The date is Novarelle 17th in the year 782. I lay in my death bed, the sun shining golden through the windows. I feel that today is my last day on this earth. Though I have lived a long 114 years I am not ready to leave this world quite yet.
I can feel myself growing weaker by the second. Suddenly my vision goes black. It was like I was floating in emptiness. There was no warmth nor cold. It was simply empty of everything. Then, I heard a sound. It was something I never heard before. It kept repeating over and over again. Then, a light begin to come into my vision.
It was blinding, like I hadn't looked at any light in years. I blinked repeatedly, adjusting my eyes to the bright light. Once adjusted I looked around. There were tiny clear tubes going into my arm, a metal contraption glowing with a light on it. I sat up but it was harder than I thought. My whole body was weak and my arms were thin like twigs. Basically bone.
The was a stand to my left covered in flowers and notes. I picked up one of the notes but I couldn't recognize the language. I got up from my bed and fell to the ground. My legs couldn't hold my weight. I grab the edge of my bed and pulled myself up, I then began to balance myself. Once I was confident I began to walk towards the door, the tubes popping out of my arm as I reached the door. I open the door and walk into a hall way. The hall way seemed endless in both directions. Hesitantly I leave the room and walk down the hallway. There's dozens of rooms in either side of the hallway, all looking similar to mine. I continue down the hall until I reach a turn. As I go around the corner I see a guy sitting at a desk. I walk up to him to figure out where I am.
"Um, hello sir. Do you mind telling me where I am? I don't seem to recognize this place"
"You're in greenwood hosp-…" he looks up and freezes, eyes widening. "Oh my god, you're up"
"Uh yea? Is being awake rare now?" I scratched the back of my head, confused.
"You were in a coma, for 10 years" The man frantically grabbed some kind of device and started to press buttons on it. I just stared at him confused.
"What are you talking about? I wasn't in a coma, I'm literally a world hero. I mean I single-handedly defeated the demon king."
The man who now had the weird device to his ear looked up at me.
"That's just what your brain made up, you've been in a coma."
I didn't wanna believe it, I was a world hero. Not some crazy person having a dream. I turned and ran towards my room. Once back at the room I awoke in I looked around. There were things I've never seen before. "Could it be true it was all a lie? No.. no it can't be. It was real, they're just lying." I could feel my heart rate increasing. Was I scared?
Right as I began to question everything the man from the desk appeared in the doorway. A woman who I assumed worked in this building was next to him. Along with two men behind them, whom I presumed to be guards of some sort. They took a few steps towards me, but I took as many steps backwards.
"Stay away from me. You're trying to trick me" I backed up against the wall, a window just a few inches to my right.
The man was about to speak but the woman began before him. "Please calm down," she hand her hands open in front of her, like she was trying to calm down a kid throwing a tantrum, "you just woke up from a coma. I don't know what you experienced in that coma but it was real, okay?"
I raise my hand and shoot it out infront of me, stopping them in their tracks before they continue walking, "You're lying, it was real. You're just trying to trick me!"
The were closer now, the guards now walking towards me. "If you don't calm down we're gonna have to restrain you."
"Back up!" As I yell that they freeze before smirking slightly and continuing towards me.
Just before they reach me, something in my head clicks and time began to slow.
There was a spark, not from a fire but from my hand. A few more sparks appeared before a full on ball of fire appeared. I watched both of the guards faces slowly turn towards confusion and shock. Then the fire ball began towards them. Time began to speed up aback to normal. The fireball slammed into the guards and sent them flying back into the wall with an explosion, knocking them out cold. Smoke billowed off of there clothes where the fireball slammed into them. The explosion knocked down everything in the room, it even flipped the bed over. The pressure even made the window explode.
I stood there, frozen. Not from fear or anything but from the fact that they even survived that. Not even mages of moderate magic control could survive that. The man and woman who I know have identified as illusionists stood there frozen.
Before they could even gather their thoughts I jumped out the window. Thank fully I was on the second story so when I landed I didn't get injured. I seemed to have landed in the back of the building. The was a brick wall In front of me with thick hedges growing over top. I went to the wall and climbed over it before pushing myself through the hedges. Once on the other side what I saw stunned me, towers of glowing light reaching the clouds, metal chariots zooming on the ground. No horses or ground dragons pulling them. I was in a completely unfamiliar world.
