To be honest, I originally wanted to get everything done before you, at least to reach a consensus with Klein..."
Donny wanted to take out his cigarette and smoke another one, but after thinking about it, he decided not to. He took out a cigarette and handed it to Batman: "Do you want to smoke? One? I just learned how to smoke these past few days."
Batman's masked eyes stared intently at Donny, his entire body shrouded in darkness. His tall, burly figure evoked an indescribable pressure. The lights flickered, magnifying the shadows and seemingly making Batman's figure even taller.
The atmosphere was very dull. Donny and Batman stared at each other, neither of them speaking. Donny's hand holding out the cigarette froze in the air, and no one took the good cigarette.
"Stop your boring tricks, Donny, I know you, I know everything about you." Batman said in a hoarse voice, and the unclear voice slowly echoed in the deepest level of Arkham Prison.
"If you don't mind, I'll take this cigarette..." Klein looked at Batman and his first reaction was to shudder. This Dark Knight had left a deep impression on him, and it was bloody.
How powerful was the League of Shadows back then? Countless battle-hardened assassins, led by ninja masters, swarmed into Gotham City. Scarecrow Klein was so glorious back then, gassing Batman to death and meticulously planning a madcap plan to destroy all of Gotham. They were brimming with pride. The League of Shadows had always attempted similar things, with success countless times. They would succeed this time, just like the Black Death that destroyed half of Europe or the Great Fire of London.
Until Batman showed up.
All this glory was like a passing cloud, and everything vanished in front of Batman. Countless elite warriors were defeated by Batman, and even the leader of the Shadow Warrior League - the Ninja Master knelt and slept forever in the raging flames.
Crane looked at Batman in awe. He was already a timid person, let alone facing Batman directly. The shadow was too great. He was a genius with a high IQ. If he hadn't known that Batman was not willing to kill easily, he would have collapsed long ago. How could he dare to cause trouble for Batman?
Donnie glanced at Klein in surprise. This scarecrow looked a bit interesting... At least he hadn't turned evil enough to take pleasure in committing crimes, let alone to the point where destruction and killing were his life beliefs.
If it really came to that, he wouldn't bother trying to win them over. He would just give them a beating and get the information before leaving.
Donnie glanced at Batman and slammed his fist into the glass.
boom!
The narrow glass window was smashed, and glass fragments were all over the floor. Donnie lit the cigarette and threw it directly in.
"Klein, don't try to use my cigarettes to try to escape, or I'll catch you myself. It won't be long before I find another way to get you out," Donnie warned.
Batman stood there quietly, like a silent mountain, his sharp eyes fixed on Donny from beginning to end, observing this man with both good and bad reputations.
In the eyes of some ordinary citizens, Donny is a very interesting guy who can be approached without worrying about being beaten up; but in the dark world, Donny is still famous for his viciousness. His reputation is largely built on the corpses of a group of people, especially vampires, who fell apart in a short period of time. Many people put this big hat on Donny's head and sighed: He is a scourge.
Batman flung his cape, and his ghostly figure moved forward. His speed seemed fast, but in reality, he was moving every second. His massive body made no sound as it moved at high speed.
Donny's eyelids twitched, and he turned around to give Klein a warning glare before quickly following Batman. He wasn't afraid of Batman. No matter how powerful Wayne was, he was still an ordinary man. It was impossible for him to be defeated easily.
The two eventually reached the rooftop of Arkham,
It was still the rainy season, and the sky was habitually gloomy and covered with dark clouds. The occasional cold wind made some passers-by shiver and quicken their pace.
"Mechanic Donny, tell me why you came to Gotham." Batman said slowly, the weapon on his waist was ready to go, and he only needed to press it lightly.
Donnie narrowed his eyes at the famous Dark Knight and said, "My main purpose in coming to Gotham is to find someone and something."
"Klein? I won't hand him over to you. He'll stay in Arkham."
"But I will use legitimate means. You know the situation in Gotham City better than I do. I can also get Klein out through legal means." Donnie said.
Everyone knows what's going on in Gotham. Batman's job is to capture the worst villains and hand them over to less evil people for trial - but with the exception of a few people like Harvey Gordon, the others are not good people, they are just some kind of hateful or some not so hateful.
As long as Downey is willing to spend money, he can rescue Crane in a legitimate way and take him away from Gotham in a fair and honest manner. It is simple and direct but the most effective way. Even Batman can't do anything about it.
From a police officer to a congressman to a judge, Donnie relied on his status to spend money and open backdoors one after another. All Klein needed to get out of prison was a pardon.
"Then what do you want from Gotham? I only see you bringing blood and despair to Gotham, making this city even more miserable." Batman said in a cold tone, "In just a few dozen hours since you came to this city, you've already killed seventeen people."
Downey was indifferent. The body had been secretly transported out of the city by Downey long ago, but it was no secret in front of Mr. Wayne. His methods could monitor the city, and every mobile phone on every person was being monitored by Batman.
"I killed the ones who deserved to be killed. Should I just stretch my neck and get slaughtered by those gangsters?" Donnie's tone turned cold. "As for what I want, it's useless to tell you. I'm not targeting you, you just don't know."
Batman looked at Downey silently. He had completely different ideas from Downey. He actually understood that simple words were of no use at all.
"I'll be watching you, Mechanic Donnie. I'll be watching your every move in this city. Every turn you make, every action you take, I'll be watching. In this city, I'm everywhere."
Batman opened his arms, and his huge special cape rustled in the cold wind.
On this day, at this moment, in the biting cold wind, the Dark Knight of Gotham City issued his final declaration and bottom line to Downey.
