Chapter 3 - The System’s First Trial

"Huff....huff..." Mira panted under her breath, pushing herself off the ground with every rep. Her muscles burned, her arms ached, and she felt like she could fall to the ground with how hard her arms her trembling under her own weight.

'I'm close....I'm...so close!' She roared inwardly, her eyes glued to the system screen infront of her.

[Quest:

97/100 Pushups(Incomplete)

0/100 Situps(Incomplete)

0/100 Squats(Incomplete)

0/10km Run(Incomplete)

'Damn it...don't give up on me now....' Mira grunted in pain, her teeth clenched, her eyes closed as if in praying for more strength. She was so close, she just needed to complete three more reps, three more then she it will be over.

"Haaaarh!" Mira roared like an animal in rage, pushing herself off the ground, before lowering herself down slowly again. She continued push through the pain, the voice in her head telling her to stop, she fought through it all, and eventually, completed the first part of the daily quest.

100/100 Pushups(Complete)

"Augghhh.." Mira fell onto her chest, her arms giving out as they trembled at her sides. Never had she ever pushed her body to that extend before, it was excruciatingly painful, but at the same time, it filled her with a massive sense of accomplishment.

"That was hell....and I have to go through that everyday? I don't know if my body will be able to recover in time for the next one.." She whispered to herself, allowing her arms to rest to regain some strength.

After a few minutes of lying on the floor and finally feeling something else other than pain in her arms, Mira eventually rose to her feet, stretching a bit to ease the tension in her muscles.

"The quest isn't over yet.." She said, looking at the screen hovering beside her. She really wanted to stop, to just quit and sleep in her bed all day, but the feeling in her gut told her otherwise, and for some strange, unexplainable reason, she trusted her instincts with this.

"Alright then, onto the squats." Mira said, getting into position. She took a deep breath, calming her nerves, and just as she was about to do her first squat, her door opened, startling her.

A young doctor entered her room, wearing a professional and standard white coat with a stethoscope around his neck. He held a notepad in his hand and carried himself well, his eyes studying Mira for a bit.

'....'

Mira stared back at the doctor, an awkward silence stretching between them that made the air in her lungs dissapear. Mira started to sweat a little, a bit nervous as she hoped that the doctor didn't just walk in on her doing squats.

After a few seconds, the doctor cleared his throat and approached Mira. "Good morning, Ms. Zyraelle." The doctor greeted, a warm smile etched onto his face. "I'm glad to see thst you're up and alive, we were wondering if you were ever gonna wake up, but it seems that you look alright and healthy."

"Ms. Choi Yoora must've explained on what happened to your body while you were unconscious, correct?" He asked, and Mira simply nodded.

"Yes, and while the phenomenon is strange, I don't exactly mind the new appearance." She replied.

"Oh is that so?" The doctor asked, a bit of a suprised tone in his voice.

Mira simply nodded again, this time with a "Mhm" sound.

'Honestly, I'm quite happy that I look like this. I never once imagined I could look so beautiful, even the best plastic surgeons in this world can't replicate my appearance!' She thought inwardly, a small smile stretching onto her face.

She looked quite plain and average before, but now she looked like a goddess in comparison to super models, and she wouldn't dare reject the opportunity that fate had decided to grant her, even if it had it's consequences.

'Is it strange that I've already adapted to my new appearance so quickly? Is this the effect the system is having on me?' She asked herself inwardly, but decided not to dwell on it too much.

"Now then," The doctor said, "Is it okay if we do a few physical exercises to rehabilitate your body to it's normal condition? We're also going to conduct a few other test to make sure that you're completely healthy and not infected with some weird Mana disease, even if your vitals say otherwise."

Mira looked at the system screen beside her, checking on her daily quest. She decided that she would finish the rest of the quests after she was done with these tests.

"Okay" She replied to the doctor, returning her gaze to him.

"Excellent, follow me please."

----------

A little while passes.....

After the tests Mira had proven herself to be fully recovered and exuded excellent body coordination and had passed the rest of the doctor's test. She had also asked the doctor to grant her permission with exercising, and after some convicing, she got permission and immediately resumed with her daily quest.

After enduring more hell at the hands of the system, pushing her body to it's limits and tiring herself out beyond belief, Mira collapsed onto a bench outside the hospital courtyard.

[Quest:

100/100 Pushups(Complete)

100/100 Situps(Complete)

[Ding! You've completed the daily quest! Please choose a reward below!]

1. Blessed Loot Box

2. Status Recovery

3. +3 Stat Points

Mira stared at the system screen with a look of skeptism, eyes narrow in suspicion. "Ah..screw it, I guess I'll go with the status recovery. My body could really use a break." She said, the system interface changing to her command.

[Ding! Reward selected! Would you like to use Status Recovery Immediately?]

[Yes] or [No]

"Yes please." She answered, and immediately a soothing warmth envoloped her body.

Mira jumped in her seat, startled by the sudden green glow radiating from her body. The pain in her muscles vanished, her aching bones finally at peace, and she was hit with a large sense of calm that shouldn't exist in a strange situation like this.

"....." Mira's mouth was wide in shock, she couldn't believe something like this was actually happening. The healing displayed by the system was remarkable, almost instant, and it terrified her how calm her heart seemed to react to this situation.

Mira's eyes returned to the system, as if searching for an answer in it's floating form. The system just performed a miracle, and she wasn't sure whether or not she should be excited, or straight up terrified...even if her body didn't feel that way.

"Maybe I'm not crazy after all...."
