Chapter 59 - Chapter 59: Glenn’s Ambition, David Banner’s Scheme!

"What the hell are you standing around for? Bring him to me!"

Colonel Glenn, a short-haired blond man, was visibly excited.

Then, after a moment's thought, he changed his mind. "Wait—I'll go over there! Just make sure that guy doesn't wake up. And send the general's daughter away; I don't want that kind of trouble on my hands."

Betty was escorted out of the monitoring room, while Glenn made his way to another holding cell.

"So you're David Banner?"

Pushing the door open, Glenn cut straight to the point.

David Banner was strapped to a chair, two soldiers flanking him with guns aimed at his head.

"Yes, that's me."

His voice was hoarse, yet there was no fear or panic as Glenn might have expected.

"Tell me how you two turned into monsters! I need to know! Understand? Otherwise, tomorrow I'll make sure you're both dead with no place to be buried!"

Grabbing David by the collar, Glenn's angry breath blasted in his face like a raging bull.

He had seen Bruce turn into the Hulk with his own eyes—

—and had felt what it was like to be smashed.

That was why he was obsessed with such monstrous power.

Bulletproof, unbelievably strong… just like the mythical Superman. If he could obtain such power—or uncover its core secrets—

—then…

He didn't even dare imagine it. Forget mere career advancement; he could become the true ruler of the entire world.

"All right."

David looked at him from his sunken eyes and sighed like a man at the end of his years. "I'm already old and have no more desires. If you let me see my son Bruce, I'll tell you everything I know."

Glenn hadn't expected it to be this easy!

Suppressing the joy in his heart, he eyed David with suspicion. After two seconds of thought, he barked a threat:

"This is my turf. If you try any tricks, I'll make sure you and your son vanish without a trace!"

Elsewhere—

Saitama's sudden appearance had nearly caused General Ross's helicopter to crash.

No wonder—his little display of eating a bullet and crushing a pistol was far from kid-friendly, and it had rattled the pilot to his core.

Still, they managed to have a "friendly" discussion, and their relationship eased somewhat.

"Base 18 is built to Level-1 security standards. Other than a nuclear-level threat, nothing can breach it—so you can be sure about that," Ross insisted.

He was confident Bruce couldn't escape from inside. With enough sedatives, as long as no one angered him, there should be no problem.

"I was just making a suggestion. But you'd better go check on Betty."

Saitama shrugged helplessly.

The helicopter sped toward the base—only for a massive explosion to erupt just ahead.

From Base 18, a mushroom cloud rose into the sky.

A visible shockwave swept outward in all directions.

From their vantage point, the desert below looked as though a tsunami had torn through it—sand and debris blasted away with unstoppable force.

Even in midair, the chopper was rocked so violently it nearly fell.

"No—damn it! What happened? Get me Glenn on the line, now!!" Ross roared, steadying himself.

Inside the now-chaotic base—

The central section of the hive-like complex had been blown apart. From within came an enraged, beastly roar.

The earlier blast had knocked countless soldiers to the ground, vomiting blood, stripped of combat capability.

Betty was lucky—being kept in a soft containment room, she had escaped harm.

In a sealed corridor made of reinforced metal—

Glenn led his special ops team forward.

These two "monsters" had taken him endless effort to capture. He was determined to uncover their secrets, his face twisted with anger and greed.

Soldiers were being hurled from the far end of the corridor—it was Hulk, in a berserk rage.

Beside him stood another figure nearly three meters tall but leaner—

An electro-man.

Yes—an electro-man!

Ten seconds earlier, the entire power system had collapsed. No one knew why. Then came the massive explosion, leading to this scene.

"Use the enhanced chemical foam! Block them off!!" Glenn barked.

The special ops team whipped out foam sprayers. Thick gray foam covered Hulk, sealing the corridor completely.

It hardened rapidly, reaching the strength of steel.

Not even a T. rex could break free.

Hulk struggled, but without enough rage he couldn't escape.

"I'm going to take your cell samples myself, damn it!"

Glenn grabbed a special extraction gun and strode toward Hulk.

"My foolish son, do you see? This is how they treat you. We are different from this world. You must understand—a wolf doesn't need to live among sheep. I will become a god in this world! Give me your power—hahaha!"

A hoarse, familiar old voice echoed.

Glenn stiffened.

Zzzzt—

A bolt of lightning shot out from within the foam, instantly reducing him to a heap of ash.

David Banner emerged, his face alight with manic excitement and madness.
