He didn't want to see the city in its current state.

The Great One he killed was too tyrannical; he had made the city into a living hell. All the women were treated as mere playthings, and all the men who were not warriors or related to warriors were treated as slaves.

This reminded him of the Dark Ages he had read about in the book; well, this could be only considered the tip of the Dark Ages. After all the crimes committed at that time were something no living being should.

Even the Insect race that eats their own kind looked like saints compared to humans of that time.

Shaking his head, he threw away all those messy thoughts and focused on the Blood Energy he had just learnt.

Although it is called Blood Energy, its proper name should be Vitality Energy, well, a form of vitality energy. Its greatest use is to strengthen one's body; using it as a projectile is quite the waste of this energy.

If compared, using blood energy as a projectile is the same as having a missile, but betting on a stone thrown by the explosion to kill the enemy.

Though it is quite convenient to use when you don't have any other energy to use for ranged attacks. Well, if you use it to strengthen your body, you should be able to become faster than the speed of the blood energy as a projectile.

A month passed by, the city had become more prosperous than ever, Nexus had asked the old man to send a letter to his grandfather, and his grandfather had moved the entire village.

After which, all other villages in the surrounding area also joined, so in a single month, the city's population had almost increased by ten times. Nexus wasn't good at politics, so he gave all the responsibility to his grandfather.

Inside the new chief's house, Nexus sat on the ground in a lotus position, his eyes closed and his body motionless. His breathing was long and fierce as his every breath seemed to heat up the air in the surrounding.

Inside his body, the Blood Energy was flowing like a river, but if one notices, it was slowly drying up, with each layer of river that evaporated, Nexus's body shrank by one inch.

He was now only two meters tall, but the strength in his body had increased by tens of times. His bones were glowing with a reddish hue, and his flesh and organs seemed to have more vitality and vigor.

If there were a low-level Spirit entity, they would have been burned just by being near him, but alas, there was none.

Piles of fresh meat were placed around him as, from time to time, he opened his mouth using the blood energy to shred the meat and consume it in single bites.

Three months passed, and Nexus had remained motionless for all this time; if not for his orders, his grandfather would have barged into the room long ago.

Nexus' height had shrunk down to his normal height, and his muscles were leaner than bulky like before. He opened his eyes as it glowed with a red color; his gaze seemed to scare the spirit of a person.

He moved his body as thunderous roars were heard. Inside his body, there was not a single bit of the Blood Energy river left.

"Haa, Finally."

Nexus muttered as he felt his current strength; compared to four months ago, it was a difference between heaven and earth.

His speed had increased by hundreds of times; although he hadn't run at full speed, it should be near ten times the speed of sound.

His current physical defense should be enough to take on any weapon below the level of a nuclear weapon.

His strength had increased greatly, but his destructive power had diminished; after all, he focused on quality rather than quantity.

His life span should be around three hundred years, even in the current human civilization, which is quite a high lifespan for a normal citizen.

Although he lacks in the department of energy, his soul and will are quite protected; after all, the blood energy that was absorbed in his body wasn't for show.

He should be able to remain mostly fine from most weak attacks that focus on the soul and even resist most low-level illusions.

"Let's call this realm the Body Foundation Realm."
