Luke looked at the person who came, and he could already guess who it was, because Alice had also made the same entrance like this in the movie.
Then he saw clearly—it was Alice, the same as in the movie.
Jill's eyes widened, pointing between Luke and the newcomer. "What the hell?" she blurted, her voice sharp. She wasn't just staring at Alice though—her gaze snapped to Luke, who was glowing like a lantern in the middle.
"Why are you glowing?" asked Terri, blinking at the blue aura radiating from him.
"Didn't I say I'm a sage with many powers?" said Luke, as if it was the most normal thing in the world.
The three now seemed to believe, at least partially, as this guy really did seem to have superpowers. And that woman too. So maybe his words about being a sage who meditated for years on Mount Everest… weren't just some tall tale.
Now there was a stalemate.
Luke and Selene stood on one side, calm and collected like nothing was out of the ordinary. Jill, Peyton, and Terri were grouped tightly on the other.
Alice kept to herself on her own side, her sharp gaze flicking back and forth, sizing up everyone in the room.
They all looked around at each other in silence, the tension thick but also laced with confusion.
The only people not bothered seemed to be Luke and Selene, who stood relaxed while everyone else was practically sweating bullets.
The three survivors couldn't wrap their heads around it—how could normal-looking people have superpowers? They'd just seen it with their own eyes, but their brains refused to process it.
Alice looked just as puzzled. She'd seen experiments, mutations, monsters—but a man glowing like a walking fluorescent bulb? That was new, even for her.
She tilted her head slightly, clearly trying to figure out if Luke was about to start buzzing like a neon sign.
So yeah—confusion all around.
Luke, of course, looked like he was enjoying it.
"So, I know you have a lot of questions about us," Luke said, pointing at himself and Selene.
The four nodded almost at once.
Though honestly, "a lot" was putting it lightly. A mountain might have been more accurate. They didn't even know where to begin questioning—how do you even start? The guy glowed like a nightlight, the woman turned into living shadow, and they acted like all of this was Tuesday.
The whole thing was absurd, and their faces showed it perfectly—caught somewhere between disbelief and the urge to just walk out and pretend none of this was happening.
"Before that, I should warn you," Luke said, lifting a finger like he was about to give a lecture.
"You know how onions have layers? Peel one back, and there's another one waiting? Yeah, I'm kind of like that. Even if I explain everything, I can guarantee—like one hundred percent—you'll walk away with way more questions than answers by the time I'm done."
"So, why don't we just ignore the weird glowing and shadow stuff for now," Luke said, waving a hand casually. "Let's be allies. I can promise I'm not here to hurt any of you. What matters is getting out of this city alive—and we can do that together."
Truth was, he had zero mood to dive into a full lecture about his powers. Explaining all that now? Waste of time. He'd save it for another day—preferably when they weren't surrounded by zombies, mutants.
Jill looked at Luke and Selene, weighing her options. Ignoring their strange powers for now seemed like the smartest move.
They didn't act hostile—in fact, they'd already helped deal with those monsters that could've wiped the group out in seconds.
And the odds of survival? Definitely higher with these two on their side than stumbling around the city alone, surrounded by the walking dead.
Alice, too, tilted her head slightly. She wasn't against the idea either. As long as these two weren't from the umbrella, she didn't see a reason to refuse. If they could fight like that, then they were assets.
Still, both women couldn't shake their curiosity. Who exactly was this guy?
"Okay," said Jill at last, her tone steady. Alice gave a short nod beside her, the two women coming to the same conclusion without needing to exchange a word.
As for Peyton and Terri—well, they didn't really get much of a say. What could they do, honestly? Complain? Walk out into zombie central? No, sticking with the power couple who just skewered monsters seemed like the smart play.
"Good," Luke said with a small, satisfied grin. "Now, introductions. I'll say it again—my name's Luke, and this is Selene."
Selene gave the group a cool silent nod.
"Luke. Selene," Jill repeated, testing the names on her tongue like she was committing them to memory. "Jill Valentine. Raccoon City Police Department… or what's left of it."
Alice glanced around the ruined church before adding, "Alice. No last name that matters." She didn't explain further, and honestly, her tone made it clear nobody should push.
"Sergeant Peyton Wells. Also RPD. Though right now I'm mostly just trying not to bleed out."
Finally, Terri lifted her camera a little higher, as if that was introduction enough. "Terri Morales. News reporter. Still recording—because if we live, someone has to tell the story."
