Chapter 1: Reborn—Who Would Still Be a Dog?!

Spirit Hall.

Elder Hall.

"Old Ghost! I didn't expect you to look this young! How can anyone still call you 'Old'? Guess I'll have to change it to 'Little Ghost,' hahahaha!"

It was the first time Yue Guan had ever seen Ghost Douluo's true face, and he couldn't help but be shocked.

After fighting side by side for nearly fifty years, he had never once seen what Ghost looked like.

Ghost Douluo's martial soul was extremely special. Apart from demigod-level beings like Bibi Dong and Qian Daoliu, no one could see his face clearly.

Yet now, standing before Yue Guan was a strikingly handsome young man, no older than sixteen or seventeen.

His features were sharp and defined.

His sword-like brows slanted sharply toward his temples, exuding a fierce and unrestrained aura.

His deep, abyss-like eyes seemed to hide endless secrets—cold and calm, like two bottomless icy pools.

The faint blue hue in his pupils gave him an otherworldly air, as if he could see through all illusions.

His tall, straight nose added to the chiseled perfection of his face, radiating quiet heroism.

Long black hair cascaded over his shoulders, fluttering gently in the breeze, lending him a sense of freedom and wild grace.

Yue Guan stood there dumbfounded, staring at Ghost Douluo as though he were looking at a stranger.

This man, who had fought beside him for half a lifetime, was suddenly someone entirely unfamiliar—handsome, mysterious, and untouchable.

For a brief moment, Yue Guan even doubted reality, as if caught within a surreal dream.

"Hey, Old Chrysanthemum, have you stared long enough?"

Ghost Douluo's teasing tone shattered the silence, dragging Yue Guan back to reality.

Yue Guan coughed lightly, trying to hide his embarrassment.

"Old Ghost, if you hadn't suddenly awakened your second martial soul, I might never have seen that handsome face of yours in this lifetime, hahaha~"

Ghost Douluo smiled faintly and retracted his main martial soul. In the next instant, his face once again blurred, returning to its usual ghostly form.

"Old Chrysanthemum, let's leave Spirit Hall."

Yue Guan froze, lowering his voice nervously.

"What do you mean, Old Ghost? Why would you suddenly say something like that?"

Ever since Old Ghost awakened his second martial soul, he felt… different. There was a sharp, unfathomable edge to him now—almost like he had become another person entirely.

"It's nothing," Ghost Douluo said calmly.

"I'm just tired… tired of being their dog."

Yue Guan sighed helplessly.

"Leave Spirit Hall? And where? Do you think they'd ever let us go?"

Ghost Douluo didn't answer immediately.

After all, he was no longer the same Ghost Douluo as before.

He was a man who had been transmigrated.

In his past life, he had been nothing more than a poor nobody—working himself to death at a young age.

But fate had given him a second chance.

He awoke in the world of Douluo Dalu, reborn in Ghost Douluo's body, inheriting both his memories and his soul.

Even more astonishing, he awakened a second martial soul—his own body.

He knew well that both Ghost Douluo and Yue Guan were born from humble origins, their lives filled with hardship and scorn.

Yet they had never bowed to fate.

Through shared pain and understanding, they had forged a friendship like no other.

Their flawless cooperation birthed the martial soul Fusion Skill—the Polar Static Domain.

Together, they rose to the rank of Titled Douluo and eventually joined Spirit Hall out of necessity.

At first, they served under Qian Xunji, acting as his most trusted subordinates.

After Qian Xunji's death, they obeyed Qian Daoliu's orders to assist Bibi Dong.

Now, Bibi Dong had reached Rank 99, standing at the pinnacle as an Ultimate Douluo—far above them.

To her, they were merely hounds to be ordered around.

To Qian Renxue, their lives were worthless—tools that could be discarded at any moment, even sacrificed to win over her enemy, Tang San.

Neither Bibi Dong nor the Qian family was worthy of their loyalty.

Ghost Douluo knew well—if things followed the original course of fate, he would one day be ambushed and killed by Tang San's Seagod Trident, and Yue Guan would also meet a tragic end at Tang San's hands.

Fortunately, his transmigration came in time. This time, he had a chance to change everything.

Having lived two lives, he understood one truth: fate must be seized by one's own hands!

"Old Ghost, what are you thinking about? Why are you suddenly saying such things?" Yue Guan asked in confusion.

Ghost Douluo's tone was low and grave.

"I had a long… A very long dream. In that dream, we both died at the hands of Tang Hao's son. Spirit Hall was destroyed."

"Tang Hao's son?! You mean that bastard born of Tang Hao and the Blue Silver Emperor?!" Yue Guan's face darkened.

"That's right," Ghost Douluo replied coldly.

"It was him. He inherited the power of the gods… and killed us all."

For a moment, Yue Guan was silent, then let out a small chuckle and shook his head.

"Old Ghost, it was only a nightmare. Don't take it seriously. You're not telling me you'd give up everything we've worked for just because of a dream, are you?"

Ghost Douluo smiled bitterly.

"Even if we're elders of Spirit Hall, aren't we still treated like dogs—summoned and dismissed at will? If not for our martial soul Fusion Skill, they wouldn't even bother remembering our names. Now that I've awakened my second martial soul, I want to live for myself… just once. So tell me, will you come with me?"

Yue Guan froze.

The words struck too suddenly. His mind went blank.

He had clawed his way up from nothing—born into poverty, suffering through countless hardships before finally earning power, honor, and position. How could he simply throw that all away?

What's more, Bibi Dong's current strength was enough to make even them tremble in fear.

They had sworn their loyalty to Spirit Hall.

And the offerings of the Elder Palace—those old monsters like Qian Daoliu—would never forgive betrayal.

Yet Ghost's tone held no trace of jest. He meant every word.

"Old Ghost, don't scare me like that. We've been through life and death together—how could I watch you just walk away? Dreams are only dreams. This—this is reality."

Ghost Douluo's eyes gleamed faintly.

"Then come with me to a place. Once you've seen it, you'll know whether it was a dream… or destiny."

After a long pause, Yue Guan finally sighed.

"Fine. I'll go with you."

At this time, Bibi Dong was in seclusion—training within the Rakshasa Secret Realm, undergoing the trials of the Rakshasa God.

That made it the perfect opportunity to leave.

---

A few days later.

Yue Guan followed Ghost Douluo deep into the Sunset Forest.

"Old Ghost, what are we doing here in Sunset Forest?" Yue Guan asked, puzzled.

"Don't rush. We're not there yet."

As soon as Ghost Douluo spoke, his figure flickered and shot toward the forest's center. Yue Guan quickly followed.

The Sunset Forest wasn't large, and they soon reached its heart—only to be stopped by a thick wall of dark green mist.

The moment Yue Guan felt the sinister energy emanating from it, his expression changed.

"Old Ghost, that's poison… this aura—it's Dugu Bo! That old venomous freak must be nearby!"

Before his words even faded, a long, thin figure stepped out of the toxic fog.

The newcomer was an elderly man clad in a gray robe, his body tall and slender. Long dark-green hair draped down his back, and his green eyes glimmered with a chilling light.

He was none other than the Poison Douluo, Dugu Bo—renowned across the continent for his unmatched mastery of toxins.

Seeing him appear, Yue Guan sneered.

"Well, well, old poison. Long time no see. No wonder no one could find you—you've been hiding here all along."

"Hmph! Chrysanthemum Douluo, you've got quite the nerve finding your way here!" Dugu Bo's voice dripped with venom as the poisonous mist thickened around him.
