Chapter 421 - Specialty

"Large-scale teleportation isn't my specialty."

Kel'Thuzad calmly repaired his damaged arms, with white bone regenerating from the distal end of his humerus.

For a Lich, physical damage was not a serious injury. However, Kel'Thuzad, in order to provide enough power to the grasp of the damned chain, had sacrificed his hand bones directly. It would indeed take some time to reform his hands.

In fact, Azshara had already entered the fray. She had been secretly manipulating the link between The Maw and the real plane. As the one who had once opened the giant portal above the Well of Eternity, Azshara's mastery of cross-realm teleportation spells was indeed far beyond others.

With the help of the River of Souls and Torghast, Azshara was able to drag Argus into The Maw. Being able to personally retaliate against a Titan was something she couldn't refuse, especially since Arthas had told her that this Titan was essentially Sargeras's eyes and ears, and all actions against Argus would be known to Sargeras.

The Naga Queen's eyes gleamed with a morbid pleasure as she wielded the deepest powers of The Maw, wantonly destroying Argus's body.

First to be severed was Argus's head. When his head separated from his body, a large number of chains immediately detached from the giant pillar formed by the grasp of the damned chain, impaling his head and slamming it towards one end of The Maw.

At the same time, an ancient dark green mark lit up on Argus's brow, causing his thoughts to momentarily stagnate, preventing him from reacting in time.

This necromantic mark from Maldraxxus was the Primus's doing. The Eternals, considering Argus's threat, unanimously chose to suppress a portion of his power.

Next, Azshara tore Argus's torso. Her wanton laughter almost echoed throughout The Maw, and with her laughter, the waves of the River of Souls grew more turbulent, roaring as they ripped Argus's upper and lower body apart.

The grasp of the damned chain followed suit, sealing Argus's shattered torso separately. Gryphon and Night Fae marks also appeared on Argus's chest and lower limbs, respectively, as the power of The First One, Devos and Winter Queen, these two Eternals, began to manifest in The Maw.

Pure Anima power transformed into ribbon-like energy streams, weaving back and forth over Argus's remnants, once again destroying and inhibiting the vitality of Argus's body—to kill a Titan, merely destroying its body was not enough. Even though Argus had been torn into three pieces by Azshara, his body was still instinctively resisting the power of the Eternals and The Maw.

But it could only resist. The Primus and others, who had prepared in advance, would not give Argus any chance to turn the tables. After all, allowing a Titan to run rampant in the Shadowlands would certainly cause massive losses. Sealing him in The Maw was already the best option.

In The Arbiter's chamber, the Primus slowly withdrew his right hand. The surging necromantic energy gradually subsided at his fingertips. The confrontation with Argus made this master of war slowly shake his head, "I didn't expect that even with Zovaal dead, some things still cannot change."

"The souls of Titans should not be brought into the Shadowlands, nor should they exist within The Maw—this remains a hidden danger. You should be well aware of this."

The First One, Devos also put away her spear. She was forced to act under the coercion of the Winter Queen and the Primus. After all, the die was cast, and she had no choice.

"It's irrelevant. Argus is not Zovaal. Having completely lost his sanity, he is no different from the beasts in The Maw. Even after thousands of centuries, he will simply remain there obediently."

The Primus waved his hand, "These are no longer matters we need to consider. Someone is eager to maintain this fragile balance. While we won't exert ourselves, there's no need for us to disrupt it."

"Hmph." The First One, Devos did not object, merely letting out a soft hum. "I'm returning to Bastion. No matter how quickly we react, Argus's fall will still cause some trouble. You should all return to your respective realms."

"That's my intention." The Winter Queen expressed no objection, and even before The First One, Devos left, she waved her sleeve, and her figure was enveloped by butterflies and breezes, disappearing into the chamber.

Moments later, only the Primus remained in the chamber. Leaning on his staff, he looked up at the "sky" of the Shadowlands and sighed, "One tree was destroyed, but it couldn't stop the seeds that had already been sown. Those Titans never understood this back then..."

After a light sigh, the Primus also left. The Shadowlands had not yet fully recovered from the upheaval caused by Zovaal. He still had much to do.

"We got it! We got it!"

The communicator almost jumped up cheering, shouting loudly with the walkie-talkie in his hand, "We can find Azeroth's signal!"

His shout made half the people in the bridge command center turn their heads, and a spark of hope ignited in everyone's eyes.

Jaina was the first to rush to the communicator's side, snatching the walkie-talkie and immediately calling into the device, "This is the Azeroth, respond if you receive!"

"—Static—Static, this is... Lordaeron... re-established... coms..."

The communication from the device was still mixed with a lot of static, but being able to reconnect was already enough to uplift spirits.

Jaina suppressed her inner excitement, but her knuckles unconsciously tapped impatiently on the table. She was waiting, waiting for the communication channel to become clear enough.

My lord, there's more to this chapter, please click next page to continue reading, it gets more exciting!

"This is Lordaeron, respond if you receive."

As the number of communications increased, the clarity of the voice finally returned to normal. Jaina immediately asked, "What happened during this period of silence? Why couldn't all communication methods connect, and why were even all teleportation channels shut down?!"

The operator on the other end didn't reply immediately, and Jaina didn't urge them. She knew that many things must have happened, and they needed time to organize their words.

"During the thirty-odd hours of lost contact, Azeroth suffered devastating blows from an unknown source. We tried to resist, but the communication channels were disrupted by violent magical storms. To avoid greater accidents with the teleportation channels, we were forced to shut them down."

This matched their conjecture about Azeroth's situation, but now it seemed they had weathered the most difficult period. But why hadn't they re-established communication channels immediately?

That likely meant there were other developments after that period.

"What is Azeroth's current situation? Is the damage severe?"

"Results haven't been compiled yet, but most towns weren't severely damaged. Although the unknown attacks covered the entire world, they dissipated very quickly after defense measures were activated. According to joint deductions by mages from Dalaran and Quel'Thalas, it's speculated that the energy collision was too intense, causing disturbances in Azeroth's outer space, and the unknown attackers were swallowed into the rift."

The operator replied methodically; that was the information he had.

After listening to the operator, Jaina let out a long breath, and the others on the ship were no different. At least they didn't have to face the most tragic outcome, otherwise many would question the meaning of everything they had done.

"It seems we don't have to choose to wander the cosmos with the Titans after all," Xal'atath floated to Jaina's side, jesting.

Jaina pursed her lips, and after a long moment, finally spoke her thoughts, "No... I'm afraid we need their help even more now. According to Aggramar, this attack on Azeroth was at Sargeras's hand, and after realizing his plot has failed, that Dark Titan will certainly continue to try to destroy our world. The fact that he hasn't appeared yet only means Arthas is still causing him trouble. We must make these Titans help us completely deal with Sargeras!"
