Chapter 78 - Chapter 78: Security Team

Chapter 78: Security Team

William answered the phone. "Hello, who is this?"

A middle-aged voice came through the line. "Mr. Devinshire, my name is Brian Mills. I'm part of the security team you hired to protect Miss Alessandra Ambrosio. We are now in Switzerland. Where are you? We need to bring Miss Ambrosio to you."

Hearing this, William knew something must have gone wrong. Alessandra wasn't supposed to arrive in Switzerland until tomorrow, and she would have called him herself if everything was normal. "What happened?" William asked. "Is Alessandra alright?"

"She's okay, but she's a bit shaken. We had to reroute from Miami through New York and then flew directly to Zurich. There was an incident I need to report to you in person."

"I'm in the VIP room of the Swiss National Bank. Come directly here. I'll have someone meet you at the gate."

"Okay, Mr. Devinshire. We expect to arrive in thirty minutes. See you then."

After hanging up, William called Felix and told him to go to the bank's gate in twenty minutes to meet Alessandra.

Forty minutes later, William finally saw Alessandra Ambrosio at the door of the VIP room.

Seeing William, Alessandra immediately rushed to him, hugging him tightly and not letting go. William asked quickly, "What's wrong, dear? What happened?"

Alessandra just hugged him tighter without speaking, which made William very worried.

He looked over at the team that had escorted her. The leader looked familiar, but William couldn't quite place him at the moment.

"Mr. Devinshire, my name is Brian Mills," the man said. "These are my teammates: Sam, Bernie, Casey, and Clarence. I need to speak with you in private."

"It's okay, dear, you're safe now. I promise. This is the Swiss National Bank. There's a police station and a company of National Guards right next door. You're not in any danger here," William said, comforting Alessandra.

When Alessandra still wouldn't let go after a long moment, William had to say to Brian Mills, "Come on, let's go inside. There's a conference room where we can talk."

William led Brian Mills and his four team members into the conference room, with Alessandra still clinging to him.

After everyone was seated, William asked, "Alright, what's going on?"

"Mr. Devinshire, we were attacked in Miami yesterday. We killed four of them in the counterattack. Afterwards, we found a moon and stars tattoo on their left hands. Sam identified them as Albanians."

William knew exactly who the Albanians were. *Damn it*, he thought, *it must be that Tropojë chieftain. That bastard.*

Seeing William's expression, Brian Mills knew that William recognized the attackers. He glanced at Alessandra, who was still silent in William's arms, and said no more.

William turned to Brian Mills and his team. "Thank you for protecting Alessandra. Thank you all very much."

"You're welcome, Mr. Devinshire. It's our job. We were paid to protect Miss Ambrosio," Brian Mills said, standing up. "Now that she is safely with you, our task is complete. We should be going."

"Wait," William said.

"Is there something else, Mr. Devinshire?" Brian Mills asked, confused. He and his team exchanged wary glances, all five of them frowning as they looked at William, wondering if he was about to find fault with their performance.

"Don't get me wrong," William said. "I'm very satisfied that you brought Alessandra here safely. I know who you were up against, so don't worry, I'm not looking to cause trouble. On the contrary, I want to thank you for protecting her under those circumstances."

"Thank you, Mr. Devinshire, but it's just our job. No thanks are necessary," Sam said with a smile.

"Alright," William nodded with a smile. "I asked you to wait because I wanted to know if you have any other contracts lined up."

Brian Mills and his men looked at each other. Finally, Brian answered, "No, Mr. Devinshire. After this job, our schedule is clear."

"Good, that's perfect. I'd like to hire you to protect me and Alessandra here in Switzerland for the next two months. Your duties would also include acting as security for this VIP room, which means protecting it and monitoring it. The main priority is to ensure the network security of this room and prevent any information leaks. Is that something you can handle? If network security is outside your team's expertise, I can hire someone else."

"Mr. Devinshire, I'm a network security expert," Sam said quickly. "Leave that part to me. I guarantee I can secure this room."

"What about the rest of you?" William asked, looking at the others. "Do you agree to the job?"

"We do," Brian Mills said.

"Okay. I don't know your usual rate, but considering you brought Alessandra safely to Switzerland, and the fact that Barney is confident in you, how does one million U.S. dollars a month sound?" William asked.

Brian Mills and his team were overjoyed. A million dollars a month! It was just as Barney had said: William Devinshire was a big spender who didn't seem to care about money. Before this, they were lucky to earn a million dollars a year.

Brian Mills looked at the other four men, who all nodded in agreement. He turned back to William.

"Okay, Mr. Devinshire, we accept your employment. For the next two months, we will ensure the safety of you and Miss Ambrosio, and we will guarantee the network security of this VIP room."

"Alright. Do you have an account? Would you prefer cash, or should I have it deposited into an account at the Swiss National Bank? I suggest you open one here. I'll pay you a one-month deposit for the new job, plus the fee for the job you just completed," William said.

Brian Mills and the others discussed it for a moment and decided to take William's advice. They knew the Swiss National Bank was the most secure in the world and had branches in the U.S., which would allow them to withdraw their funds easily.

Seeing that they had agreed, William called Felix in from outside and asked him to take Brian Mills and his team to open their accounts.

After they had all gone, William began to speak softly to Alessandra, who was still in his arms.
