I waited, letting the weight of my words settle in the air. The reality of what I'd just exposed hung between us like a physical presence.
"What?" I challenged Marianne, who stood trembling before me. "You said it yourself. I can't command you to hurt yourself. Fine, let's try something else. What if I commanded you to give me all of your money?"
Her eyes darted away from mine, confirming my suspicion. Anger surged through me like wildfire.
"Something you've already done, I see," I snarled, my eyes flashing dangerously. "What's your name?"
"Marianne," she whispered, barely audible.
I released my aura with such force that Killian, my wolf, took control as rage consumed me. "Do jumping jacks until I tell you to stop."
Marianne's eyes widened in shock, but I turned away, struggling to rein in my wolf. Behind me, she began bouncing up and down reluctantly. Some of the other girls chuckled, which only fueled my anger.
