Chapter 60 - Chapter 60

"Do you... perhaps have you moved on from Luca? Like it has not been that much of a time since he passed away."

"And now you are getting married to me, before you could even prepare yourself, I have seen you many times with Luca, not once did I saw you tensed or anything, you were just happy..."

"However with me you are mostly stressed, tensed so I was thinking maybe Kalix had forced you to marry me! "

"No! he...You are right, I did not get enough time after his death and that was not a proper amount of time to be able to move on, and despite all that, this marraige is not forced, Kalix asked me and I said yes!"

Cassian's face lit up with undescribable emotions all over it.

"So you... Were okay with the marraige?"

"Yes!"

What problem could I have? That I will die, just like how my fate was written? No, that wasn't my fear anymore, that fear ended the day Luca died.

Instead, I just wanted to know who is behind all this, and now that Franklin was under police's custody, that means I was free from any harm.

There was nothing more that was going to harm me.

Now the wait is till the time until I get to ask and clear up everything with Franklin.

He was still a young boy for me, even if hardly 5 years younger than me he still wasn't a grown up man, just a teenager.

And the question was, why did he do all this? What was the reason that he killed someone?

And for an 18 year old, this question was actually a question to be asked.

The car ride till we walked in my apartment, with utter silence.

Strangely he had a smile on his lips.

"So? Which stuff is to be moved firstly?"

Entering my apartment, I picked up the shopping bags, that were dropped just near the entrance, where I had left them when I heard the sounds from my bedroom.

Wait- my stuff!

I quickly rushed to my bed room, and as the door was opened, the messy condition of my room was revealed.

Shattered perfume bottles, broken cosmetics, drawers out of their shelfs, cupboards opened with my clothes, all my stuff out of them...

"The heck!"

Cassian muttered from behind me.

Marching towards the closet, I looked around, searching for the book, the notes, the things I had prepared...but nothing was to be found.

Where is it?

It was supposed to be here? Could it be there was someone else along with Franklin? He went out of my room after Franklin rushed behind me...

But the CCTV footage, there was only Franklin who had came in...

Walking in the attached bath, I looked at the over flowing bathtub, with the water dripping from the tap.

Tip...tip...tip...

The dripping echoing in the whole bathroom.

No! Please don't tell me...

I stepped closer to the tub, and beneath all that clear water, laid the books, the diary, the journal, the letter.

Drowned under all the water.

"Shit-"

I quickly took everything out of the tub, water dripping from everything.

The books, the letters all drenched, dripping with dissolved ink from them.

I sat near it, keeping everything infront of me, trying to fix them...even though it was all a mess.

Every page, every single thing was ruined, sticked on each other, leaving me with a pile of soggy and sloppy and soaked mess of papers.

Cassian who had followed me in the bathroom, was shocked too...it was useless coming here, and wanting to help, because the main reason I had came here...was now just some squashy junk.

"What the heck?"

He breathed through.

"What was this? Was it something important?"

I couldn't process anything anymore, the proof, the notes, every single thing...

Every tiniest of the details were mentioned in them and now they were gone...ruined.

I felt like crying.

"Hey! Why are you crying?"

Cassian sat on the tiles Infront of me holding my hands,

"Hey! Calm down! It's nothing, it will be fine!"

He knew I had things with me! He knew I was very close, that I had known ye was behind everything that's why he did this.

Every single drop of blood had turned liquid fire inside of me.

His warm hands caressed my cold ones, as I took them out of his grip.

Not rudely, slowly, gently.

"We need to...hurry... I...have some important work to do!"

I can rewrite them, so what if he ruined them? He cannot take them out of my memory.

Use your brain, Sarah. You have to use your brain. You can't just sit Idly and don't know what to do. You are not the female lead they write about, the soft, innocent, naive female leads.

You are not like them. You're the villainess of the novel. You have been transmigrated in this world as the villainess, the rude, wicked and cunning one.

You have to fight your battles on your own, just as you have been doing so since your childhood. Fight them. Use your brain, used your memory, benefit yourself with it.

"We...need to go. I...am packing my stuff, let's go!"

I muttered, and got up from the tiles, exiting the bathroom leaving Cassian there as I packed everything...

Clothes, Laptop, some other essentials and Laurel's documents, which by which had gotten safe from Franklin's hands...maybe he didn't see them or maybe it wasn't like these documents contained any any evidence against him.

I could no longer thing if that could be more dangerous than what I was going through.

Cassian was a big help helping me lining up my stuff against the door, lifting up everything that was heavy.

It barely took me 45 minutes and I was good to go.

Yet it still wasn't enough, because I knew once I leave, there was no coming back and that this was the only chance to take everything that held importance in heart.

Let it be the times I spent here with Kalix, or the times when Luca comforted me, held me, consoled me.

I stared at the whole apartment, while Cassian picked most of the stuff, and was standing at the door waiting for me.

All the memories surged in my mind, whether it was me panicking, or me crying and with everything came Luca, who stood with me.

Us laughing, us...

Exiting the apartment, I closed the door behind my back, walking behind Cassian, I followed him to the lift.

"Where do you want to go? Your house or at Cecily's apartment.

"No...no not Cecily's, if that man can come up to stalk me, he might harm Cecily or Ayla too, I can't have them get hurt, just take me home."

His lips thined in a line, as he nodded.

" You can shift there if you want, I can stay there too or ask some guards to be there with you!"

Shaking my head in a no, I stared at the doors of the lift as they shut down completely and the lift began gown down.

"No, I'm fine this way, plus our wedding is not yet announced, so I think it would be better if we don't do anything like that, shifting in with Cecily or you arranging guards for me."

Cassian's phone rang as he he kept some of my stuff on the ground, and attended his phone call.

"Cassian Valor speaking."

"What? Where? How is he? Okay I'm coming yeah!"

His body tensed up, while still talking on the phone.

Ending the call he, heaved out a deep breath, he looked quite worried.

"What happened?"

"Wait for a bit!"

He again dialled someone's number, as I couldn't see who it was.

The phone kept ringing, but the call wasn't received.

"Pick it up, for god sake, pick it up!"

He mumbled under his breath, frustration visible on his face.

"Cassian what happened?"

"Kalix...he is not picking up my call."

"He must be busy, right?"

"The...call it was from a hospital, they said that Kalix...he got in an accident."

My feet staggered against the floor, that's when the lift stopped at the ground floor, picking up all the stuff, he quickly began walking to his car.

"Come on! I'll first drop you at your home, then I'll go to check on him."

"What? No! I'm going with you, Kalix might need me!"

"Laurel! I promised Kalix that I would protect you from everything, please don't make it difficult anymore."

Throwing the stuff in the backseat, he opened the passenger seat door for me, helping me sit, and then began driving.

Rushing to the Miller estate, he stopped the car.

"Cassian please! Take me with you! He...he is my brother, I can't... I will be stressed for him!"

I practically begged him, to let me go on with him.
