Penny's POV
The morning light filters in through my curtains. The house is quiet but my nerves are running wild.
I sit at the vanity mirror in my room and start brushing my hair when I hear a knock at my door, followed by Nick's voice. "Penelope Clarke, are you decent, or should I shield my eyes?"
"Come in, idiot."
He pushes the door open with his shoulder, holding a mug of coffee. "Brought you caffeine. Because today, apparently, we have to look presentable in front of the Bennetts and the Harrisons." He rolls his eyes. "And you know Mom will stage a fashion show before we're allowed to leave."
I take the mug from him, it's warmth sliding into my palms. "Thanks, Nick. And you should probably put on a shirt before Mom sees you wandering around like that."
He glances down at his bare chest and grins. "This is premium fabric, you know. And the feel of air...very fresh and breathable."
"Nick."
