Chapter 726 - Chapter 726

The call ended, and the atmosphere inside the cabin—just barely relaxed a moment ago—instantly tightened again.

Saitama pulled his gaze back from the clouds outside the window, turned around, and looked at Strange's grim expression. "So… there's new trouble again?"

Strange took a deep breath and nodded. A faint magical glow flickered in his eyes, as if he were sensing the energy disturbance coming from far-off New York. "Looks like it. Even though the main altar was destroyed and the passage was sealed, the Dark Dimension's energy once seeped in—like a virus. There will always be some lingering 'complications' that need to be cleaned up. Fury is right. This feeling… it's very similar to the methods of those dark cultists, but it also seems a bit different. We have to get there as fast as possible."

The Quinjet drew a sharp arc through the sky, adjusted its course, engines roaring at full power as it raced toward the New York City under attack at top speed.

Flying at ultra-low altitude, the Quinjet howled through the forest of New York skyscrapers, finally hovering over a chaotic block in Midtown Manhattan. The scene below looked like something out of an apocalypse movie.

What had once been a bustling street was now a wreck—disabled, burning car husks everywhere, glass shattered across the ground. Dozens of enormous, nauseating monsters rampaged through the area. Their bodies were like octopus tentacles magnified a hundredfold—ghastly pale and covered in suction cups. At the tip, each tentacle split open into a jagged maw packed with sharp teeth, constantly spewing thick streams of green-smoking, highly corrosive slime. Wherever the slime splattered—building facades, streets, vehicles—it immediately hissed, rapidly corroding and melting everything it touched.

Screams, sirens, explosions, and the sticky, wet sounds of those slick tentacles sliding across the ground all tangled together into a chaotic symphony.

The moment the hatch opened—before the jet had even fully descended into position—a red figure leapt out first, dropping straight into the densest cluster of monsters like a meteor.

It was Saitama.

Boom!

The instant he hit the ground, the impact blasted a shallow crater into the pavement, spiderweb cracks racing outward. The three tentacle monsters closest to him—ones that were trying to flip a bus—didn't even have time to react. The shockwave from his landing rattled them so violently their massive bodies—

Saitama threw both fists forward. The movements were simple and direct. No one even saw the punches clearly—only three muffled thuds.

Pff. Pff. Pff.

Those three tentacle beasts, each as big as a car, didn't even manage a single scream. Their huge bodies looked as if an invisible force detonated them from the inside—bursting apart in an instant into a spray of dark-green meat sludge and chunks that splattered everywhere.

That shocking entrance instantly drew every monster's attention—and it also gave the rest of the team the opening they needed.

"Whoa! Saitama is still as… efficient as ever!" Peter shouted in amazement, immediately firing webbing and swinging out with agile momentum. "Alright, guys—let's get to work! Try to evacuate the civilians to a safe zone!"

He weaved between the high-rises with nimble precision, constantly shooting tough webs—either wrapping up tentacles to restrict the monsters' movement, or sticking to panicked civilians and yanking them out of danger at high speed. Even while moving, he didn't forget his signature way of easing the tension:

"Hey, everyone, don't panic! They're just super-sized takoyaki! Might not taste very good, though!"
