Selsetine showed me love beyond my expectations. She was a real pillar to me , emotionally, during the period of my trial.
It was on December 7th, a holiday, I had invited friends, family and all who stood by me to celebrate with me.
We closed the celebrations around 4pm, by 6pm all the guest were gone and it was just a few friends, my lawyer and Selestine who were still left.
We sat in the hall, spoke about the whole trial, made fun of some of the nervous moments, especially the frightening looks on my face during our court appearance. Right in the middle of the moment, I heard a knock on the door.
I wondered who that could be, the celebrations were done on the main compound, none of the guests entered the main house, so probably no one would have left anything behind. Selestine was the closest to the door, she opened it, and there was Casandra right at the door.
She rushed me to, gave me a firm hug, knelt before and started to apologise. The whole room went quite, they were all waiting for my reaction. They all knew the story of how she left me to dry when my issue started.
I asked her to stand up, I hugged her, kissed her on the forehead, held her by left hand and made her stand on my left side. I saw the look on Casandra's face change. I knew for sure, she was saying to herself, why the hell will I accept her back?
So I started talking, since all present were desperate to hear what I had to say. So I started;
" Casandra, was the only woman I have ever loved in my life and still love. She was my heart beat and meant so much to me. But when things got hard she left me alone. I understand why she did that, she was under pressure from another man. I just want all here present to know that I have forgiven her and do not hold any grudge against her.
I left her hand and walked towards Selestine.
I then continue speaking looking at Selestine right in the eye; "when Casandra gave up on me, you stood by me and showed me love when I had nothing, Cassandra is back today because things are good again, she will leave again when things get bad. That is not the kind of woman I want to spend the rest of my life with. I need a Selestine, so one who will stand by me no matter what...
Going down on one knee and reaching out for her hands; I asked the unexpected question; Selestine; will you marry me?
