Ashley carefully pulled out a small book from her pocket, flipping it open to a specific page. Yuki watched her, curiosity in her eyes.
"What are you doing?" Yuki asked.
Ashley glanced up "I'm looking for something that might help us disrupt Alistair's influence over the town."
Yuki shook her head. "There's nothing you can do. Alistair's is powerful. He's controlling millions of souls, each one as potent as a nuclear bomb. If he gains all that power, he'll be stronger then you can imagine."
Ashley frowned. "But I have to try. My friend is in trouble."
Yuki's expression turned serious. "You can't help him. He's not your friend anymore. Alistair has taken control. Maybe there's a demon inside him or something."
Ashley shook her head. "I don't believe that."
Just then, four soulless humans lunged at them, their movements unnaturally strong. Yuki stepped back, her expression unchanged. "I told you, I'm not going to interfere. You have to handle this yourself."
Ashley glared at her. "Bitch."
In that moment, A human wielding a chainsaw changed at Ashley, Trying to slice her. She dodged swiftly, moving her head just in time, and then punched the human in the chest. But she felt a strange resistance; these humans were stronger then usual.
Yuki watched then explained, "Oh, I forgot to tell you. Since Alistair is controlling then, he's given them an upgrade."
Ashley's eyes narrowed. "Ugh, you're the worst. Now I really hate you."
Just as Ashley was about to turn to Yuki, She frowned and asked, "So... Yuki are you sent by any angel or something?"
Before Yuki could answer, a soulless human suddenly launched at Ashley, Swinging a crowbar straight toward her head.
Ashley dodged.
She dodged again, then leapt into the air. As she rose, She clasped her hands together.
"May God bless these hands," she muttered.
Golden lights burst across her fists.
Mid-air, Ashley slammed her glowing hand straight down, driving the soulless human's head into the ground with crushing force. The body went limp instantly.
She landed smoothly on both feet.
"Ah," Ashley groaned, rolling her shoulders. "These humans are getting really annoying."
She looked at Yuki "Aren't you gonna help me or anything?"
"Nope," Yuki replied calmy. "I'm not allowed to interfere."
Ashley narrowed her eyes. "Oh... so you're an angel?"
"No," Yuki said flatly. "I'm not an angel. And i was never here. Don't tell any angel that I was."
Ashley laughed. "Hey, why shouldn't I--"
She didn't get to finish. Another human jumped at her.
Ashley dodged, grabbing it, and slammed its head into the ground. she lifted it by the arm, smirked, and said, "You guys really like jumping, huh?"
She hurled the body forward, launching it into several other humans.
More come. Hundreds.
Ashley jumped into the air again and slammed her golden fist into the ground. The impact shattered the street, sending a massive shockwave down the roads. The soulless humans were thrown in every direction-slamming into cars, houses and the street.
Most of them didn't get back up. Five of them did.
One of them a girl suddenly rushed toward Yuki.
Yuki didn't move. She only looked at her.
The human froze mid-step... the was violently launched backward-straight toward Ashley.
Ashley stared, confused.
Before she could say anything, another human slammed her to the ground. hands wrapped around her neck, lifting her up. Another punched her hard in the stomach.
Again.
And again.
Each hit made her cough blood.
"I hate these zombies," Ashley spat.
She turned her head toward Yuki. "you're really just gonna stand there and watch me die?"
Yuki shrugged. "I don't care. All you have to do is survive."
Ashley laughed bitterly and shoved the attacker away. "Ah... angels. You're all the same."
Yuki turned and began walking away. "Yeah," she said quietly. "We are."
Ashley staggered forward, then steadied herself. she moved her feet slowly, wiggling them against the ground.
"God bless" she whispered.
She slammed her feel together.
A powerful shockwave exploded outward, sending all five soulless humans flying. Ashley broke free, rushed forward, and punched one of them straight through the core, destroying its head instantly.
She stood up, wiping the black blood from her hand. she licked bit of it and frowned.
"Huh. Taste like joy."
Yuki paused and glanced back. "Huh. You're an odd human, Aren't you?"
Ashley tilted her head. "Human? ...I didn't think i was human."
Four more humans charged at her.
"Ah, damn it," Ashley muttered.
She punched the first one but it didn't fall. They stared at each other for a second.
Another grabbed her arm and yanked her away, throwing her into a car, Ashley slammed against it and dropped to the ground, groaning.
"I hate these zombies," she growled. "why won't they just die already?"
"They're not zombies," Yuki corrected.
Ashley looked at her, confused. "What's the difference?"
"The difference" Yuki said, "Is that zombies are weaker. These are much more powerful."
Ashley waved her hand. "I didn't need an explanation."
Yuki sighed "I think you did. you're dumb."
Ashley looked around at the destruction, then sighed deeply. "so... I'm done playing games," she said.
The moment she spoke, dark chains of energy wrapped around her body. Her entire outfit shifted, turning pitch black, as if shadow itself had woven it around her. Her eyes ignited with a cold blue glow.
She lifted her gaze to the soulless humans.
Ashley raised her hand and pointed at one of them.
Instantly, the human froze. It began choking violently, coughing up thick black blood as its body trembled. slowly, it lifted off the ground, floating helplessly as Ashley raised her finger upwards.
Then she pointed toward a nearby house.
The soulless human was hurled through the air and slammed into the house with overwhelming force, crushing walls and debris alike.
Ashley raised her hand again, lifting three more soulless humans at once. with a sharp motion, she tore them apart mid-air.
She then raised both hands slowly.
"I'm done playing games."
Ashley clenched her fists.
Bones shattered instantly--cracking and splintering in mid-air. Their blood ignited, burning from the inside as their bodies collapsed lifeless to the ground.
Yuki watched, unimpressed.
"Hm. Took you long enough," she said. "you already knew you weren't going to die. Or maybe you just refused to use your powers until now
Ashley didn't look at her.
"I'm done playing games," she said quietly. "I want to save my friend."
she took one step forward-- and a voice spoke behind her.
"Oh? Looks like someone's done playing games," it said "so am I."
Before Ashley could turn around, she was punched hard.
Her body slammed across a car, denting the metal as she groaned. "Again with these cars..."
She lifted her head.
It was him
Larry
She froze, "No..." she whispered. "Larry?"
She tried to speak, Tried to call his name.
He looked at her coldly. "It's me."
the moment he said it, the car exploded.
The blast sent Ashley flying through the air, smoke and debris swallowing her whole.
Yuki's eyes widened in surprise as she started walking toward where Ashley's body had been blasted but Ashley was already standing behind Larry.
She clenched her fist tightly.
"Please," Ashley said softly, her voice shaking "Don't make me hurt you."
Larry rushed at her.
Ashley punched him with everything she had.
The impact shattered the air itself. The force cracking a nearby car in half and sent two other cars flying away like toys.
Larry barely moved.
He stood there, staring at her calmly.
"...Is that the power of God?" He asked.
