Chapter 15 - chapter 15

With the entire main force of the enemy completely immobilised and the leaders taken down the battle came to a forced close much earlier than eather side expected.

As Rogal Dorn and Samael made their way through the halls of the imperial palace they were intercepted by Sanguinius and Angron.

"Brother" Rogal said with little inflection in his voice beyond the smallest bits of happiness.

In contrast Sanguinius met his brother with a massive smile and a resounding "Rogal it's good to see you"

"Who is this" Angron didn't back down from his older brothers intense gaze even as he was scrutinized heavily.

"This is Michael, he's apparently the younger brother of the winged fellow" Sanguinius gestured at Samael who gave Angron a annoyed scowl.

"I didn't expect you to help in this battle little brother. (did you have to name yourself Michael?)" Samael used his force connection to double speak in a way only Angron can hear.

"I didn't want to miss out of the experience I may acquire from this battle elder brother" Angron didn't have the ability to double speak so he instead just answered the spoken question in a believable way.

"None the less he was an excellent battle brother to fight with" Sanguinius gave Angron a pat on the shoulder as the group once more made their way to the throneroom while the traitors followed them while hovering in Samael's telekinetic grip.

"I enjoy the battle but I must express my apologies for my interruption" Angron said as they arrived at the throneroom and where met with the sounds of fighting.

They didn't bother rushing in as the fighting originated from deep in the Emperor's personal webway project and without his approval they would not be able to enter it.

"Father we have arrived with the traitors" Rogal said matter of factly as he pushed open the doors to show the big man himself seated on his throne while deep in concentration to keep the webway from collapseing.

The voice of his son brought his attention to the surface if only enough to focus on them for a moment.

Seeing the Emperor having a hard time Samael walked to the golden throne and before anybody could stop him or interrupt he placed hi hand on the Emperor's shoulder and let his Light flow through him.

The Light compounded with his own Anathema nature as a being of order burnt all those of chaotic origin to the point of true death far faster than he normally could.

As the combined power rippled out into the human webway project it erased the demons trying to break into the palace and stripped those chaos space marines of their chaotic powers completely.

With the burden of holding back the forces of chaos lifted from his shoulders at least momentarily the Emperor's focus was able shifted fully back to his body.

He looked at his sons Sanguinius and Rogal Dorn before shifting his gaze to look over the floating forms of his traitorous sons and landing on Horus's body, his soul long since burnt to nothing from so much chaos energy being pumped into his body.

"My son" he said and those closest to him could sence just how much pain was held in his voice when speaking those words.

"Be at peace" with his peace said the Emperor erased what was left of Horus completely before sagging back into the throne.

He was silent for a while before turning to the man who even now had his hand on his shoulder and provided him with that source of pure Light.

"Who are you" he didn't yell or even speak above a whisper but his voice could be heard none the less.

Samael look into the eyes of a version of his father and spoke easily, "I am Samael" the name was familiar to Revelations but he could not place it.

"You may remember my name from Judeo-Christian mythology as the angel that became Lucifer" that jogged his memory and with the connection made his brain ran through all of the different stories that this man's name had been apart of at lightning speed.

"How are you still around, I and the chaos gods destroyed every mention of your religion before YHWH even had a chance to form, I remember it as the only time I did something even adjacent to helping those cancers" the Emperor couldn't wrap his head around the idea of a dead religion spawning a being millennia after it had died out.

Samael shrug as he didnt have an answer that would satisfy the Emperor but he moved the conversation along by pointing at his brother and introducing him.

"He is Michael although he isn't the one from the Bible and instead a very small fragment of Angron that had escaped while his original was converted into a demon prince" the 'reveal' of Michaels origins made Sanguinius who was just moments before hanging of his shoulder jump back a bit in weariness.

"I aided the fragment onto becoming.its own being" Samael continued to help Sanguinius to relax and seperate Angron from his demon prince copy.

"That's why he feels so much like one of my brothers" Sanguinius had wonder why he had cozyed up to Michael so quickly.

"But why are you here and why now" asked Rogal as some of the custodes exited from the golden gate now that the fighting had died down.

"Our father?" Angron looked at Samael for advise on what Tet was to them but he himself didn't know so he shrugged, "no not father, our Patron is able to travel across time and wished for me to gather fighting experience, this is the last fight we are joining before we return to our own time" at the mention of the word Patron the Emperor sat up straighter.

"Is it possible for us to meet this Patron of yours" the moment he finished his sentence he felt a presence and looked up to see a small child floating above him while upside down.

"Hello I'm Tet, the god of games" the mention of godhood did make the Emperor tence but a quick check through the warp showed that this being was completely unconnected to it it a way different form even non living matter was.

"I have you to thank for the timely help of Samael and Michael?" He asked and in a poof of smoke Tet was sitting on Angrons shoulders while kicking his feet to which Angron swatted his legs to make him stop.

"Yep" the being poped the P and again relocated to the other brothers shoulders who didn't mind him sitting there like Angron did.

"Angron needed experience if he is going to save his brothers in his own time and Samael her wanted to come along" Tet had noticed that Samael was hiding any connection he had to the Emperor so he played along for now.

"If Samael is unrelated to our family then why did he call Fulgrim and Horus brother?" Rogal spoke up as he went over reports from the legions that had witnessed the battle between them.

"Oh that's simple" spoke Tet as he appeared next to dorn and hovered enough to look over his shoulder. "Samael is a composite being made of both the original Samael and a dead version of Sanguinius I found while wondering through time." See that the jig was up he layed the truth on the table.

"Your me?" Asked Sanguinius as he looked at the man that apparently held a part of his soul.

"I am although I am also the angel Samael and it can become confusing when more than one version of a person exists at the same time" the Emperor hadn't said anything since the truth and been revealed when he suddenly stood from his throne (while keeping his hand on it so it stays powered) before bringing Samael into t hug.

"This entire war between brothers was my own mistake" Tet was surprised at what was happening but when he took a closer look at the Emperor he grinned like a gremlin.

'multiple versions of him are converging using Samael's Light as a beacon' and they wear bringing with them all the emotions that Revelations had discarded throughout his long life.
