Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: Horrible Cutting, Mountains of Corpses and Seas of Blood

Seeing Maguire already buried beneath the swarm of lizardmen, not far away Garfield and Holland exchanged a look. Natasha, Hawkeye, and Daredevil had also rejoined the battle.

They all knew this was a fight they could not win. But with their home at stake, no one thought of retreat.

Tens of thousands pressed in. Natasha, Hawkeye, Garfield, Holland, and the rest hurled themselves back into the lizardmen ranks.

Only Iron Man, sensing something terrible about to happen, suddenly shouted:

"Don't go!!! It's dangerous!"

His roar froze everyone in place. Confused, they turned toward him.

The next second—

From the mass of lizardmen surrounding Maguire, countless black threads shot out in all directions. The fine lines pierced through hundreds of lizardmen bodies at once, the deadly web just a step away from Garfield and the others.

If not for Iron Man's warning, they would have been shredded too.

The black threads then spun violently, like the blades of a helicopter. In a frenzy of rotation, they carved through everything. Hundreds of lizardmen were minced into chunks, blood exploding everywhere, filling the air with the stench of slaughter.

Flesh and limbs spun skyward, blood dyed the heavens crimson. Even the moon above seemed soaked in gore.

In the next instant, the threads snapped back toward the center. The remains of the lizardmen rained down, piling into mountains, rivers of blood spreading across the ground.

Hardened soldiers who had survived countless battles retched at the sight.

And in the middle of it all, one blood-soaked figure stood alone. The carnage was so severe that even the King of Hell himself would have frowned.

It was Maguire.

When the lizardmen had swarmed him, Venom had transformed into a shield, wrapping his body. Armament Haki coated the shield. Once surrounded, he turned the shield into hundreds of razor-thin threads, each covered with Haki, then unleashed them outward.

With the Ox Talisman's strength surging through him, Maguire spun, turning those threads into blades of death, sweeping everything away.

In the sky, Green Goblin froze in disbelief.

Garfield and Holland also stood shocked, realizing they had nearly been killed if not for Iron Man.

Maguire looked at them coldly.

"Consider yourselves lucky. Otherwise, you'd be pieces of meat like the rest."

The group shuddered.

"What is he? He's no man… he's a god?"

Iron Man exhaled in relief.

"Looks like New York just might survive this."

But Green Goblin howled with rage.

"My lizard army—slaughtered! I'll kill you!"

His eyes burned an even darker green, sanity gone. He pointed at the massive Lizard Connors and the giant Scorpion.

"You two—tear him apart!"

The hulking monsters charged Maguire.

He only smiled with excitement, watching them rush him.

The giant Lizard swung his massive tail like a battering ram, the air shrieking under its force.

The tail slammed into Maguire's waist with a thunderous crack.

But Maguire didn't move an inch. The ground beneath his feet crumbled into dust, yet his body stood firm.

Venom roared in his ear.

"Show them, my master—show these insects true power!"

Maguire grabbed the Lizard's tail and heaved. At the same time, the Scorpion raised its own tail, spitting a glob of green acid toward him.

Maguire's grin twisted. With a violent heave, he swung the Lizard into the acid's path.

The acid sizzled across its flesh, regeneration battling corrosion.

Before the Scorpion could react, Maguire swung the Lizard again like a hammer, smashing it into the Scorpion.

The crash shook the earth.

Then, like a child spinning a toy, Maguire whirled the Lizard in his grip, smashing it again and again into the ground, into the Scorpion, into everything in reach.

Garfield, Holland, and Iron Man watched, stunned silent.

"In his hands… they're toys."

"What kind of strength is this…?"

With a final shriek, the Lizard's tail snapped off, but the monster still crashed to the ground. Both it and the Scorpion lay battered unconscious.

From above, Green Goblin cackled, voice shrill.

"Fool! Did you think that was all? Now I'll show you my true terror!"

But before he could rant further, a strand of web lashed out, sealing his mouth shut.

Maguire sneered.

"Shut the hell up. I've had enough of your damn cackling!"

"Shut the fuck up already!!!"
