Chapter 5 - LOST EVERYTHING 2

After a long while, Marshall Jones was done with his delacacy enjoyment, he flinged, Margaret's tired body to the ground, lips curled up from ear to ear, a grin of satisfaction seen on his face

"That was quite a dish, I really enjoyed myself" Marshall Jones walked to were Steven was held, he was already pale from the amount of blood he lost. His fate was death. Just a few minutes and he will be done for.

Marshall Jones proceeded in impaling Steven again with the sword of one of his men. As it the cut on his wasn't sufficient enough to make him succumb to it. This was pure cruelty and evil in it's pure form. Steven who was already seeing blurry, with every of his senses loosing effect one by one, he didn't feel any pain when he was I impaled through his stomach to his back.

"Take care of his wife and you all meet me out. We have lost alot of time here already, I have to be in the next village soon enough."

Marshall Jones ordered, taking the chest of silver along with him. One of the men took out his dagger and walked towards Margaret who was laying on the floor naked and tired. Tears running down her ears, forming a poodle on the floor. As if all the humiliation wasn't sufficient, she was stabbed on the stomach seven times, blood oozing at a fast rate. The knight who stabbed her joined his fellow brothers in arm outside.

Ethan who was beaten up by the other, still stood up, grabbing his sister's hand and taking her to where their mother was, agonizing in pain, close to entering the world of the death. Margaret tried to mumbled words as hard as she could, directing Ethan to their bedroom, he came back with a little box and give his mother. She opened it and took out two identical jade pendants, putting one around Ethan's neck and the other around Licia's

While outside, Marshall Jones stood with his men, feeling the refreshing all and the satisfaction he got minutes ago

"Burn the house to ashes, let nothing be left" He ordered as he walked to his horse "And the Kids?" one of his men asked

"I careless about the kids, if they find a way to leave the house good, if they don't, then still good. Now burn down this pigstyle or I will burn you myself" He said, his voice void of compassion, only evil and darkness was felt in his voice.

Taking torches of fire stick, they shot it to the roof, through the windows as the house was catching fire, lighting up with intensity increases every passing seconds. Ethan was still in the house with Licia, crying over their mother who was close to death. Her nose caught the smell of smoke and she became alerted to what was actually happening, the house was burning. Her babies had to leave the house immediately

"Ethan...I am sorry....this happened...to us, we...are sorry to...make you and your...sister orphans...in this evil world. I... would have... loved things to...end up differently...for use but our lives...were forcefully taken...cough..cough...cough..." Margaret mumbled, caressing the cheeks of her children who were both crying. He voice was deem, devoid of life, she was dieing slowly

"Ethan...love your sister....love her with all...with all...your heart and...protect her with...your life. She is...your only family...left and so...you don't let...anything hurt her..."

"I promise you mom, I will protected her with my own life. My life has no meaning for me as form today onwards" Ethan promised as he was weeping rivers of tears.

"Good boy...Ethan...Licia...don't forget that...that mommy and...and daddy loves...loves you with...with all their heart. Now GOOO" Saying her last words, her hands fell to the ground, her skin pale, with the large poodle of blood underneath her. Ethan immediately dragged his sister, no time for cries right now. He sprinted with her out of the already burning house, with the unbearable heat inside. Thanks, the door wasn't there again, it wasn't difficult for Ethan and Licia to leave the house safely.

Standing out on the streets with his sister close to him, Ethan was weeping, tears running down his cheeks but he seemed to be out of this world. He watched as their house was burning to ashes with his parents dead in eat. The smell of burning flesh lingered in the air. As if his world came to an end, Ethan knelt, looking up to the sky, his face didn't show any expression, this was too much for him.

"Mom.....Dad....Mom....Dad....Mom....Dad....MOOOOOMM...DAAAAD....MOOOOOOOMMMMM....DAAAAADDDD....MOOOOOOOOMMMMMM....DAAAAAAAADDDDDDDD"

Ethan was close to Paranoia, the pain was too much, calling out his parents, hoping all this was a lie, hoping his parents will came out of the house. What a disheartening and sorrowful scene. Ethan and Licia lost everything that day, their beloved parents and their lovely house.

The villagers who saw the house burning up, they didn't lift a finger to come out and help the kids. They knew it was the Marshall's doing and they knew if they interfere or try to help out, it would be their turn. They just watched the house burn, feeling sorry for the now orphan Ethan and Licia. If they weren't scared of the Great Kingdom's army, they would have tried to help them in all means possible, but that wasn't the case.

In a village as such where things were not easy to get, feeding was hard, but someone made them orphans just to his satisfaction. This was pure evil. But who was courageous enough to stand against that evil and fend it off? Nobody. The weak shall always suffer in the hands of the strongest. The poor shall always suffer mattyr in the hands of the rich. The commoners shall always suffer maltreatment in the hands of the noble. That was the bitter reality of life. Life tends to be unfair for those who lack the means.

This day marked Ethan for the rest of his life. No villager wanted them in their home and so Ethan and Licia were left on their own. With nothing else to feed his sister and himself, Ethan had no choice but to start theft. It was very hard in the beginning, he was caught every time and beaten up. No one showed mercy at all. They careless of his situation, all that mattered was that he was a thief. Ethan developed rage not only for the Great Kingdom that was the reason why he lost his parents, also towards knights, but also rage towards the villagers who were careless of his sister and himself beating him up instead of helping him.

Knowing no one would come to help him out, he decided to steal from all the villagers, their foods, their money and valuable stuff if he found. He spent time in the inners of the dense forest, training, sculpting himself a toned and build up body in the years. Slowly but surely, he was honing his strength, speed and agility in the forest. Went to the field, when I say field I mean stealing from merchands. His training was paying off cause he was caught lesser and lesser.

Four years of training and sharpening his stats, at 15, he was already above average stats for teanagers his age. His relentless efforts, resilience, resistance and determination in toping his stats by training has finally paid off. But the adults here were just too weak but what could he do about that. It was in his advantage and he will profit to the fullest.

Still watching over the pot on fire, Ethan seemed lost in thought. He sent his hand in his pocket, taking out a jade pendant. It was greenish and had some sparkles of cyan colored nodes in it. The jade was shaped like a generator tower crystal, six faceted, flattened edge and a pointed edge. Holding the pendant in his hand, Ethan had a flashback of all that happened that cursed day. His father's dead, his mom's cries and her agonizing state on the floor.

Poodle of blood painted the floor red, his heart was in pain. This was a tie to the past, something that kept him from forgetting the atrocities of this world. That always kept the flame of rage burning in his soul, and to not forget the promise he made to his mom before she died.

Due to the importance of this item, Ethan only wore it when he wasn't on the field, when I say field I mean stealing. He knew if he has it on him when in action, he will lost it if he was caught. It was too precious for him to lost it so stupidly. So before going to the field, he left it with Licia.

After looking at the pendant for so long, remembering the past, which made his rage burn more and more, he wiped the tears which rolled down his cheeks and wore the pendant.

"Mom... Dad...I am taking care of Licia as promised. It's been 4years now, things have been hard but I know I can make. I won't deceive you but honor your memories"
