Ren woke to sunlight prying through the thin paper shutters and the persistent, dull ache of his body reminding him of last night's training. Not the sharp sting of fresh wounds, but the heavy, leaden soreness that clung to every joint.
He groaned and swung his legs over the side of the futon.'So this is what Duy calls a "warm-up"? Pretty sure that was a war crime.'
The man had insisted they do laps around Konoha — twice. Then handstand push-ups until their arms shook, tree-punching drills until their knuckles stung raw, and a bizarre exercise where they had to carry heavy logs up a hill while shouting YOUTH! until their lungs burned.
Ren had gone along with it partly out of politeness, partly out of curiosity. Now, he was paying for it.
Still… he felt good. Achy, yes, but also alive.
The Academy
The classroom smelled faintly of chalk and old wood. Haruto Uchiha was already at his desk, methodically laying out a stack of shuriken on a cloth like they were rare treasures. His black eyes flicked up when Ren walked in, and a tiny smirk tugged at his lips.
"You're limping," Haruto observed flatly.
Ren raised an eyebrow. "Not limping. Strategic pacing."
From two desks away, Akemi Inuzuka leaned forward, her short, messy brown hair sticking up like she'd just gotten out of a fight. "Strategic pacing my butt. You look like you fought a bear and lost."
Ren opened his mouth to retort, but Sayori Hyūga beat him to it without even glancing up from the notebook she was scribbling in.
Sayori Hyūga sat in the row ahead of them, glancing back with her pale, pupil-less eyes. "Excessive physical strain without proper recovery is counterproductive, you should rest" she said in her flat, matter-of-fact tone.
Ren turned toward her. "Morning to you too, Sayori."
She didn't respond, still scribbling, but the corner of her mouth twitched upward — the Hyūga equivalent of a laugh.
Before Ren could say anything else, their teacher Arisan walked in, tall and thin with a clipboard tucked under his arm.
"Alright, today's warm-up is footwork drills and basic projectile practice," Arisan announced. "Pair up."
Ren found himself partnered with Haruto for the morning. The boy moved like water — fluid, precise, and frustratingly hard to catch off-balance. Every time Ren thought he'd read his movement, Haruto adjusted, sliding just out of reach.
"You're telegraphing your steps," Haruto said after a particularly embarrassing stumble. "If you want to keep up, keep your shoulders loose."
"Noted," Ren said, biting back his irritation. He adjusted his stance and tried again. The next few steps were cleaner, but Haruto still danced around him.
They switched to shuriken practice. Haruto, of course, nailed three dead-center hits in a row without even looking smug. Ren managed two solid hits, one slightly off. Haruto didn't comment — which somehow made it worse.
Meanwhile, Akemi was daring Sayori to hit the target with her eyes closed. Sayori refused, which only made Akemi try it herself — and miss entirely, nearly hitting one of the wooden posts behind the targets.
Arisan had black lines on his face at their antics. "Akemi, since you are having so much fun, stay and clean up afterwards.." he said to which Akemi did an over the top sigh as her hands limped to the ground. Arisen then looked at Ren. "Remember, your grip and release matter as much as your aim."
"Yes sensei." Ren said and kept practicing with Harutos help.
The Quiet Corner
During their short break, Ren drifted toward the far edge of the training yard, under the shade of a tall oak.He crouched, inhaled deeply, and placed his hands together.
Alright. Focus.
He pictured the shuriken in his mind — not just the shape, but the feel: the balance in the palm, the subtle shift of weight between the points, the faint metallic gleam. He wove chakra into the image, carefully guiding it through the threads of intent and control that defined his Energy Weaver ability.
The construct began to take shape between his fingers — faintly glowing blue at first, edges sharpening, form solidifying. Usually, this was where it began to waver and fall apart.
Not this time.
The glow dimmed, and the shuriken's weight settled fully into his palm. Cold. Solid. Real.
Ren's breath caught. The difference was immediate — it wasn't draining his chakra anymore. It had separated.
The Test
"Whoa… did you make that?"
Ren looked up. Akemi was standing a few steps away, arms crossed. Sayori stood beside her, expression unreadable.
Ren considered lying, but shrugged instead. "Just practicing something."
Akemi stepped forward. "Let me try."
Reluctantly, Ren handed her the weapon. Her eyes widened. "Feels… normal." She spun it once, then threw it toward the nearest target. It struck just shy of center and fell to the ground
Sayori tilted her head slightly, pale eyes fixed on the faint shimmer of chakra clinging to it. "That isn't from the weapons rack."
Before Ren could answer, the shuriken flickered — and dissolved into faint wisps of chakra.
Akemi blinked. "…Okay, that's weird."
Ren forced a small laugh. "Guess it wasn't as sturdy as I thought." 'I should probably keep this private'
Inside, though, his mind was racing. This was his first complete construct — stable enough to exist apart from him and even be used by someone else.
From across the yard, Arisan's sharp gaze lingered on the three of them. He'd noticed Ren's unusual precision before, but this… this was different. That brief chakra signature before the shuriken vanished wasn't normal Did he learn the a Jutsu already? Maybe the Uchiha kid thought him a clone Jutsu?
He didn't call Ren out, but made a quiet note in his mind.
Later that day, Arisan reported to the Hokage."That is this months report on Class 1 Hokage-sama" he said, "There are a few exceptional students in class 1" Arisan then began introducing the *big 4* as the kids called them during class. "Lastly is Ren Zuki, the boy's control and and strength are progressing faster than expected, he is slowly catching up with the clan kids. He practices often with the other 3."
Hiruzen Sarutobi leaned back in his chair, pipe in hand. "Alright, you are dissmissed."
Arisan nodden and left the building
The Hokage's eyes narrowed faintly. "Panda"
A shadow detached itself from the corner of the office. A masked ANBU knelt.
"Find out more about all 4 of them, even the Uchiha, he seems to be similar to Kagami." Hiruzen said
The ANBU bowed and vanished without a sound.
That night, Ren sat on the roof of his home, knees drawn up, eyes on the distant glow of the Hokage Monument.
Six years. That's all the time he had before the war began — if things followed the same timeline he remembered.Enough to prepare, but only if he didn't waste a single day.
He thought of the shuriken earlier. The way it had felt real. The way it had lasted… until the chakra ran out.
Incomplete is useless. Complete is survival.
His ability's limit was clear: the stronger and larger the construct, the more chakra it demanded. And his current reserves? Pathetic. Most kids grew their chakra naturally with age. But with targeted training, he could push it further — maybe 50% more by graduation. In a fight, that difference could mean everything.
And this is just a basic Shurikan, what if i make those fantasy item, like health potions or mana potions, what about items from video games or from other animes or movies.. so much potential, it is a shame that i do not have an OP Bloodline to complement it such as the Uzumaki
He clenched his fists. No matter, once i can make magical items this will be even stronger.
Ren focused and tried to create a Yugioh card, without any intent, just the overview and it was solidified easily.
So items that have no powers or no chakra or are just basic paper in this case are easy to make. He then tried to create the same card *Red Medicine* Which was a spell card that granted 500 Life Points, however the moment Ren put the "Special power" command in the weaving of the card his chakra rappidly deplited, it ran out instantly, and the seethrough card just disolved into chakra,
"haaah Haaah haaaah" Ren gasped as his body shook oke, dont bite more than you can, i got no chakra at all as a base and i try create potions... if we say 1 adult Kakashi is 1000 Kakashi unit of chakra, then right now i am at 2 Kakashi Units.
