When old man said name Kalera Larkin got completely shocked by listening that name.
" What, huh it's really bad beginning,we are so unlucky here."
Larkin says, the tention was clear on his face.
"Who is kalera, is there any big problem?" Siya asked to Larkin. Larkin looks at her.
" Kalera is worlds one of the best sharpshooters or worlds best female sniper. I have worked with her once when she was in Israel millitary. It was a military operation against terrorists. Her skills were honourable, specially as sniper. But she left millitary and became a bounty hunter. She can be dangerous for us because she is a sniper and you can say sniping is my weakness but only when I don't know location of sniper." Larkin replied her.
" She is sniper so that she will use any high place like any building so this place is safe for us. It will be better if we stay in streets."Siya said.
"Yes but not here , I don't want to die with you. My time has not came yet." The old man said them.
" You are so mean uncle. Is there any appartment where we can stay for today because it's best way to stay safe from Kalera and i need a laptop to." Larkin asked.
" Huh, what a headache." Old man huff in annoyance. "go in basement and don't come out." Old uncle said to larkin.
"Thanks uncle." Larkin said and removed a tile of floor where was a secret door. He opened that door and they both came in basement by ladders. Larkin switched on lights. The basement room was better than appartment,it was well cleaned and painted and furnitures were also better. Bed was bigger with a table,chair, computer and a big tv.
"This room is good." Siya said.
She sat on bed and leaned back on pillow releasing her all tension. Larkin sat on chair and started doing something on computer.
"Is he your relative larry ?" Siya asked larkin.
"No,we are not, we have just helped each other many times so we are so friendly. " He replied.
"But he seems to be care about you." She said.
Larkin got surprised for while and asked"why do you think that?"
"I think he just act tough and mean but he have soft spot for you. That's why het let us stay here with him even though you were asking to go somewhere else and when you asked about payment he refused to take. He thought about your well-being first. So i think he cares about you. " She said.
" Well he is egoistic person. He have to deal with criminals and gangsters every day so he always keeps his tough side front but he is so good person. The flat in which was living is also his and he gave it to me for free. So you can he cares about me." He said with smile. Siya smiles watching him feeling happy.
"Well how much time has been since you stopped working as assassin?" Siya asked.
Larkin thought for a second " maybe a year. It's been a long time and now i feel so lazy." He replied.
"But why you left?" She asked.
" I was tired of killings and chaos. I was in Katari massacre too and there i saw piles of corpses i saved many civilians but many were fied in front of me. After that day i fought in military operations, killed criminals and many more but after decade of working as assassin and secret agent,i wanted to live peaceful and happy life. so i stopped this works and came far from that world of bloodshed. But still i didn't felt happy,i just felt more loneliness. Living without friends or family is really difficult." Larkin said sadly.
Siya felt bad for him. " And i disturbed your that peaceful life too,sorry. I dragged you back in this bloodshed." She said with sad regretful face.
" No,i am happy." Siya got surprised by listening that. "What?" She said with confused look .
Larkin smiled" i am happy now, because i am with you. Whatever situation is this i don't have any problem until we are together. You treat me so good and you are so friendly with me,so it's ok i am happy." Larkin said.
Siya smiled back"I also like to be with you,you make me feel so safe and protected. So are we friends now?" Siya said happily.
Larkin felt so happy listening her word." Ofcourse we are. " He said.
"Not just friends,i want to be something more than just a friend. But maybe it's not right time for that...huh why it's so difficult." Larkin thought in his Mind.
"Well, aren't you feeling hungry now. We haven't ate anything since tomorrow. I am feeling so hungry." Siya said to Larkin. Her stomach was growling with hunger.
"Yeah,i am also very hungry. You stay here, i will bring you something to eat ." He got up from chair and said.
"Okay,i will be here but please be careful and come back safely." She said worriedly.
Larkin smiled feeling happy by her caring behaviour. "Okay."
Larkin came out from basement.
"Where are you going now?" The old man asked while reading newspaper.
"I am going to bring something to eat, take care of her. I will come soon." He said and went from appartment.
Siya was laying on bed in basement room,drowned in in her own thoughts. The door of basement opens and the old man comes down. He sits on chair and starts working on computer. Siya watches him working.
"Hey girl." The old man said.
"Yes uncle." Siya replied.
" What relation do you have with Larkin?" He asked in serious tone.
Siya got surprised by sudden question, "he is just helping me because i am in trouble. But now we are so friendly. We have just met yesterday so he is just protecting me as friend nothing more." She answered calmly but thoughtfulness was clear on her face.
" Do you like him?" The old man asked again.
Siya flinched and soft blush appeard on her face "What no, uh i mean ...he is good guy and he is so handsome,smart , strong and..and everything,he completely perfect but...i don't know i like him or not in that way.we have just became friends." She said in fumbling and unsure tone.
"Huh stupid." Old man said with annoyance. He calms down and then says "I am watching him from many years and i think i know him very well. In these many years i have never saw him like this, filled with happiness and joy. He have always been alone even when he was in orphanage. he never had any good friends or family so lived alone running before his dream to be a hero in others eyes. Whenever I had seen in past, always there was a loneliness in his tough demeanor. But today when i saw him ,i felt totally different. That loneliness and sadness wasn't there as he have got everything that was missing in his life. I don't know is it true or not but my experience as a men. Girl,i think he likes you." The old man said confidently.
Siya got surprised completely,she confused about it's true or not. A wave of strange emotions appeared in her body, remembering how happy she had felt with him in just two days and a shy smile appeared on her face. She thought for a while and then said softly, " I don't know how he was before but the way je treats me and how happy and safe i feel with him is so important to me and i would love to live like this with him forever but i think,for now we should stay like this. I am not going to think about anything else until everything becomes normal."
Old man smiled and asked "But what if he confesses you sooner,it have high chances because he is so impatient and he had been love less in his life so he would want that desperately." He asked curiously.
"I don't think he will. Larkin isn't any coplex person,he is so straight forward and free minded so it's bit easier to understand him faster. By my understanding he is not going to confess until he don't feel it necessary. He is not any perv who crave for physical affection.We are happy as we are and he isn't going to do anything before impressing me completely and making peace in our life...and if it is about love and care,i can provide her that as friend too,i can keep him happy." She said.
"That means you like him." The old man said.
Siya blushed furiously,she realised that confessed everything in flow unknowingly.
The old man laughed. "You are really so childish."
They continued talking there peacefully,that old man made siya feel as she is talking with her father.
But on the side larkin was in the crowded market standing at a shop where suddenly some pointed gun on him.
