Chapter 201 - Dugall

["UED Marshal" Gerard Dugall Source: StarCraft Universe]

Character Card!

After seeing a character card, which he had never drawn before, appear on the system panel,

Marcus immediately scanned the contents of the card.

Previously, when drawing items, skills, or buildings, there were descriptions of their effects and often humorous remarks.

However, character cards only specified the character's title, name, and source world.

This was normal, as characters don't have 'effects'.

Marcus didn't dwell on this and began to ponder who this somewhat familiar name belonged to.

Searching his fragmented memories of the StarCraft Universe's plot, Marcus quickly realized who was on the character card.

"The UED Marshal from starcraft 1, I remember he was eventually hunted down by Kerrigan and forced to commit suicide," Marcus thought to himself.

Before this, he had never drawn a character card and didn't know how the System worked.

Did it create a replica identical to the original world's character out of thin air?

Or did it directly abduct the person from their original world?

Shaking his head, Marcus used the character card in front of him.

A soft white light appeared out of thin air, then slowly condensed into a man in a black military uniform, with a sturdy build.

Alexia, standing nearby, watched everything unfold with curiosity, wondering what strange new thing Marcus had conjured up.

"Gerard Dugall."

Marcus called the man's name in a deep voice.

It seemed this voice activated Dugall's previously muddled consciousness.

Dugall's formerly cloudy eyes immediately became clear and focused.

He scanned his surroundings, and upon seeing Marcus, Dugall almost instinctively gave a UED military salute.

At the same time, he blurted out,

"Sir!"

Marcus nodded, not surprised by this.

The System's explanation stated that drawn characters would retain their original personality and memories while ensuring loyalty to Marcus himself.

However, this loyalty was not absolute; if Marcus forced certain characters to do things against their principles, their loyalty would significantly decrease, even risking rebellion.

For example,

If Marcus drew Kerrigan and then ordered her to kill Raynor, Kerrigan would probably turn around and twist Marcus into a pretzel with her Level 12 psionic abilities.

This meant that Marcus couldn't simply treat the drawn characters as mere tools; he had to build good relationships with them.

After silently complaining to himself, Marcus looked at Dugall.

"What's your last memory?"

After a moment of thought, Dugall spoke.

"After finishing my last drink on my final flagship, I raised my gun to my head."

Dugall had no memories after that.

"Hmm, this way, at least I don't have to worry about the starcraft world's plot changing too much."

Marcus nodded secretly.

However, Marcus still had some doubts.

That is, did the System panel directly pull over a Dugall who had attempted suicide?

Or did it resurrect an identical clone?

"It seems I'll have to draw another character card next time to figure out how the System works."

Temporarily setting aside this mystery, Marcus carefully observed Gerard Dugall, the renowned UED general.

Marcus himself wasn't very familiar with Dugall.

Before transmigrating, he was a starcraft 2 player and only had a general understanding of the starcraft 1 plot.

However, he did know some of Dugall's military achievements.

After the UED Expeditionary Force, led by Dugall, arrived in the Koprulu Sector, it took only a few months to conquer the core worlds of the Terran Empire and the Tyranid Swarm, Korhal and Char, and even used drugs to control the newly born Overmind.

His initial military achievements could be described as outrageous,

which was enough to demonstrate Dugall's strong command ability.

Although he wasn't the administrative talent Marcus desperately needed,

Dugall was, after all, a well-known Commander, so this draw was definitely worth the cost.

Next, Marcus briefly introduced Dugall to Alexia, who was beside him, and simply appointed Dugall as the current Fleet Commander of Avarax.

Although this so-called "fleet" consisted of only two small pirate ships and two armed merchant ships.

"This should relieve some of your pressure. You can hand over your work to Dugall during this time."

Marcus patted Alexia's shoulder.

"I'll go back to the Ishimura with Dugall first, so the medical department can implant the RIG System in him."

In the sky not far away, the Holy Chamber was slowly approaching, then landed on the terrace.

Marcus and Dugall boarded the spaceship, then broke through the atmosphere and flew towards the Ishimura in orbit.

During this time,

Marcus explained the general situation of the four worlds—Avatar, Resident Evil, Dead Space, and Warhammer—to Dugall, who was still unaware of the circumstances.

He also briefly introduced the organization called the "Universal Union."

"In short, you'll stick to your old profession, leading troops and fighting battles. This universe will never lack enemies more powerful than Mengsk's Terran Empire, Kerrigan's Tyranid Swarm, and even the Protoss."

"So those are our fleet?"

As soon as Marcus finished speaking, Dugall looked at the four spaceships floating in orbit next to the Ishimura.

Two of them were small pirate ships that miraculously survived the war against the Green Skin fleet, only about one kilometer in size, half the size of the Ishimura.

The other two were heavily modified armed merchant ships, needless to say.

"Ahem, although it looks a bit shabby now, we will expand the fleet's size later," Marcus said, rubbing his nose.

"Other worlds," Dugall murmured, looking out the window at the unfamiliar starry sky and the Great Rift, which spanned the galaxy and emitted purple light.

"Do I still have a chance to go back?"

Dugall turned to look at Marcus.

Marcus naturally knew what Dugall was referring to.

Looking at the StarCraft Universe that repeatedly appeared on the System panel, Marcus nodded.

"There should be a chance, but what would you go back for? After your death, the remnants of the UED scattered directly and merged into the Terran Empire."

"Nothing, just to satisfy my curiosity."

Dugall shook his head and said with a serious expression,

"You can rest assured, I am now loyal to you."

As the two were talking, the Holy Chamber shook slightly and docked in the Ishimura's flight deck area.

"Let's go, I'll give you a good tour of the Ishimura, and introduce you to the colleagues you'll be working with."

The two disembarked from the spaceship and walked into the interior of the Ishimura.
