Of course, there was still one hitch.
Gabriel couldn't bring herself to kill humans. Not directly, anyway.
What she could do was use her angelic speed technique to teleport into Umbrella's underground bases, set up a teleportation circle, and then pull Rosen's group in after her.
"You're an angel after all, little Gabriel. No one's going to fault you for not wanting to kill people," Fubuki said with a nod. Unlike Gabriel, she had zero qualms about cutting down scum.
"Alright then, I'll head out first."
Gabriel nodded back. Guided by the Red Queen's glowing markers on the world map, she prepared to activate her divine technique.
A halo of light shimmered above her head, spilling down radiance. White wings unfurled from her back, shedding a few pure feathers as they spread.
The sight left Sakura Megumi, Yuki, and the others frozen in awe. Nanami and her group were equally shaken. No matter how many times they'd seen it, the vision of an angel manifesting was breathtaking. Even in this broken, dying world, her presence felt like a blessing that washed over their souls.
"Well then, everyone, I'll be going now."
Gabriel waved, smiling warmly, then gently beat her wings.
Rosen felt the air stir, felt the ripple of divine energy.
But Gabriel was still standing there.
"…Something wrong?" Saeko Busujima tilted her head. Was there some kind of special preparation involved?
"Cough, cough… n-no, nothing! Just, uh, thinking for a second."
Gabriel faked a cough, though the blush creeping across her cheeks gave her away. The truth was simple: her teleportation had glitched.
The spell had activated, but thanks to a skipped step, the only thing that teleported successfully was… her shoes.
Both of them.
Her bare feet were now icy against the concrete.
Even though Rosen was the only guy here, she wanted to die of embarrassment. If anyone realized the teleport had stripped away more than shoes… her life might as well be over.
Better to just blow the Horn of Destruction and silence everyone on the spot.
"Don't worry about it," Rosen said, his steady voice pulling her back from her panicked imagination. "There are still survivors out there waiting for you to save them."
"…Right. Okay."
Gabriel resisted the violent urge to pull out the Horn and give it a blast. She closed her eyes, replayed each step of the technique exactly as she'd been taught in Heaven, and tried again.
A breeze swept past.
In the next instant, her figure vanished.
When she reappeared, it was inside Umbrella's Austrian underground headquarters. Thanks to the Red Queen, no alarms were triggered, and even the surveillance feeds were quietly swapped with harmless looped footage.
Back with Rosen's group, the temporary teleportation circle Gabriel had left behind lit up.
"You can come through now," her voice echoed.
One by one, the others stepped into the circle. A lurching, spinning sensation swallowed them, and then—
Thud. Rosen landed solidly, but the three women beside him nearly faceplanted.
"Ugh…" Fubuki gagged, like she'd just gotten off the world's worst rollercoaster. Still, they recovered quickly.
From there, everything unfolded exactly as planned. Guided by the Red Queen's markers, the group bulldozed through Umbrella's defenses. At headquarters, the stunned board of directors could only watch in disbelief as Rosen's team erased them.
Then they repeated the process across every Umbrella base.
One after another, every underground facility fell.
From that moment on, Umbrella was Umbrella in name only. The company was finished.
At the same time, a notification pinged in the chat group:
Mission complete.
"Phew. Finally done," Rosen exhaled. The raids had gone smoothly, but the sheer number of bases meant it still took them two full hours.
And thanks to Gabriel's suggestion, they hadn't just destroyed Umbrella—they'd looted it.
The biggest prize: pure samples of the T-Virus and the antiviral serum.
"Those bastards! They had the serum this whole time and never used it to save anyone?" Saya Takagi exploded when she heard, furious.
Rosen said nothing. He knew the truth: the serum wasn't a cure-all. Injected within six hours of infection, it worked perfectly. After that, the odds dropped to fifty percent. Beyond twenty-four hours, it was useless—just delayed the inevitable.
Still, the haul was invaluable. Rosen split the virus samples and serum evenly among the four of them. They could sell it to the chat group for points if they wanted.
"This is great! Seriously, what a haul!" Gabriel beamed, clutching the vials like treasure. Then she looked up.
"So… when are you guys planning to head out?"
"..."
