Chapter 6 - Chapter Six

Within a vast expanse of the cosmos, a boy tore through waves and waves of living matter, each one bearing the distinct form of serpentine protrusions.

Every strike he made carried with it the raw unfiltered might of Lightning and thunder, tearing apart the scales before dissolving the flesh underneath in a boiling sizzle of baked oily tissue and bone.

Regular shrieks and hissing accompanied every hit as the boy mutilated the gargantuan organism with unrivalled insanity. The Happy grin intertwined with the glowing electric crackle of his eyes displayed plainly for all to see, the benign enigma that was Luck Voltaire.

"I though this would be a challenge. Give me more. More!!"

He screamed to the serpent who could not give any discernible and understandable response, only continuously try with all its might to subdue the Lightning mage with the regular jabs at his head through it's spatial rifts attacks and the corrosive fluid marbles that was degenerate volume.

Still it was obvious that the serpent wasn't Luck's main target, it was the elusive figure behind the dark veil. Who simply watches the massacre and cries of the serpentine form without any emotion or compulsion to action.

It was nestled above the flowing waves of serpentine mass, far away from Luck's reach, safe and unstained by the chaos underneath.

"You there, come down and fight me. I know you are strong!!"

The Tall masculine blackness in the shape of a Human male tilted it's head sideways as if in confusion as it gave a reply in form of a vast ethereal voice that seemed to reverberate in every corner of this strange cosmos.

"If I come will it make you satisfied? Tell me Little one, if all of us came down upon you in battle. Will our defeat grant you the release you so desire?"

Luck in heated frenzy of battle yelled,

"Yes, it will make me happy. Come at me with everything you got"

"I see, maybe then your mother will finally be proud of you. Won't she?"

These words hit Luck square in the chest. This Tenebrous being somehow knew of his mother and his everlasting drive to please her soul through his countless victories.

This was one of the only things he held as sacred to his heart, if something like this could see into this then it was probably far beyond anything he could ever manage.

This realisation didn't dim his flame in any way, only ignite it further. He felt an insane urge to fight it, one that was almost overwhelming.

"Come and let's find out"

Luck told the figure as he sliced a pile of snake matter with a lightning plasma arc.

An Electric Hum came from the figure causing the serpentine mass beneath it and Luck to dissipate, leaving Luck and the Figure suspended over an endless abyss of iridescent fractal patterns and flowing symbols suspended in an ocean of cosmic energy.

The Stark contrast in the environment was disorienting but Luck braved on ready for his next match.

The Space in front of him bubbled before a woman sprang from the chaotic fluctuations, fully formed and nude.

Luck instantly recognised this person, it was his mother, alive and standing before him.

"My Precious son"

....

Finral slashed his katana at a long strand of pythons, slicing the heavy bunch in half with focused precision. He wasn't much of a fighter but if a situation was dire enough, anyone could become anything.

Vanessa on the other hand, tried and failed repeatedly to suspend the apostle with her threads. The Static over body corrupted her magic turned it into more of it's mass before sending pangs of pain into her skull.

Vanessa looked at the tips of her fingers now painted black with subtle hints of scales growing, the static was corrupting her.

Coupled with the fact that her Mana would finish before long, they needed to make a plan for escape soon. That was what the apostle wanted for them to be in a completely defenseless postition while it mutilated them.

It wasn't in an act of cruelty but a way of giving these brave souls a chance to fight back before meeting their end. A Glorious death in service of their values, one of the little things he enjoyed as he and his irk worked towards making the world meet it's end.

So he watched their struggle as a towering mass of intertwined serpents with a crimson glow in his eyes. Finral took in a deep breath as he shifted his gaze to a tall cross in the distance from which his most treasured comrade hung helplessly from.

He was even more worried about Noelle. Yami had left this blade with him, symbolising a passage of title. He wanted to be happy for this promotion but the cost it came with was too high. Magna. Yami. Gone just like that.

He had studied the attack patterns of the apostle so he knew that their assailant was holding back if not he would have reduced them in gore within seconds.

Finral teleported with Angel's Heartbeat and grabbed Vanessa before disappearing again in a burst of green light.

They appeared at the camp where the rest stared happily at their arrival but they didn't receive any second of recompense before a long strand of pythons grabbed both of them and pulled them through the cervices in the spacetime structure back to the battle ground from which they left.

Leaving the rest in shock at what they saw. Charmy, Gauche and Grey didn't waste any more time waiting for their return. Grey secured the unconscious bodies of Yami, Magna and Gordon by turning them in pearls then stuffing them in Charmy chest pocket under her coat.

Gauche had a glimpse of Finral with his magic item eye, so he was able to create a duplicate with the exact abilities needed to teleport them.

"We don't have much time. Let's go"

Charmy said to her subordinates, prompting them to action. But another unfamiliar voice came from behind.

"Yes. We don't"

The Space behind them erupted into a writhing malestrom of an unknown energetic foamy aberration in the form of spiralling fractal patterns as it tore apart completely revealing another man dressed in a priestly garment.

"I will escort you to meet Yules and the Boy if you don't mind"

Charmy didn't wait, she created a piece of corn and ate it causing her body to grow into a hulking bulge as she launched herself at the newcomer.

"Gauche. Grey. Go!!"

'Food Magic: Endless Variety- Feast of the Juggernaut'

Gauche commanded the doppelganger to open the portal which he and Grey ran into leaving Charmy to deal with the new assailant.

They heard a Loud bang just as a dust cloud swept across the area just before they disappeared from sight.

But their troubles didn't end there, the Cave should have gone out of view given that they were sent to a location far from it but instead what they saw challenged their understanding of reality.

"Distortion- Astral Shift: Inverted Eclipse"

They watched the universe tear apart and reform with all their respective locations altered to be within a walking distance from the cave.

Charmy was knocked away by the priest and landed near Vanessa. Her hulky figure relaxed back into her now somewhat taller miniature form with a growing part of her body bubbling and reforming with a clear colour of static like an unstable liquid.
