Chapter 2 - Mr.Useless

Episode 2

Characters: (Kattu; Lallu)

(Kattu got ready for school and stepped out of his room, dragging his feet lazily. His father was already sitting at the breakfast table, reading the newspaper.)

The newspaper was held in such a way that it covered his entire face, but like a spy, he peeked at Kattu with one eye as the boy walked out sluggishly. As soon as Kattu sat down, his father began reading out loud from the newspaper in an exaggerated tone:

> "A person who displays laziness early in the morning can never succeed in life. And if you don't believe it, just read the statements of highly successful people. In fact, let me present a few examples, Mr. Useless, especially for you."

(Hearing this, Kattu burst out laughing.)

Father: "Shut up, you rascal!"

(Kattu struggled to hold back his laughter.)

Father: "You clearly don't know Mr. Useless."

Kattu: (still laughing) "Oh come on, Dad. You call him both 'Useless' and 'Sir'?"

Father: "Shut up, rascal! Never call Mr. Useless a fool. That's disrespectful."

Kattu: "But Dad, that's literally what his name means!"

Father: "His real name was quite lovely — Mr. Laeeq (meaning 'capable')."

(One day, he wrote a poem and wanted to publish it. After printing several copies, he distributed them among the people and began to recite it aloud. When he finished reading the entire poem, he looked proudly at the crowd, pointed at himself with one hand and held the poem in the other, and said:)

> "Do you know who wrote this poem? It was written by none other than the respected and great poet..."

(He looked down at the name printed at the end of the poem and read aloud:)

"...Mr. Na-Laeeq (Useless)."

Everyone, who had been quietly standing until then, burst into loud laughter.

Father: "And from that day on, Mr. Laeeq became known as Mr. Na-Laeeq."

Kattu: "But Dad, tell me — why are you so inspired by him?"

Father: "Because in my eyes, Mr. Laeeq was a great man. People mocked him and turned his name into an insult, but he didn't let it break him. He ignored their laughter and carried on with his work. Eventually, he became a respected poet and author. Today, people long to hear his poetry."
