Chapter 2 - Young Master Ling Lan was born!

Ling Lan regained consciousness again. But at this moment, she seemed to have some problem with her eyes. She could only rely on her senses. She felt like she was enclosed in a sealed bathtub of warm water. All around her was water. Sometimes it seemed that someone was moving around, causing her to shake slightly...

Didn't she die? Was she just kept in the hospital receiving nutritional fluids to recover?

Before she could even figure it out, she lost consciousness again and fell into total darkness.

After an unknown period of time, she woke up again, still immersed in the warm liquid. This time, the period of being awake was a little longer than the first time.

This time, she could hear some sounds, but they were like being blocked by countless walls, making it impossible for her to understand what they were. She really wanted to know her situation, but since she couldn't move, she could only try to figure it out by listening to the sounds. Before she could make any sense of it, she lost consciousness again.

Damn it! Can't you give us more time? Before Ling Lan lost consciousness, she couldn't help protesting.

It seemed that Ling Lan's protest had worked. Ling Lan was becoming more and more conscious. Eventually, one day, she felt that she could move.

Having been trapped for such a long time, she naturally threw her fists and kicked her legs vigorously. Unfortunately, she didn't move much before she became extremely tired and even had the urge to sleep.

This won't do. One can't remain this weak any longer. Otherwise, how could one endure those inhumane pains... Well, it seems that I haven't felt pain for a long time. Could it be that the pain attacks only occur when I'm in a coma? Ling Lan suddenly felt that being in a coma might actually be a good thing.

However, Ling Lan was not a girl who preferred to avoid problems. Otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to endure the daily severe pain for twenty-four years. She gathered her strength and began to practice the set of health preservation techniques that an old doctor had taught her after treating her at the military hospital.

Although she had been practicing for over a decade and never felt any kind of energy being generated, each time after the practice, the severe pain in her body would be greatly reduced, and her endurance would improve a little. Of course, this might just be a psychological comfort, a kind of illusion. But regardless, it gave her the motivation to keep practicing.

During this training session, she lost consciousness. When Ling Lan regained consciousness again, she had no idea how much time had passed. First, she moved her limbs and did some exercises to get her body in motion, and then she checked her condition.

This realization sent her into a daze. Because she actually felt an aura that she had never felt before. Suddenly, she felt a sense of certainty. Could it be that she was truly a prodigy? After a near-death experience, did she somehow manage to open up the Ren and Du meridians and become a great martial artist of the era?

Ling Lan couldn't figure out why her years of hard training had not worked before, but this time it finally succeeded. However, having an awareness of qi is always a good thing. The old doctor had said that if one could develop an awareness of qi, it would indicate that there was a possibility of curing the illness. You know, for the past twenty-four years, she had been looking forward to her illness being cured every day, without having to endure the unbearable, almost inhuman pain that made her body feel as if it was being crushed.

Ling Lan was very excited and her interest in cultivation grew even stronger. Eventually, she developed into a habit of practicing immediately upon waking up, and even reached the state of meditation. She didn't yet realize that she had turned into a fetus. Everything from her past life was no longer relevant to her, and there was no possibility of anything she could be worried about happening.

Lan Lu Feng, with a sad expression on her face, gently touched the fetus in her womb. Having been pregnant for nearly five months, she had recently not felt any movement from the baby. This made her somewhat worried. If it weren't for the check-up, which revealed that the baby's growth and development were all normal, she would definitely have broken down emotionally.

Yes, she couldn't bear the blow any longer. After her husband Ling Xiao had been on the battlefield for over a month, news arrived that the fleet he led, while attempting to flank the enemy's rear camp through the death passage, had encountered an accident and lost contact with the headquarters.

It was later determined that when passing through the death passage, they encountered an energy outburst from the depths of the death star's debris zone. The entire fleet was swallowed up by this violent energy, and all the combatants perished without a single survivor, and all their remains were gone.

Before she could fully accept this tragic news, even more disgusting things happened. Ling Xiao's distant collateral relatives actually wanted to inherit the title that Ling Xiao sacrificed his life for, and they even pretended to show kindness by promising to take care of her for the rest of her life.

Lan Luofeng immediately expelled those disgusting people from the place. However, the unyielding ones managed to contact officials from the federal government and come to discuss this matter.

Lan Luofeng is not a weak person. Crying and whining would only allow those despicable villains to take away the honor that Ling Xiao sacrificed for.

She had no choice but to act. With great determination, she made a bold declaration in front of those hateful and despicable villains: Ling Xiao has a son. The child in her womb is his. Only his son is qualified to inherit all of Ling Xiao's honors.

The federal law regarding the inheritance of military honors titles is biased, only allowing male relatives to inherit. This was the reason why Lan Luo Feng didn't speak up initially, as she had assumed she had children. Because both she and Ling Qin knew that the baby in her womb was a girl, but in that situation, she couldn't afford to back down. In this regard, Ling Qin's housekeeper greatly admired her decisiveness and agreed with her decision.

They have already made a plan. Once Ling Lan is born, they will arrange for a female infant to be raised from a young age as a loyal soldier for Ling Lan. When she grows up, they will marry her in public.

They will also find a way to address Ling Lan's other identity, so that Ling Lan can appear openly as a girl. Of course, all of this still needs to be carefully studied and researched. Lan Luofeng believes that when Ling Lan grows up, after all these years, she will eventually come up with a perfect solution that satisfies both sides.

Lan Lu Feng had only one thought: everything she and Ling Xiao had belonged solely to Ling Lan. Anything else that had somehow crawled out of some unknown nest or den, had no right to take advantage of Ling Lan. She would absolutely not allow it. She would maintain this, no matter what it took.

Of course, Lan Luofeng had such confidence because the servants and staff of Lingxi branch were extremely loyal to their master. They kept the Ling family well-guarded and prevented those greedy people from harming their young master. Moreover, the Ling family also had its own dedicated hospital, which helped Lan Luofeng keep the secret that Ling Lan was a girl hidden away.

So, under strict security measures, Lan Luofeng finally reached the time for giving birth. Of course, the place chosen for the delivery was her own hospital. At the critical moment, nothing could go wrong. The doctors and nurses who delivered Lan Luofeng were the assassins specially arranged by the Ling family in the hospital. They would definitely not disclose this secret.

Ling Lan was still in her meditation. The incessant, heart-wrenching cries constantly disturbed her concentration, making her extremely frustrated. At the same time, she suddenly heard the sound of water, and her body was being repelled by an unknown force, sliding downwards headfirst.

She was startled and immediately spread her legs to stabilize her position, preventing her body from falling down.

"Damn it! Why won't the baby come out? The amniotic fluid is almost all gone." The doctor and the nurse by the delivery table were sweating profusely all over their foreheads. Despite everything being going smoothly, the baby just wouldn't come out. This situation is very similar to a difficult delivery. You know, if the lady's real labor is difficult, a cesarean section will have to be performed. In that case, the secret of our little miss won't be completely safe anymore, because there are more people involved and the possibility of a leak increases significantly.

Lan Lu Feng gritted her teeth and stroked her protruding belly, soothingly saying: "Baby, don't bother your mother. Come out and meet your mother quickly. If you hold a grudge against your mother for making you live an abnormal life, you should also come out and hold the grudge against her, right?"

OK, Lan Lu Feng's intelligence has also been severely damaged by the pain, and what he says is extremely unreliable. How could a mother make her child hold a grudge against her?

However, Lan Lu Feng's words were overheard by Ling Lan. Corresponding to her previous feelings and considering the difficulties she had faced during that period, she instantly realized that she had actually become a fetus. That's why she couldn't move for such a long time...

However, she clearly died, didn't she? Was she reborn again? Why didn't she drink Mengpo's soup? Her memories of the previous life were so vivid? Hearing that gentle and pleasant voice, she knew for sure that this mother was definitely not the one from her previous life. This also ruled out the possibility of rebirth.

"Come on, do you really have the energy to think about reincarnation or rebirth now? Your mother has been having a difficult labor because of you... Stop holding your feet in that position!" A childish voice shouted angrily in her mind, reminding her of what she should do at this moment.

Ling Lan listened. Unconsciously, she pulled her legs back, and then she heard a heart-wrenching scream. Suddenly, a force appeared and pushed her away.

Suddenly, she felt there was light...

Before she could turn around, she felt as if someone's fingers were digging into her mouth, making her feel nauseous. She couldn't help but protest, and at that moment, she heard her own terrified cries!

Yes, it was a cry! Ling Lan would never admit that it was a cry. It would be too embarrassing for her.

"Madam, Misses are all fine!" The doctor, one of the guards of the Ling family, finally let out a sigh of relief. The mother and daughter were safe and their mission was accomplished. With a smile on her face, she carried Ling Lan, who had already cried twice and decided not to speak anymore, to Lan Luo Feng's side.

Lan Lu Feng opened her tired eyes and tenderly touched her child. Then her expression brightened and she spoke firmly: "Tell Uncle Qin that I and Young Master Ling Lan are both safe!"

"Yes, madam!" The doctor also suppressed his smile and his expression became serious.

The birth of the young lady, no, the birth of the young man doesn't mean the end of everything. We must safeguard the honor left by General Ling Xiao and there are still many tough battles to be fought.
