Jiang Sui didn't know.
Su Qing and Mei Yeqin had a consistent understanding.
But implementing it wasn't as simple as she'd imagined. First, there was a ton of technical terminology that Su Qing didn't fully understand, and she needed to constantly research.
Su Qing also put a lot of effort into sorting out some of the more obscure concepts, wanting to absorb them quickly.
Mei Yeqin kept urging her not to rush.
Su Qing wasn't the type to be impatient, but she occasionally became a little irritable when she encountered Jiang Sui. She still felt a bit impatient when she encountered the boy.
Then there was the matter of taking medicine.
She noticed that Jiang Sui was somewhat dependent on it, just like the time he'd taken it just to go to the amusement park with her.
The boy always thought that taking it would make him feel better, that he'd be a normal person.
Su Qing didn't deliberately try to stop this. She and Mei Yeqin had agreed that once Jiang Sui got better, they could just replace the contents of the bottle with vitamins.
Of course, this wasn't something that could be done right now.
Winter vacation flew by.
Su Qing's grades still weren't as good as the young man's, her total score nine points lower than Jiang Sui's. During winter break, Su Qing devoted herself to reading extensively on medical books.
The young man was somewhat dissatisfied with this, wondering why she was so busy. Su Qing used the nine-point difference as an excuse for all her excuses.
The young man knew she valued her studies more, so he didn't say anything, nor did he harbor any suspicions.
During winter break, a number of sensational events occurred.
For example, the school principal was temporarily suspended due to some issues.
However, these issues weren't the main focus of the news; everyone was spending most of their time studying.
As school was about to start, students facing the upcoming college entrance exams were slowly making adjustments, with those preparing for the arts exams and those preparing for final exams.
Due to enrollment issues, Su Qing needed to transfer back to Jiangcheng No. 1 Middle School to adjust for a while.
Time truly seems to erase pain and scars.
When Su Qing returned to class, her classmates at Jiangcheng No. 1 Middle School seemed unfamiliar with this new transfer student.
Su Qing had transferred here on her own. Su Rao was in poor health, and Su Qing didn't want to burden her, so she simply lived in campus.
The only difference in her life was her relationship with Jiang Sui.
The students at school were still buzzing about it.
But regarding these two students, the top and second in class, no one had much to say.
These two top students, one with perfect scores in math and the other in English, were simply unattainable.
The most crucial issue was the occasional encounter with Li Xu. The young man always glared at Su Qing with a fierce gaze, but Su Qing wasn't afraid. Her eyes were clear and bright, leaving no space for any darkness.
Li Xu had never imagined that Su Qing would reappear, or even transfer back.
He glared coldly at the young woman, only this time there was a troublesome person beside her: Jiang Sui.
The young man lurked in the shadows.
Jiang Sui protected Su Qing so well that they were practically inseparable.
In the dormitory, the occasional chats between the roommates would often fill them with envy.
"Su Qing, Jiang Sui is so nice! No wonder he refused everyone's pursue before. It turns out you're a brilliant academic couple! You two are so enviable! You both are first and second place again this time."
"Su Qing, Jiang Sui is waiting for you downstairs. Why don't you hurry downstairs!"
A few roommates chattered. Su Qing pursed her lips and smiled sheepishly.
"Has he been waiting for me downstairs for a long time?"
Su Qing looked at her phone with confusion, but there were no text messages.
She had been busy with her physics test paper.
Jiang Sui usually messaged her beforehand when he contacted her. Was there something wrong this time?
Su Qing hesitated, a hint of doubt in her eyes, wondering whether she should call Jiang Sui to ask.
The girl, head bowed over her homework, hesitated for a moment, pursing her lips. "Really? I saw him standing there for a long time. He was there just when I was getting water!"
"Thank you. I'll go downstairs and find him."
Su Qing thanked her and left. She walked quickly, not wanting to keep the boy waiting for too long. She figured he must have been there when she started working on the physics paper.
The roommate said he was there when getting water, so he must have been waiting for quite some time.
"That's not right, Bai Lulu. I didn't see Jiang Sui downstairs when I was fetching water just now."
Another girl in the dormitory tilted her head out of bed, peering at the girl named Bai Lulu, a bit puzzled.
It wasn't that everyone noticed Jiang Sui.
It was just that the young man was too handsome to ignore, so it was inevitable that everyone focused their attention on him.
The girl named Bai Lulu pursed her lips, "I was mistaken. I just saw Jiang Sui..."
She argued somewhat contrivedly, yet also hesitated and timidly.
"You were mistaken, and yet you claimed to have seen him, making Su Qing go all out for nothing."
"It's a mistake, it's nothing. Zhang Xiaoli and Bai Lulu, stop arguing. Bai Lulu, just apologize to Su Qing when she gets back."
The dorm president, Cheng Xuening, stepped in to mediate.
Bai Lulu nodded and said nothing more, though her expression was grim.
When Su Qing went downstairs with her phone, she discovered Jiang Sui wasn't there. Instead, she saw the person she least wanted to see.
Li Xu, wearing a hat, didn't expect to actually be able to get Su Qing down.
He lifted the brim of his hat and rushed out from the shade of a nearby tree.
It was noon, and there were hardly any people around.
Su Qing didn't even think twice. The moment she saw Li Xu again, she ran towards the dormitory without even looking up.
But her movements were nowhere near as fast as Li Xu.
Her mouth was covered.
"Su Qing, you'd better not shout, understand!"
Su Qing's eyes widened, and she stared at Li Xu in complete fear.
The boy's pupils held a sinister look.
"Su Qing, you said that woman is gone, so what? Why are you stirring up trouble and bringing up old things?"
His words were fierce and extreme.
His face bore a few unknown scars, giving him a fierce look.
Su Qing was a little frightened, in the shadows of the woods.
Her eyes were filled with tears, terrified.
"Su Qing, why don't you go down and stay with her?"
As the sky darkened, Su Qing felt a slight pain in her stomach.
It felt like something was being torn apart.
She grabbed Li Xu's arm tightly, but the boy pulled her away...
