Nox and Zoro were training swordsmanship when Luffy walked over, wanted poster in hand, "we are wanted dead or alive! Shi shi shi! I'm worth 30 million berry!"
"As usual, you guys have no idea how serious this is", Nami had her hands on her face, "the navy is hunting you, Luffy! At that price, headquarters is probably involved. The toughest bounty hunters are going to come after you"
"Relax Nami, a bounty is a mark of pride for a pirate and in the grand scheme of things, 30 million isn't that much", Nox chuckled. In the new world, where bounties of 1 billion and up are common, a thirty million bounty was nothing, "hey, I think I can see Louge town, the 'city of the beginning and the end'. It is the place where Gold Roger was born and also executed"
"Woah… we have to stop there!" Luffy said.
"Indeed we do and not just for sight seeing, we need a log pose if we want to survive the grand line", Nox nodded, "and we need to fill up on food too!"
"And I need some new swords, these which I got from that octopus fishmen are already breaking down", Zoro said, inspecting the chipped blade. Under Zoro's strength, normal blades didn't last long, he needed graded blades. Unlike in canon, where Zoro had to borrow money, this time he had his own. The ship docked at the pier and they looked around, "woah, this place is huge! So this is where the great pirate era began? Right! I'm going to see the execution platform!"
"I can probably get some good ingredients here", Sanji nodded.
"I'll find us some equipment", added Usopp.
Nox needed some new clothes, his only shirt had been slashed in his first duel with Zoro and the subsequent matches, more and more cuts were added to the outfit. So, he searched for a clothing store which had clothes that would fit him. He was taller than the average guy, 7ft or roughly 2.1 meters tall. By this world's logic not all that impressive but still, most shirts didn't fit him. When he found a shop which sold his size, he went in and picked up a few outfits, plain, unremarkable but practical and comfortable. He brought the clothes back to the ship and when he walked over to the plaza, there stood buggy, ready to execute Luffy, "I will be king of the pirates! Zoro, Sanji, Nox, please help!"
They rushed over but wouldn't get there in time. He knew that dragon should be coming to his rescue any minute now but what if something had changed? He couldn't leave it up to chance! Fire? No, that would hurt Luffy too… Lightning? Yes, that sounded good.
"Sorry, I'm dead", Luffy said as the sword swung down on his neck but- before it could contact, Nox summed lightning from one of his tattoos and shot it at Buggy. It didn't destroy the whole platform, like Dragons lightning had but it knocked Buggy out and freed Luffy.
"Thanks Nox, I'm alive, that's good!"
They wanted to run to the Going Merry but then, they were already surrounded by marine soldiers on every corner. No way out and they were training their guns at them. Sure, Luffy would be fine but the rest of them weren't as bulletproof as their captain was.
"Shit" Nox muttered. This was not how things were supposed to go! They were supposed to escape before the marines could fully surround them. Dragon was also nowhere to be seen… he had one option remaining.
"Alright, let's try this, let's hope it works", he concentrated on a tattoo, his biggest tattoo, on his back, along his spine was a dragon tattoo. The tattoo glowed brightly as the dragon coiled its way out of it. He could feel the control of its size. If he wanted he could make it a lot bigger but all he needed was big enough to scare these marines and let them ride on it. The dragon, black and white scales and teeth like swords coiled around them, protecting them from the gun fire.
"The fuck?! Isn't that Kaido's power? How does this no name pirate have it?!" Smoker's eyes were wide as he watched the beast roaring, seemingly unbothered by the bullets bouncing off its scales, "no, it isn't blue, it almost looks drawn on… hey you", he yelled at a marine grunt next to him, "did you see how he created that dragon?"
"Y- yes captain", the marine grunt nodded, "he had this dragon tattoo, it glowed and from it came that dragon, sir!"
"A tattoo? Must be a devil fruit… this could become very dangerous, with all those tattoos he has…" as Smoker contemplated, Zoro, Sanji, Luffy and Nox flew upwards on the back of the dragon, "the name is Amari Nox!" Nox called out from behind the head of the dragon.
It flew off in blinding speed.
"Should we go after them, sir?"
"No… I won't endanger my subordinates lives like that. That dragon, it is immune to regular bullets. Going after him now would just be needlessly dangerous. Looks like I will have to request a transfer to the grand line…"
Up in the sky, Nox and the monster trio were soaring through the sky.
"Woohooo! This is awesome!" Luffy yelled.
Nox on the other hand was feeling the drain on his stamina. It turns out maintaining his tattoo's, especially this one was very taxing. They placed down on the ship and Nox dispelled the dragon.
"That was so cool! Why didn't you tell me you could summon a dragon?! Dragons are so awesome! Don't you agree? Hey, what is going on, Nox? You don't look so good", Luffy looked worried at the tattooed man, who was swaying from side to side as if he were drunk.
"So tired… so very tired…" he walked into the boy's quarters and fell onto his hammock, out cold.
