Chapter 2 - New World

The sun was still low on the horizon when Kael opened his eyes, this time in the simple wooden room of a small village house. The smell of burning wood and fresh earth filled his nostrils, familiar yet strangely new. He sat on the bed and observed his hands. Every finger seemed stronger, firmer. The muscles in his arms moved with ease and precision, a subtle energy flowing through his body. The body he now inhabited was not just adult but trained by the rustic life of the village.

Before leaving the bed, Kael followed an old habit of the body he now occupied: attending to small daily needs with care, as if he still remembered the instincts and routines of the person who had inhabited it before. It wasn't shame, just a simple continuity of practical life — something his mind, even awakening to new memories, automatically assimilated.

He stood and dressed in simple clothes — linen trousers, a cotton shirt, and worn leather boots — and stepped outside. The fresh morning air filled his lungs, and he felt every particle of dust, every scent of wood, meat, and herbs. The village, though small, was organized: dirt roads, rustic houses, some parked carts, and an improvised market beginning to form. Children ran back and forth, shouting and laughing, while adults carried baskets or spoke in low voices.

Kael stopped in a clearing and mentally summoned the system:

— System…

A floating interface appeared before him, silent, without automatic announcements or alerts. Kael analyzed every detail of his body and abilities, feeling an intense joy. He had never been so aware of his own power. The strength flowing through his muscles, the clarity of his thoughts, the heightened perception of his surroundings — everything was there, available to be shaped at will.

He smiled mentally and reflected:

"If I can evolve without limits, every step, every choice will be decisive. Today I will only feel this world and adapt. Tomorrow, I will begin to plan my steps more concretely."

As he walked through the village, Kael observed every gesture, every sound, every scent, building a mental map of the environment. He helped carry sacks of grain, organize tools, and watch how the villagers interacted. Every movement was analyzed, but he allowed himself to enjoy the small discoveries: the simple life, the feeling of the wind, the energy of the nearby forest.

With each step, Kael reflected on the simplicity and complexity of this world. Though the village was small, every detail seemed purposefully shaped. The positioning of the houses, the flow of the market, the villagers' routines — everything told a silent story of survival, adaptation, and tradition.

It was then that a wounded wolf entered the village. The animal was imposing, its fur bristling, eyes fixed on the villagers. Kael froze, initially wanting to retreat and analyze the situation. His instincts told him to measure distance, observe the animal's behavior, but the wolf focused directly on him, advancing slowly but decisively.

Kael felt a chill run down his spine: the hunting sword, which would normally hang at the waist of the body he occupied, was not there. His heart raced, but his mind remained clear. He grabbed a nearby sturdy wooden branch and positioned himself. Every step and gesture was calculated, though improvised.

The confrontation was brief but decisive. Kael managed to drive the wolf back, pushing it with the wood, dodging precise attacks, and using the strength of his newly acquired body to keep distance. When the animal finally retreated into the forest, Kael breathed deeply, analyzing what had just happened.

"Strange… a wolf, which normally moves in packs, attacking a sparsely populated area alone…" he reflected. He recalled memories of the body he inhabited: perhaps this wolf was old, expelled from its pack for failing to keep up. Impulsive attacks by solitary animals were dangerous but understandable. Kael realized that even in this small conflict, his reasoning and observation were as important as his strength or physical skills.

After the incident, he moved to a nearby hill, observing the village illuminated by the first torches of the night. The cold wind carried the scent of the forest and the distant sound of the river. He sat down, inhaled deeply, and reflected:

"Today was only the beginning. I adapted quickly, felt the environment, perceived the potential of people and nature… and even understood animal behavior. Tomorrow, my steps will be more decisive. I must plan, train, explore. Every choice will define my path… and perhaps the destiny of this world too."

As the stars appeared in the sky, Kael closed his eyes and allowed himself a calm smile. For the first time, he felt the depth of the freedom he had gained. He knew that even in a new and unknown world, every step would be his to shape.

He remembered the small old habits the body maintained — checking equipment, organizing utensils, paying attention to the routines of the village. Every memory now felt his own, helping him structure his first day. Kael understood that he could not rush: the village was small, but every reckless action could have consequences.

While reflecting, he mentally tested his power. Simple movements — flexing his arms, feeling each muscle, testing resistance — showed immense potential. Kael smiled once more, aware that this body, now allied with his abilities and memories, could be shaped into something far beyond ordinary.

"Today I only observe. Tomorrow, I act. Every detail of the village, every movement of the forest… it will all be useful. I must understand, adapt, evolve… and there are no limits to what I can become."

Kael remained there, contemplating the village and the small flames lighting the streets. Every detail seemed to tell a story, every sound carried information. He knew that by mastering observation and carefully planning his steps, he could transform the world in his own way.
