Chapter 149 - Progress

"How were the results of this attack?" Eytukan, leader of the Forest Na'vi, inquired of Tsu'tey, the clan's designated successor.

"The effect was minimal," Tsu'tey replied. "The Sky People's defenses are getting tighter and tighter. Now we have to take huge risks just to kill one Sky Person."

"I understand. You may leave," Eytukan nodded. After Tsu'tey departed, he sighed deeply. "Our strength alone cannot threaten the Sky People. Perhaps we should consider uniting with other clans."

"Mother Eywa will help us," Mo'at, Eytukan's wife and the clan's spiritual leader, responsible for communicating with Eywa, said, leaning against her husband.

"The scale of the beast tide is getting smaller and smaller," Eytukan countered, listing the difficulties the Na'vi currently faced. "And there's that strange disease that has driven many creatures mad. The environment in the forest has suffered immense damage. We only have one last chance for a counterattack. If we can't heavily wound the Sky People, I will go to the ocean clan for help." This was a grim, realistic assessment; the forest clan alone could not defeat the Sky People, not even with Eywa's direct aid.

"I will hold a ceremony to let Eywa restore the damaged environment in the forest," Mo'at nodded. This was one of her sacred duties as a spiritual leader.

"Go. We will launch a counterattack at dawn. A more complex environment will be beneficial for our battle." Under the regulation of Pandora's will, Eywa, one night's time was sufficient for large areas of the forest to regain vitality. However, for those creatures afflicted by the strange disease and driven mad, even Mo'at, skilled in herbal medicine, was helpless. For the Na'vi, the only silver lining was that no Na'vi had yet been infected with the madness.

Stepping out of the clan leader's exclusive residence, Eytukan looked at the clan members gathered within the Hometree. He began to raise his arms and shout, "For Mother Eywa! And for our home, our very survival! At dawn, we will fight the Sky People to the death!" The Na'vi below responded with fierce war cries, their eyes filled with rage born from the invasion. After the pre-battle ceremony, Mo'at, the spiritual leader, began to perform the ritual to communicate with Mother Eywa. All the clan members began to pray in low voices. Countless pure white, jellyfish-like Tree of Souls seeds slowly drifted down, gathering on Mo'at in the center. The Tree of Souls seeds were an extension and manifestation of Eywa's will; their large-scale appearance indicated that Eywa had focused her gaze on this area.

"The ritual was very successful. Those seeds buried deep underground will take root, sprout, and grow back into towering trees," Mo'at said after the ritual, standing beside her husband and looking outside the Hometree. Being at a high vantage point, they could clearly see countless plants breaking through the ground in the night and growing at an incredibly fast pace, swiftly repairing the environment that had been devastated by several months of war.

"This is truly incredible." Inside Hell's Gate Base, everyone stopped what they were doing and, with the help of the base's searchlights, observed everything happening outside. This was the first time they had so directly experienced Eywa's power—the power to instantly change the environment of an entire area. Even quite a few plant roots had broken through the ground within the PDF Soldiers' positions, and with savage force, they began to destroy the previously incredibly sturdy defensive fortifications.

"Quickly burn those plants! Reconstruct the fortifications!" In the trench positions outside Hell's Gate Base, commanders of all ranks began issuing frantic orders. High-power, giant element flamethrowers preheated and ignited, unleashing dazzling flames, mercilessly scorching the plants in these positions. Other combat engineers and similar troops urgently worked to repair the damaged fortifications. No one knew if the indigenous Na'vi's cold arrows would suddenly shoot out from the darkness, so they had to work with extreme speed.

"This is the prelude to the Na'vi's counterattack." Wesker, observing from the command tower, looked towards the forest. He knew that everything happening was definitely not a mere coincidence. "How are Isaac and their mental link stability and duration?" Wesker turned his head and looked at Dr. Grace, who was also astonished by Eywa's power.

"Tyrell's Avatar body experienced genetic collapse, likely due to forced maturation. The other three are completely normal and are ready to execute the infiltration mission," Dr. Grace responded matter-of-factly. Naturally, she wouldn't show any kindness to Wesker, whom she considered a butcher of the Na'vi and Pandora's creatures.

"Then let's take this opportunity to officially introduce their team to the Na'vi." Wesker stood up, opened his RIG, and quickly gathered Isaac, Jill, and Carlos in the laboratory. "The infiltration plan can now begin, during the Na'vi's next attack." After extensive discussion, the plan for the first appearance of Isaac and the other two Avatars had been finalized. "The success or failure of your mission concerns our future development direction and strategy on this planet."

Isaac, Jill, and Carlos looked serious. After replaying the plan's contents in their minds, they then lay down on the link beds, their consciousness entering their Avatar bodies. After the connection was complete, the rest of the people in the laboratory also began to act, moving all three link beds onto a mobile cargo container and then onto a giant truck.

"This is Nightingale 4. We have discovered a large-scale beast tide and Na'vi clan approaching Hell's Gate Base. Estimated contact time: one hour." In the command tower, a signal from an armed helicopter came in, bringing news that the Na'vi and the beast tide were about to attack.

"All troops enter combat readiness! Accelerate the clearing of those plants in the positions and construct defensive fortifications!" The order was issued, and the entire Hell's Gate Base entered a state of emergency. According to intelligence from the frontline reconnaissance units, the scale of this beast tide was extremely vast. Eywa had gathered all the wild beasts within an area of nearly a million square kilometers nearby. Their number had already exceeded ten million, and the scale was even greater than the sum of the previous several beast tide attacks.

"All Tyrant Legions are to be deployed into battle!" Over these past few months, the Tyrant breeding laboratory in the Warhammer world had been operating non-stop, cultivating thousands more Tyrants. Among them were even dozens of giant Tyrants from "Resident Evil: Damnation," with a height of four meters, capable of contending with infantry fighting vehicles in terms of raw strength.
