With a voice full of reverence, Vog shouted his prayer.
A holy light of life burst forth from the staff in his hand, pouring over every follower present.
Bathed in the radiance, the wounded watched their injuries close at a speed visible to the naked eye. Those unhurt felt an incredible clarity settle over their minds, their bodies refreshed and brimming with energy.
The effect stunned the shallow believers in the room. Unlike the devout and the faithful, these "shallow believers" had never once received a blessing. They had always kept a seed of doubt toward the so-called Lord of Life. But under this light, they felt His divine power in the flesh.
It was something beyond any faith they had ever known—a truth that could be felt, not just told.
This world had no shortage of gods and spirits, but all were distant, untouchable. Legends only. No one had ever truly witnessed a god's manifestation.
The Lord of Life was different.
He had just shown His might openly.
You could fake words. You could fake rituals. But you could not fake wounds closing before your eyes—especially when it was your own body healing.
This… was a miracle.
A real miracle.
In that instant, every shallow believer was transformed into a devout one.
Humans are greedy by nature, drawn to benefit. Most faiths had always been hollow, intangible—something you dusted off only in times of trouble. But this was different. The followers of the Life Temple now knew their god was real. He could grant tangible blessings. Their faith was now rooted in the deepest part of their hearts.
They were true believers.
Jason Kin felt the change immediately.

"Not bad at all. Over a hundred new true believers and dozens of devout ones in one stroke. Looks like Vog's really putting in the work."
In a single day, Jason Kin had gained nearly thirteen hundred faith points. Before, his daily intake had been around eight hundred. At this pace, the day he could condense his divine power was rapidly approaching.
"If one priest can accelerate faith gathering this much… I'll need a few more. With more priests, the flock will grow even faster."
His eyes shifted to Effie. As an Apostle, she was the perfect candidate for a priestess. He would have to speak with her soon—send her out to gather her own flock.
Inside the temple, Vog's display had transformed almost every shallow believer into a true one. Everyone… except two.
A man in a black tactical suit.
A woman in a skintight black leather outfit, wild and sleek like a panther.
If Jason Kin had been there, he would have recognized them instantly.
Clint Barton. Natasha Romanoff.
S.H.I.E.L.D.'s two top operatives—Hawkeye and Black Widow.
"Got it all on record?" Barton asked, eyes fixed on Vog.
Natasha nodded. "Mm. I thought this was just some stage trick. Didn't expect that light to actually heal some of my old injuries. Not completely… but still impossible by normal means. This guy's no ordinary charlatan."
"Yeah… even some of my old wounds are better. First time in all our missions we've run into something this good, huh?" Barton's tone was calm, but his eyes said otherwise.
Natasha allowed a small smile. "Unbelievable, but definitely a win for us."
"Think he might be a mutant?" Barton guessed.
"If we want to know what he is, that's easy—grab him, bring him in, and study him. That is the mission Fury sent us here for, remember? Anyway, we've got the footage we need. Time to move before Fury starts breathing down our necks."
Natasha rose from the crowd, Barton following suit. Both moved toward Vog.
But before they could act, a sudden commotion erupted. Several people lunged toward Vog first.
