Chapter 109 - Chapter 109: Mirajane’s Transformation

After Mirajane finished venting her emotions and wiped her tears with the back of her hand, she straightened her posture and asked her younger siblings:

"Who in the guild taught you Take Over magic? We should thank him."

"It was Noah," Lisanna explained. "After hearing our story, he said that only if Sister Mira accepted her magic could her arm return to normal. After that, we decided to learn the same magic as you. When we asked Noah for help, he taught us Take Over."

"Noah, huh? Then let's go back together and thank him."

"Mm!"

Hearing their sister say she wanted to go back together, Lisanna and Elfman's faces lit up with relief. They had been so afraid that Mirajane would leave them behind. Seeing her walking with them again made their hearts lighter than ever.

They quickly pulled her along back to the guild and stopped in front of Noah.

"Thank you for teaching Elfman and Lisanna magic," Mirajane whispered.

But Noah simply waved his hand with a smile.

"It's nothing. Many guild members learn magic here. Since your younger siblings wanted to learn, of course I'd teach them. But right now, your emotions are still unstable. Go home and rest for a while."

"Okay. Sister Mira, let's go home first. Thanks, Noah!" Lisanna said cheerfully.

"Thank you," Elfman added sincerely.

With that, the siblings left together.

When Mirajane and her siblings had fled their village, they brought what little family savings they had. After joining Fairy Tail, they used it to rent a small house nearby their new home.

The very next day, Lisanna and Elfman dragged Mirajane back to Noah, eager for her to learn as well.

Mirajane looked embarrassed, but Lisanna pulled her right up to Noah.

Noah didn't say much. He simply handed her a stack of materials he had already prepared.

He knew Mirajane was more literate than her siblings, and since she had been listening in during their lessons anyway, she would be able to follow along. If she didn't understand something, she could just ask directly.

Mirajane's talent far surpassed that of her siblings. Within just a few days, she had mastered the basics of Take Over.

With her family by her side, she finally accepted her magic from the bottom of her heart. Her right arm slowly returned to normal.

When her arm was restored, Lisanna and Elfman burst into tears. Mirajane herself couldn't stop crying either.

Because of that demonic arm, their family had been forced to abandon their home and wander. That single misfortune had changed their entire lives. Now that it was gone, the relief was overwhelming.

Noah didn't disturb them. He quietly continued his studies, waiting until their emotions had settled before resuming their magic lessons.

As Mirajane healed inside and out, her strength began to grow rapidly. With her heart unburdened, her true personality emerged.

No one knew where she picked up the style, but soon Mirajane was dressing like a little delinquent. She grew feisty and combative, often clashing with Erza and Sorano.

Many times, Mirajane's challenges or Sorano's provocations pulled Ultear into the fights as well, since she was just as stubborn and never backed down.

One day, Noah was reading a book when the familiar sound of another brawl broke out nearby. With a sigh, he set his book down, pointed at the rampaging Mirajane, and asked Lisanna, who was watching from the side:

"Has your sister always been like this? Or did she only become this way after joining the guild?"

"It feels like several years have passed… how could she change like this in the blink of an eye?" Noah muttered, watching Mirajane brawl with the others.

Lisanna looked exasperated, then leaned closer and whispered to him:

"My sister used to be like the big sister to all the kids in our village. But after that incident, she was traumatized and shut herself off. Now that she's healing, this is probably her real self coming back out."

Noah nodded. That made sense. Such a drastic change didn't happen without reason. Hearing Lisanna's explanation, Mirajane's behavior seemed perfectly understandable.

Suddenly, a loud whistle cut through the air. A water cup came hurtling toward Noah at high speed. He raised a finger, and the cup instantly slowed down, drifting harmlessly to the table.

Turning his head, Noah saw Mirajane, Erza, Ultear, and Sorano in the middle of a wild fight. He couldn't tell who had thrown the cup, but the four of them had nearly demolished everything around them. If it kept up, the entire guild hall would be in danger.

With a sigh, Noah teleported all four straight to the training ground, leaving them to fight as much as they wanted.

Then he looked at Lisanna and Elfman.

"You two should also head to the training grounds. Train a little yourselves and make sure to keep an eye on your sister."

"Okay!" the siblings replied in unison.

Noah snapped his fingers and sent them after Mirajane. With that, the guild finally grew quiet again.

He picked his book back up and started reading. Nearby, Levy who had been studying her own text walked over with a question.

Having been at Fairy Tail for a while now, she already knew that Noah was the most knowledgeable and well-read member in the guild. As someone who loved books herself, she naturally came to him often for explanations.

Levy's magic was "Solid Script," perfectly suited to her passion for reading and studying ancient texts. By writing words into the air, she could turn them into three-dimensional letters that manifested their meaning.

For example, writing "FIRE" in Western script would cause blazing letters to appear in the air, erupting into actual flames.

Thanks to her love of learning, even though she had only recently started practicing magic, her progress was already impressive.

Noah patiently answered Levy's questions, then returned to his book. But before long, another quarrel broke out in the guild.

This time, it was Natsu and Gray arguing again. Lyon had somehow gotten dragged into it as well.

"Tch…"

Having been interrupted twice in a row, Noah's patience wore thin. He closed his book with a snap. With a wave of his hand, a different book floated out of the guild library.

Handing it to Levy, he said, "Most of your questions are answered in here. Take your time and read through it. I'll deal with a few people first."

"Alright. Good luck…" Levy replied, looking at him with pity.

Noah walked over to the scuffling trio. Without hesitation, he planted a fist squarely into each of them, knocking all three flat before they could react.

"Well, I'm in a generous mood today," Noah said coolly, ignoring their groans. "So I've decided to help you with some extra training. You should be grateful."

Their terrified expressions didn't move him in the slightest. With another snap of his fingers, Noah teleported himself and the three bruised troublemakers to the training ground.

When they finally returned in the evening, the entire guild burst out laughing. Natsu, Gray, and Lyon staggered in with swollen heads, bruised noses, and battered faces, barely able to support each other as they walked.

The guild roared with laughter, while the three gritted their teeth in humiliation.
