Chapter 5 - Certification Test (2)

In the world of Players. There are only three factors of a Player's existence.

Traits: Traits are the embodiments of a player's soul. A manifestation of a Player's true concept.

Aspects: Aspects are the physical manifestations of a Player's trait. While Trait is the soul's embodiment, Aspects physically represents the concepts of a Player's Trait.

Cards: Cards are the special abilities drawn from a Player's Aspect. Cards are the physical representation of a Player's Aspect.

The flow of mana within a player's body constitution is absolute. It's still limited and restricted.

Depending on the Player's rank and his evolving levels.

Genos's POV

~~

Based on the information I received from that mysterious system a few days ago. My Trait is that of a Destroyer.

Well, that's understandable, after all, I was the archangel of destruction.

I may have lost my angelic existence and I became a mere mortal.

I may have lost my immortality but my soul essence remains unchanged.

My Aspect is what confuses me.

Based on my aspect, I'm a Nuclear Scientist….

But how is that possible?

I was never a human in the first place. Amongst the thousands of aspects relating to destruction.

How the hell did I become a nuclear scientist?

But the fact that it's an SSS rank Aspect. That's enough to calm me down.

It's not like I didn't expect it tho.

I mean, who do you think I was ten thousand years ago?

If I hadn't reversed time, I would have only been the last living creature after Lucifer brought everything down to the brink of collapse.

The memories of those events are still fresh in my mind.

"Urgh"

I growled. Just think about it still irritates me.

I won't let that happen this time.

I won't let Father's creation be reduced to nothing but dust.

I've already broken.

I've already interfered with the laws of the universe by regressing ten thousand years back into the past.

There may be a few changes as a result of my regression.

But it doesn't change the fact that this is the timeline where the 72thrones will be invading Earth.

The starting point of Armageddon…..

One after the other, I'll take out the demons of the 72thrones.

I assured myself with this declaration.

[Mr. Genos, you're up next]

My name was repeated a second time, and that was when I realised I needed to get up from my seat and take my certification test.

I wasn't really bothered about the results.

I'm not here for the benefits.

I just need to obtain the rights to clear dungeons and level up.

That's all that matters to me.

I rose up from the bench I sat on. Quickly made my way towards the entrance door of the certification hall.

I walked through the crowd.

Eyes were on me, and I could see players emerging from the hall. A few were happy, but the majority were filled with sadness.

The least ranked players were getting E.

It's still manageable I guess.

E rank players are still just slightly above the average man but awakened players are still players.

As long as they're awakened, they're superior compared to the average human.

My movements came to a halt, and I brought out my certification card and inserted it for verification.

Once it was confirmed.

The door automatically opened, granting me access to the certification hall.

I widened my eyes in awe.

"Wow"

I exclaimed.

The hall was a marvel of modern technology and fantasy innovation filled with an array of gadgets and devices designed to test the limits of awakened powers.

From holographic projections to energy-absorbing materials, every tool was carefully crafted to push the boundaries of what was possible.

I softly exhaled.

There were dozens of men clad in white doctorate coats. All focused on their assigned positions.

I watched in amusement at how humanity's intellect was vast enough to build such things.

It's such a pity humanity is such a weak race. If they weren't so physically weakened, they would transcend space-time with their knowledge.

Just then, fast approaching footsteps drew closer towards me.

I slightly tilted my gaze.

A young blonde walked up to me. Dressed in a sleek jet-black suit, her lips widened as she hid not her smile.

With just a glance, I could tell she's a player as well.

And her levels are higher than Mineene's.

She held an iPad in her right hand.

"Are you Mr. Genos?" She asked.

From her voice, I knew she was the one who made that announcement back then, that familiar melodic voice of hers.

I nodded in response.

"Yes. I'm Mr. Genos" I answered.

"That's nice, please come with me as I take you to the testing area, " she said.

I obediently followed her from behind, and I uttered not a single word.

"Mr. Genos, recently. You're quite famous because you survived a mutated dungeon and many are aware of your certification test"

"Many guilds are looking to see if you've any potential"

"I hope you do" She said as we kept walking around.

I sighed softly.

I gently caressed my silk hair. Unbothered by her words.

I yawned softly.

"Well, I don't really fancy joining guilds. I'm not bothered about how my test turns out to be….I'll still clear dungeons one way or the other"

I told her.

But she giggled at my words.

"Did I say something funny?" I asked. My eyebrows furrowed.

"No. Not at all, you didn't say anything funny….but you're the second person who isn't bothered about joining a guild"

She stated.

"Oh? Who's the first?" I curiously asked.

"I cannot tell you his name but what I can tell you is that he's one of the strongest S rank players in Japan"

"And the guild master of one of the top three guilds"

"He created his own guild" She revealed.

I chuckled softly.

"Hmmm….well, that sounds like a quality motivation, right?"

I asked.

And I continued….

"Let's see how it goes with me"

I added.

Her lips curled up into a knowing grin, but she didn't bother tilting her gaze to steal a glance at me.

She was simply focused.

"Yh. Let's see how it goes, Mr. Genos"

"We've arrived"

She uttered.

I was led into another hall. But this was a battle arena.

The walls were all tiled up, and the entirety of the room was scanty. Giving me enough space if I was going to fight.

"What are we here for?" I asked.

"Mr. Genos, I will be the agent in charge of your certification test. The first task in the certification test is to prove your fighting skills"

She uttered.

My eyebrows curled up.

"Prove my fighting skills? How?" I asked.

"Players are beings designated to raid dungeons and clear dungeons. You will surely encounter monsters and you will need to defend yourself"

"We'll evaluate the results of your battles to give you your grade"

"It's the first and the most crucial stage of the test"

She revealed.

"Please pick your weapon" She clicked on a button on the remote she held.

I tilted my head to the left in amusement.

The wall door slid open with a metallic creak, revealing a hidden compartment filled with an array of deadly weapons.

Their glinting steel and polished wood were a stark contrast to the cold, tiled floor of the arena.

These weren't ordinary weapons.

They're known as Markers. Weapons imbued with mana radiation, most of the time players can apply their aspects to these weapons.

Granting it unique cards.

I was given the permission to choose only a single weapon. So I took my time examining them.

There were lots of old medieval weapons like swords, bows and spears. Shields and other weapons.

Katanas were even inclusive.

But I've seen all of them already and I've not a single interest in using them.

I saw a semi-automatic dessert eagle lying there and that aroused me.

Back when I was neutral. I've seen men using this to kill their fellow men.

It became a useful human tool meant for destruction, and that piqued my interest.

Swords and spears are old models.

This is the new model.

I grabbed the semi-automatic dessert eagle and gently cocked it in the way I saw humans doing it.

I copied their stance and their posture as well.

As a former archangel. I've photographic memories.

I can vividly remember every single thing I've seen before and even after regressing as a human.

It still doesn't change.

I returned my gaze to the proctor in charge of the test, and she smiled at my choice.

"You really do know how to surprise people. To think you would choose a semi-automatic Desert Eagle as your marker"

"Let's get started now"

She stated.

She clicked another button and the wall door closed up.

Just then, a holographic projector in the corner of the room cast shimmering images of demonic creatures.

But this time they weren't Furies.

They were higher in the demon slaves echelon.

Ziglets.

With just a glance, I could tell these creatures were twice as strong as your average Furies.

But I could easily decimate them myself.
