Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: The Omniscient Recorder

Ding!

[Congratulations to the host for successfully checking in at Enies Lobby! Reward: one Omniscient Recorder. Next check-in location: Sabaody Archipelago!]

Shiranami Hakusei's eyes lit up as he checked the new item in his inventory.

[Omniscient Recorder: A record device containing the entire map of the One Piece world, including every island and its details. It highlights hidden threats along sea routes and provides weather crisis warnings. With the help of a spirit, it can unlock advanced features like precise tracking. After a set cooldown, the user can pinpoint the exact location of a person or object.]

"This is amazing!" Shiranami couldn't stop smiling. It didn't look all that special, but it was absolutely broken.

After all, what was the most important thing for a pirate crew sailing through the seas of this world?

It wasn't firepower, no, the real key was a skilled navigator!

Without a good navigator, especially in the second half of the Grand Line, the New World, even the strongest crew would get destroyed by the ocean's chaotic weather or bizarre terrain long before ever facing an enemy.

But now, with this thing? He could see the entire layout of the One Piece world, go wherever he wanted without needing a Log Pose, and ignore all the dangers of storms or environmental hazards. Even a ship full of idiots could cruise the seas blindfolded.

And the advanced feature? Precise tracking?

Didn't his World Tree have a spirit inside it? This was practically tailor-made for him. It was like someone handed him a pillow just as he was about to fall asleep.

The Zoan Mythical-type Vampire Fruit from the Red Count? Already his.

With one good thing after another, Shiranami was grinning so wide he looked foolish. The system's generosity had him practically bursting with joy.

You're supposed to be a cool and stoic protagonist, aren't you? Can you try acting reserved for once?

While Shiranami was standing there giggling to himself, he completely failed to notice the horrified stares of everyone around him.

Seeing him casually treat the flag of the World Government like garbage left the bystanders utterly stunned.

Spandam's jaw nearly hit the floor.

"Who the hell is this idiot?! Doesn't he realize the consequences of what he just did?!"

In contrast to Spandam's confusion, the CP9 agents, who had seen Shiranami's power firsthand, were much calmer.

"He's our enemy. I'll make him pay for what he's done," Lucci said coldly.

On the other side, Usopp stood there holding his slingshot, completely dumbfounded.

"Damn it! That guy totally stole my spotlight! Hmph, whatever, a mighty warrior with 8,000 followers like me won't lower himself to squabble with a freak like that."

He squinted suspiciously toward Shiranami's direction, worried that the guy might hear and come after him.

Unbeknownst to him, Shiranami didn't even consider him worthy of the effort.

"Alright, now that that's done, let's grab Franky and get moving," Shiranami said casually to the Red Count and Waldo, snapping out of his daze.

Wait, what?

That's it?

Was your whole reason for coming here just to challenge the World Government's authority?!

The two men exchanged helpless glances. Their captain truly was a handful.

Being his crewmates was nothing short of exhausting.

With no choice, they followed him, shaking their heads.

Before long, they reached the room where CP9 was waiting.

The two sides faced off in silence.

Shiranami had nothing to say to them. Grandstanding wasn't his style. If people didn't mess with him, he wouldn't care to start trouble. But these CP9 guys had picked a fight with him before.

And as the saying went, gentlemen take their revenge, even if it's a day late.

So today, he was absolutely settling the score.

On the CP9 side, having seen the power of Shiranami's crew, they stood at full alert. There was nothing more to say either.

Unlike them, Shiranami's eyes were on Franky and Robin behind them. The CP9 agents? He clearly didn't see them as threats.

Spandam, who still had a grip on the two captives, felt a chill run down his back. He wasn't stupid, seeing his men so tense told him this was not a group to mess with. He decided it was time to bail.

"Uh, Lucci, the mission is more important, right? Hurry up and get me out of here!"

Lucci's brow twitched. We already told you to leave earlier, but you refused. Now you want an escort? You're nothing but a walking disaster.

"Owl, Blueno, block the Straw Hats outside. Kumadori, Kaku, Jabra, Kalifa, protect the chief and the prisoners while we evacuate!"

"Yes, sir!"

With the command given, Blueno opened a Door-Door portal and vanished with Fukuro to intercept the Straw Hats.

The remaining members formed a protective ring around Spandam and the two guards carrying Franky and Robin, retreating slowly toward the Gates of Justice.

"Attack!"

With Shiranami's command, the trio sprang into action!

CP9, already braced for battle, reacted instantly!

Kumadori and Kaku rushed the Red Count, Kalifa engaged Waldo, and Jabra took on Shiranami.

Lucci, meanwhile, was reluctantly assigned to escort Spandam out of the fight.

From the start, the CP9 agents went all in, Kaku and Jabra immediately activated their Zoan transformations, becoming a giraffe and a werewolf respectively.

"Let us show you our true strength!" Kaku shouted, one foot grounded as his long neck and body spun rapidly like a drill.

As his rotation hit peak speed, he roared, "Rankyaku: Amanedachi!"

Whoosh!

A powerful circular blade of air erupted from his body, slicing outward like a deadly sawblade!

The slash was lightning-fast, tearing through the air like thunder!

In the blink of an eye, it reached the enemy lines.

Even the other CP9 members were startled and had to leap aside, none of them dared to take that blow head-on!

"Kaku, you idiot! Were you trying to kill us too?!" Jabra snapped in protest, now in full werewolf form.

"Can't help it. My power's just that great. If you don't want to die, go find your own battlefield," Kaku replied, shamelessly referring to himself as "old man" despite being in his twenties.

"You, ugh." Jabra gritted his teeth in frustration, but with the enemy approaching, he had no time to argue.

Compared to CP9's panic, Shiranami's side was calm and collected.

Shiranami didn't even move. He simply activated a Lightning Shield in front of him.

The moment Kaku's attack touched the barrier, the slash collapsed on itself and vanished without a trace.

As for the Red Count, his response was just as effortless.

With a flick of his sword, he unleashed a wave of sword aura that split the circular slash in two, letting the edges sail harmlessly past him.
