What's going on? Harriet thought in confusion. Where is Mama?
Harriet woke up in her Uncle Remus's arms. She could hear Harry and another unfamiliar voice nearby. Remus, who had been talking, paused and looked down to find Harriet awake. "Hey, Bambi, you're awake," he said with a gentle smile.
She smiled back, still sleepy, and rubbed her eyes.
"Oh? She's awake?"
"Yes. Wanna hold her?"
"Of course! I always wanted to meet little Harriet!"
Harriet blinked as she was passed over to someone else and found herself in the arms of an elderly woman.
"Oh! She looks like Lily."
"I know, right? Harry takes after James, but Harriet takes after Lily—except for her pink hair."
"It is quite odd. I don't remember a Potter with pink hair. Although I wouldn't be surprised—James's mother was a Black."
Harriet didn't recognize this elderly woman. Was she her grandmother? No… she didn't resemble Mama or Papa.
"Hello, little one," the woman said warmly. "I am Professor Minerva. I was your father's teacher… and soon, one day, when you come to Hogwarts with your brother, I'll be your teacher too."
"Pa… Ma…" Harriet blinked. "Tweach…?"
Remus and Minerva both gasped.
"Merlin's beard! Lily wasn't joking!?" Remus thought Lily was pulling his leg when she told him how smart Harriet was. "Damn, I owe James a gallon."
"Language, Lupin!"
"Ah, sorry, Professor."
"Ma…?" Harriet struggled to look around, but Minerva had a firm hold on her. "Ma!"
"Calm down, Harriet. Mama went to see a friend. She'll be here soon."
"Oh…"
Minerva looked amazed. "You can understand what I'm saying?"
Harriet just blinked and sucked her thumb. Nah, I'm a baby. Innocent, cutie, and cuddly baby.
"She's gonna end up in Ravenclaw," Remus said, rocking his nephew. "Or maybe Hufflepuff."
"Or Gryffindor, but I understand your point… She might indeed end up in Ravenclaw…"
Both adults looked toward the fireplace as Lily stepped out and walked over to them. "They're okay… Frank wasn't badly injured, and Alice too… I still cannot believe they're gonna let Malfoy off the hook when he was obviously blasting the Muggles left and right!" She sounded so pissed off.
Muggles? Ah, that's the term for non-magical folks, Harriet remembered from what her uncle told her. James and her uncles often told Harry and Harriet about their adventures at Hogwarts.
"Of course they're gonna let him get away," Remus said bitterly. "He's got money in his pocket."
"Alastor is after him as we speak... If he doesn't get caught I am gonna hex Malfoy myself," Lily mutters darkly as she sits beside Remus and sighs. "We also were told to stay here... Dumbledore says it's not good for me to leave the house... or anyone to come..."
"He's not wrong," Minvera stood up. "I must head back to Hogwarts. The exams of seventh-year students need to be prepared." She walked over to Lily and handed the child to her. "Maybe if I get time, I'll come and visit."
"You are always welcome here, Professor."
Harriet looked at Minvera. "Bay..." She waved.
Minvera's heart melted at the innocence. She leaned down and kissed her forehead. "Goodbye, Harriet. I'll see you soon." With that said, she walked over to the fireplace, grabbed the powder, and threw it in. "Headmaster's Office, Hogwarts!" With that, she stepped in the flames and disappeared.
"I should get going as well," Remus looked regretful. "I need to do something and—"
"It's fine, Remus." Lily took Harry from him. "I trust you unlike those two idiots... If you need anything let me know, okay?"
"I wish I could tell you..."
"I won't force you... But Remus... whatever you are doing... be careful."
"I will."
Harriet was confused. What's going on?
"See you later, Bambi, cub." He gave them each kisses on their cheeks. "Uncle has something to take care of... I promise I'll explain when I get back..."
Harriet held her hand out to him. "Moone...?"
"Mooney has to go, Bambi..."
"No..."
Remus grabbed her hand and kissed it. "Uncle Mooney will be back... I promise. I'll even tell you a story about Snow White and seven goblins... You like that one, don't you?"
Harriet feels like if she doesn't stop him, she might never see him again. Remus lets go of her and walks away. Lily holds her children tightly; she can tell whatever Remus is doing, it's under Dumbledore's orders.
Recently, Remus has been going out a lot and doesn't explain where he's going. James and Sirius are starting to doubt Remus. It's so stupid! Remus is their best friend—he's been since Hogwarts. Just because he's a werewolf doesn't mean he changed sides with that freak of nature.
Werewolves have taken sides with Voldemort, and James and Sirius think Remus might be working with those werewolves. It's unbelievable.
"Your papa and Uncle Padfoot are so stupid, Harriet, Harry..." Lily mumbles tiredly.
'Why? Did something happen?' Harriet looks at her mama. 'What happened? Come on! Tell me! Don't leave me in suspense!' she pouts. 'I wanna know!'
Of course, Lily doesn't understand her or answer her questions.
At Ministry of Magic, James, Sirius and Alastor were in the office. All three of them were pissed off. Malfoy got away, the raid at his house was waste of time. They got nothing out of there.
"That blast Malfoy!" Alastor slam his fist on the desk. "Slimy git!"
"It's getting out of hands, Moody" James grimace. "If we don't do anything so soon..."
"Don't rush!" Alastor snap. "You and Lily, Both of you cannot meddle in this! I didn't brought you out here just to die like a fool! Those children need you! Argh! If only we know why that blast You know who targeting other pure blood. They are all natural side!"
Sirius was more worried, Longbottom couple almost got killed. Voldemort is also after them. Longbottom and Potters. What should they do? Hiding is an option but how long?
Once twins grow up, they get their letters and head to Hogwarts, They will be more in danger. They need to finish this battle before that happens. They must do something to protect them!
"I am heading home... It's late" James rubs his forehead. "We figure something out tomorrow... I just... I just need some time..."
"Go home then..." Alastor sighs. "My knees hurts..."
Sirius smirk. "Old man" Then yelped as Alastor send a hex at him. "Hey!"
James laughs. "Serves you right, Pads!"
Alastor smirk. "I still have fight in me, boy. Don't underestimate me!"
"You didn't needed to hex me, old prat!"
"I do it again, if you don't shut up!"
"Goodnight, Moody, Pads"
"Night, James"
"See you tomorrow, Jamie- ow! Why hex me now?!"
"Constant vigilance!"
