Rrrrrriiinnng Rrrrrriiinnng, the alarm rang loudly waking Elaine up from her afternoon nap, she lazily reached out and turned It off, it was 5:00 PM and she just laid on her bed facing the ceiling, staring blankly.
"Uhhhh," Elaine took a deep breath as she sat up and looked around her and rememberd this wasn't he old room.
"It would take a while to get used to this place" she said to herself, but then she thought, what need is there getting used to the room or house when by next week, she would be leaving for "HERBERT WILBUR" , was that even a school's name?
Elaine stood up, and went to the bathroom, rinsed her mouth and face, changed her clothes and went to look for her mum.
"Mum!, she yelled as she walked across the corridor, she wasn't in the house, neither was she in the porch, "mum, she called again, she decided to walke to the back, when she saw her crouched down with her back facing her.
"Mum, Elaine called again, making her turn to face her without getting up,
"What is it dear?"
"I'm going for a walk "
" Where to?" She asked
" Just somewhere I thought I saw, no worry I would be back soon"
" Don't get lost "
" I won't, it's just a straight road for the next four hours " she said already leaving
" Be careful! " her mom said
" I will!!" Elaine shouted as she left the backyard, without turning back again
"Sure be careful" her mom repeated and turned back to what she was doing.

"Uhhh" Elaine released a long sigh as she walked along the lonely and straight road.
" I'm sure I heard the sound of running water somewhere" it was already dark and the cool breeze felt nice as it brushed pass her. Elaine had her hair up in a messy bun, to prevent the breeze from blowing her hair into her eyes. There was something actually nice about this place, it was calm, peaceful and serene, but there was also something that didn't seem right with it.
Elaine walked for a few more minutes when sh began hearing the distant sounds of waves crashing against each other, which brought a smile to her face, she began to run in the direction of the sound, she ran till she reached the point where there were tall bushes on her left and right, the sound seemed to be coming from behind, it took quite some time to get through the thick bushes, which made her stumble and fall down the path that descended steeply, she rolled down and fell harshly, but instead of the hard ground she was expecting to land on, it was sand , she stood up dusting her clothes when she looked up and saw the beautiful site, the river was really large, even her eyes couldn't reach the end of it, the sand was really vast, the dark and Starry sky really complimented the beach, giving it an out of this world feeling, Elaine couldn't help but take off her sandals and walked on the bare sand , she walked till her ankle was inside the water, she spread out her hands and closed her.
"This was peace" she thought to herself as she released a loud sigh
"Meow"
"Uh, what was that", she listened attentively, but the she didn't hear it again, she was about to go back to enjoying the view when she heard it again.
"Meow"
She began looking around when she saw a beautiful black cat near the bushes.
"Such a cute little creature" she said as she approached the cat carefully,
"Come here" but the cat just stood, staring at her in the eyes, which she found strange, but who could resists such a beautiful creature with green eyes.
She bent down, ready to carry the cat when another pair of large suddenly grabbed the cat, which startled her and made her fall back on the sand.
"Ow" she said looking up at the owner of the hands before she forgot how to speak, she just kept staring at me like a dumbstruck fool, when she heard him say,
"Don't go touching the first strange things that tries to touch you"
She was still staring when she realized he was no longer there.
Quickly getting up, she looked around the vast beach, but there wasn't a trace of him nor the black cat, looking up she realized the sky had turned completely dark.
She took out her phone and called her mum.
"Hello "
"Elaine where are you" she heared her mother's voice which was laced with worry at the other end .
"Sorry, I just walked a little too far"
"Come back soon, it's really late already "
" Yeah sure, but it might take a while, I'm far from the house"
"Just come home "
The walk back home wasn't very relaxing as she was rushing to go home as the sky was very dark and there were no street lights, she had to use her phone falsh light .
" Mum I'm home" Elaine said as she sited her mom sitting at the front porch doing nothing in particular.
" Oh thank goodness, I was so worried something might have happy, or you would have gotten yourself lost .
" There's no way I could have gotten lost, it's a straight road for the next four hours of driving " Elaine said smiling.
"Come in, your body is so cold", her mum said touching her cheeks,
" It's nothing, it was really nice out there, I also found this very beautiful place, didn't seem like anyone goes there"
" Really, what place?"
" I'll show you next time"
"Next time?"
"Yes, next time, I'll make sure we go on a walk together "
"Mmm, her mom answered smiling let's have dinner together "

It was hard to fall asleep, was it because she slept in the afternoon? She didn't know, but her mind kept going back to her time at the beach.
" Don't touch the first strange that tries to touch you"
"Weird" she mummerd to herself
"Wait, was the cat trying to touch me?, but he touched the cat".
"Did he say that or was it my imagination, no it isn't, not with that face of his" she said turning to her side remembering the long curly black her that fell on his nose, his grey eyes, his pink heavy lower lips, and the breathtakingly beautiful freckles that kissed his cheeks and nose.
"There's no way I could have imagined that" she said covering her face with the pillow.
