Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 Cannot Mess With Him

Su Qing had just arrived and wasn't used to the dampness of the place, making her sleep uncomfortable. Furthermore, she had a particularly bad dream. Thinking of it, Su Qing frowned, a faint dark blue hue appearing under her eyes.

She had been having these recurring dreams recently. Su Qing got up and opened the window. Today was still a foggy day, with a fine, drizzling rain.

Su Qing pinched her nose and took a breath. The chill gave her an unexplained shiver. She went to the kitchen and began to boil some medicine.

Cough, cough, cough.

A heavy cough echoed. "Nannan, I can make the medicine myself. You can go to school, right?" Su Rao wasn't feeling well, and this weather was even worse for her. The damp air only exacerbated her illness.

Su Rao's words were filled with apology for her daughter.

The girl fiddling with the medicine jar tightened her grip. "It's still early." Her voice was clear and soft, refusing to be rejected. Su Rao knew Su Qing's temperament well. The girl, as gentle and soft as river water, possessed a stubbornness unbecoming of her age. Su Rao sighed softly and remained silent until the girl was about to leave. Then, she spoke again, "Qing Qing, get along well with your classmates at school."

She knew her own body all too well. The people here were simple and honest, and she hoped her daughter would live well and have a smooth life!

"Mom, take good care of yourself. Everything will heal if it can."

Su Qing's voice was so low and deep that it was hard to discern her emotions. With clear eyes, she carried the medicine bowl to Su Rao's bedside. Her face was beautiful and calm, making Su Rao feel both relieved and heartbroken.

"Mom sorry you..."

"Mom!"

The girl's brows furrowed, her eyes brightening slightly, her fingertips turning blue. "Okay, Mom won't say any more. Everything will heal. Our daughter says it can, so it can." Su Rao grasped the girl's hand and gently stroked it. A smile crept into her pale face, and she looked a little healthier.

Su Rao's illness wasn't anything serious; it was a heartache. She'd escaped that place, but the memories wouldn't let her go. Su Qing bit her lip. She didn't want Su Rao to leave her, not even for one more day.

Su Qing's heart was as still as a bowl of water. She just wanted to take good care of Su Rao and wait patiently for the college entrance exam to be over.

When she arrived at the classroom, the person behind Su Qing's seat hadn't arrived yet.

Su Qing felt a little uneasy.

She didn't go to the rooftop. Su Qing pinched the tip of her pen, her hair hanging down, half covering her face. She didn't know what would happen.

Until Liu Ranran arrived and whispered in her ear, "Qing Qing, let me tell you, that guy behind us yesterday broke the railing on the roof of our teaching building."

Who, if not Jiang Sui, broke the railing on the rooftop...?

Swish...

Su Qing's handwriting had a small scratch on it; the thin paper couldn't withstand it, leaving a small tear.

Liu Ranran didn't notice Su Qing's annoyance and continued, "Qing Qing, it's said someone on the rooftop was fighting with Jiang Sui for territory. I guess that's why the railing got kicked in."

"So I have a feeling Jiang Sui is in a bad mood. We'd better not provoke him." She kindly reminded Su Qing. Her gossip came from all over the place, but it was still very accurate.

Su Qing bit her lip and tilted her head, wanting to ask what to do if, it seemed, she had already provoked him...

As the saying goes, enemies often meet on a narrow road. Speak of the devil, and he will appear.

Unexpectedly, today Jiang Sui entered the classroom through the front door.

A boy in a school uniform walked over from a distance. His zipper was halfway open, revealing a beautiful white shirt. The top button was unbuttoned, revealing a strikingly handsome face.

Because it was raining, Jiang Sui didn't carry an umbrella. As he passed by Su Qing's desk, he deliberately shook his damp hair...

Tiny raindrops landed on the back of Su Qing's hand, the desk, and her textbook. Liu Ranran shrank back, glancing at Jiang Sui, not daring to speak.

Su Qing lowered her brows, pursed her lips, and with her slender arms, she reached into her schoolbag for a small handkerchief and handed it to Liu Ranran. "Wipe it," she said softly.

She had gotten herself into trouble.

Liu Ranran simply thought that voice was so damn beautiful... She wasn't just a face-lover, she was also a hand-lover, and even more so, an auditory creature. She needed little boys and little girls every day, amsr!

"Qing Qing, you're so kind... baa"

"Heh..."

With a cold laugh, before Liu Ranran could take the handkerchief from Su Qing's hand, Su Qing felt a touch of coldness brush against her fingertips. The handkerchief had already been taken away by Jiang Sui, who was standing in front of the table.

"Since the new classmates are so eager to help each other, I won't be polite."

His eyes fixed on her, the broken brows at the ends appearing arrogant and sinister, and there was a streak of blood on the tip of his nose. With a glance at her, Jiang Sui's breath turned colder. He took the handkerchief in his hand and sat down at his seat.

Meanwhile, the table had also been moved forward, leaving Su Qing with a smaller space. She pursed her lips, said nothing, and found two tissues in her bag before cleaning the water droplets from the table.

"Qing Qing." Liu Ranran had no idea what was ailing Jiang Sui, only that the demon king was not to be trifled with. "Are you alright?"

Su Qing shook her head.

Though it was raining in September, a sweltering heat permeated the air. She wore a flawless white dress, and Jiang Sui had just splashed quite a few drops of water on her.

The thin clothing, stained with water droplets, revealed a faint glimpse of her skin. Jiang Sui could see it immediately, his eyes flashing with an unprecedented irritation. He put the strangely fragrant handkerchief into his pocket, then unzipped his own clothes and, draping his school uniform over Su Qing's head, threw it all over her.

"Ah..."

The girl's voice was startled and light. Su Qing grabbed a handful of it, only then seeing it was a school uniform, white and blue striped. She could still smell the faint scent of cigarette smoke from it as she held it in her hands.

Pinching... at a loss, she gently turned her head, intending to place the clothes on Jiang Sui's desk.

The boy, now out of uniform, was wearing a simple white shirt, his sleeves unbuttoned. He rested his head on his elbows, leaning lazily. When she turned her head, he stared at her intently, her thin lips pale and colorless, his fingers lightly tapping the tabletop.

"Put it on."

His voice sounded incredibly overbearing.

...

Su Qing frowned, silently glancing at Jiang Sui with bewilderment. She quickly folded Jiang Sui's clothes, neatly placing them on the table, then quickly turned away.

That should be it, Su Qing breathed a sigh of relief. She pinched her fingertips, her heart pounding.

Soft as cotton, Jiang Sui held his breath, looking at the neatly folded clothes and pinching his brow.

Does he look ferocious, or something?

He poked the girl in front of him again with the tip of his pen.

Su Qing bit her lip, not daring to react, her eyelashes trembling.

After a moment, a small, curved piece of paper was tossed onto her desk, a tiny ball.

"Qing Qing, is this yours?" Liu Ranran could tell the person behind her was deliberately causing trouble, but she didn't dare to speak or ask.

Jiang Sui handed her another note.

Su Qing shook her head and casually put the note in the drawer.

The person behind her, seemingly impatient, gently poked Su Qing's back and tugged at her hair until she read the note.

"Your white clothes are wet. You don't know what can see, do you? ^-^"

Su Qing's spine stiffened as she stared at the water droplets on her sleeves. In southern weather, even the slightest bit of moisture was difficult to dry. She bit her lip, her face grimacing, at a loss as Liu Ranran handed her the clothes from behind. The faint scent of tobacco lingered at her nose.

"Qing Qing, put it on." Ranran, the mature student, clearly understood.

But, Jiang is a mysophobe!

Su Qing didn't think it was a big deal until get out of class was over, so she folded his clothes and put it on the seat behind her. Jiang Sui wasn't there, so she breathed a sigh of relief before Liu Ranran pulled her to the bathroom.

"Qing Qing, I think Jiang Sui treats you differently!" Liu Ranran blinked, her curiosity flaring.

Jiang isn't the helpful classmate. She pondered this all morning, and the more she thought about it, the more she felt something was amiss. Of course, her gossip couldn't be turned off.

"I saw the little note Jiang Sui left for you. Huh, huh, huh, Qing Qing, are you both .....?"

"And you're wearing Jiang Sui's clothes! Wow, if his suitors find out, Qing Qing, you're in danger!"

Su Qing shook her head. "That's not the case..."

"Don't talk nonsense..."

The girl waved her hands in embarrassment, while Su Qing glared at her, clarifying, "Okay, I get it. Don't worry, I won't say anything!"

The girl's gossipy nature, accompanied by an "I get it, I get it" expression, left Su Qing speechless. Helplessly, she could only look visibly bewildered, her face a pristine expression.

Jiang Sui, emerging from the men's restroom, had just witnessed this scene. He licked the back of his teeth and, passing the two, said, "It's not that. What's that? Hmm?"

Su Qing's face flushed instantly, her fair skin a faint pink. She pinched Liu Ranran's arm with her fingers, her pupils glazed. Then, stunned, she grabbed Liu Ranran and ran to the toilet.

Liu Ranran went in, and Jiang Sui hooked his arm around her.

She looked at Jiang Sui's arrogant and handsome face and couldn't help but pinch her fingertips. "Jiang, I..."

She hadn't even uttered an apology. It wasn't anything serious, and she didn't want him to misunderstand her. It didn't seem like she had provoked him.

But the ringing of the class bell interrupted Su Qing's words.

Her seat was right in front of his.

Jiang Sui could see it with a glance: a fair neck, a slender back, incredibly thin.

What kind of fate was this? A ripple, then a magnificent surge. Jiang Sui knew he was possessed, just like his mother.

Jiang Sui rubbed his fingertips irritably, even the soft cat paw prints on his feet began to itch. Something flashed through his mind, and an unknown anger welled up in Jiang Sui's heart, spreading throughout his body.

At this moment, Jiang Sui didn't realize it, but he had been poisoned at first sight, a poison that had taken root in his heart, never to be escaped.

If this isn't love at first sight, what is it?

Su Qing finally found peace.

She returned home, unfolded her English textbook, and prepared to do her homework when she saw a few words written on it.

Step on me?

Avoid me?

You know the milk tea shop in front of the school? I'll be waiting for you there for evening study tomorrow.

The writing was sharp and domineering.

Who else could it be but Jiang Sui!

Su Qing pinched her fingertips, knowing that this time, she couldn't ignore it anymore.

She rubbed her brows, glancing at the blue school uniform hanging on the windowsill. Her mind was in a tizzy.

"Throw it away after wearing it?"

Jiang Sui's menacing voice still lingered in her ears.

She was afraid, so she had no choice but to bring the boy's uniform back and wash it.

She bit her lip. That dazzling and dangerous boy—she couldn't afford to mess with him, and she didn't want to.
