Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 – On the Edge of Light and Darkness.

Veyron had just faced the old man's second concubine, but he was saved by his own self from a parallel world.

"Damn… I thought the old man's second concubine would attack later, but it turned out this fast," he muttered, panting.

Yet, his parallel-world self felt strange. He had become a dark figure, having lost all the love he once possessed.

"Who exactly do I love in this parallel world?" he wondered. "Ah, better not think about it. I need to deal with Selene before she becomes suspicious."

Without wasting a moment, Celestienne ran straight to the classroom and found Selene alone. All the students watched as she led Selene away.

"Eh, that's Princess Celestienne… why is she taking Selene?" whispered one noble student.

"Maybe Celestienne wants to be Selene's friend," another replied.

Selene looked confused as she was pulled along.

"Hey, Celestienne, why are you suddenly dragging me?" she asked, annoyed.

"Just come with me. I want to talk to you alone," Celestienne replied.

Arriving at Celestienne's room, she opened the door with a warm smile.

"Please, Selene. Sit down. I want to talk."

"Alright… just tell me quickly," Selene said, full of curiosity.

Before starting, Celestienne locked the door to prevent interruptions. Selene froze, puzzled.

"Selene, have you been spying on me all this time?" she asked seriously.

"Huh? No, I haven't," Selene replied, panic in her voice.

"Then why are you so flustered? Answer honestly. I won't get angry."

Eventually, Selene revealed her reason. Celestienne smiled, stifling a laugh.

"Hahaha… So you thought I was lying? How funny, Selene. I am indeed weak, a student of Ashen Vale. So don't be suspicious of me."

Selene was shocked; Celestienne had known everything all along.

"So you brought me here just to say that?" Selene asked, her face grim.

"Yes. Nothing else. You can go now," Celestienne replied, smiling with relief.

After Selene left, Celestienne bounced on her bed, joyful.

"Hahaha… The method from my first-life novel really works! Now it's time to focus on my parallel-world self."

The Merchant City and Veyron

Celestienne prepared to leave the academy to stroll and enjoy a leisurely life.

"Alright… time to go to the city," she muttered cheerfully.

In the hallway toward the academy gate, she spotted a beautiful and approachable woman: red hair like a warrior, clothes the color of blood—Velissandra, from the second strongest family of Crescent Moon.

"Velissandra… skilled with a sword, but I must stay focused on the city," Celestienne thought.

In the city, Celestienne was awed by the bustling streets. She wanted to uncover the secret of the whispers from the parallel world.

Suddenly, a small child appeared—green hair, sea-blue eyes, tattered clothes.

"Who are you? How do you know this city?" asked Celestienne.

"I'm a beggar, traveling from west to east," he replied.

Celestienne invited him to eat and asked about nearby cities. The child explained:

Mercatoria: main trading city

Aruna Harbor: fishing and trading port

Nutmara: spice kingdom

Armoria: weapon kingdom

Carnival: meat kingdom

After the meal, Celestienne asked about his family.

"My parents were killed by a dragon. I want revenge but have no talent."

"Do you want me to be your older sister? You can stay with me," Celestienne smiled.

"Yes… I want that," the child cried happily.

Celestienne named him Veyron Aldrecht. Yet, she sensed a demonic aura surrounding him.

"This demonic aura… it must be a curse. But it's okay, I'll guide you," Celestienne thought.

They bought new clothes and continued their walk. Celestienne felt happy; Veyron reminded her of her sibling from her first life.

Hell and Lucifer

In the demon world, demons tried to break the seal of the cage.

"Oh Lord, awaken! We shall rule again!" the demons trembled.

On the 2,000th attempt, the cage opened. The figure inside stepped out, and all the demons bowed.

"King Lucifer has awoken! My clan will rule again! Hahaha!"

Lucifer's terrifying aura made the moon tremble. Celestienne, browsing in a bookstore, felt something familiar.

"Why does this aura feel so familiar? Better focus on my little brother first," she thought.

The West and the Dragon

In the western desert, the sun scorched the sands. In a cave protected by a powerful barrier, a dragon appeared: huge fangs, blue-green wings.

"Celestienne Aurelith, this time you will die," its voice shook the cave.

The dragon laughed, ready to strike Celestienne down. Tension rose, and a fight seemed inevitable.

After buying supplies in the city, Celestienne studied the map of the vast western desert. The terrifying aura she sensed earlier grew stronger from that direction.

"Veyron, we have to go west. Something awaits us there," Celestienne said seriously.

Veyron gazed at his sister, eyes shining, still hesitant but eager.

"I'll come with you, Sis."

They began their journey across the scorching desert. Dusty winds blurred their vision, but Celestienne remained alert, leading the way.

"Keep your distance, Veyron. Don't get provoked," she warned. Veyron nodded, trying to steady himself.

After hours of exhausting travel, they reached a large cave with a strong barrier. The dragon appeared again, fangs bared, blue-green wings spread, eyes full of rage.

"Celestienne Aurelith, this time you will die!" the dragon's roar shook the air, sending sand flying.

Celestienne quickly assessed the situation.

"Alright… strategy first. Frontal attack is too risky," she muttered, observing the dragon for a weak spot in the cave barrier.

Veyron looked anxious, but Celestienne patted his shoulder.

"Relax, Veyron. Focus on defense. I'll distract the dragon."

Celestienne channeled her energy, releasing a light spell that reflected off the cave barrier. The dragon was disturbed for a moment, roaring and swooping low to strike.

Veyron tried to help, releasing a small amount of his demonic aura, though he didn't fully understand his power yet. Celestienne looked at him and said,

"Good, Veyron. Feel your energy, but don't lose control."

After several tense minutes, Celestienne found a gap: the western barrier of the cave thinned as the dragon moved its wings. She threw a ball of light at the weak spot, breaking part of the barrier and forcing the dragon to retreat deeper into the cave.

Both of them exhaled in relief.

"Luckily, we survived… but this is just the beginning," Celestienne said, staring at the dust-covered cave entrance.

Veyron looked at his sister in awe.

"If I keep training, one day I could fight that dragon myself, right, Sis?"

Celestienne smiled warmly.

"Of course, Veyron. I'll guide you. But for now, we must return to the city to plan our next move. Lucifer is on the move, and the threat is far greater."

In the distance, from the West, Lucifer's terrifying aura slowly approached the human world. His echoing laughter signaled an even greater battle ahead.

Celestienne stared westward, determination blazing.

"Alright… time to prepare everything. This world must not fall into Lucifer's hands."

Epilogue

Celestienne gazed at the sky after defeating the dragon with Veyron. A faint smile appeared, but her eyes still held sorrow.

"My peaceful life… it's gone too far, yet somehow I still have to take care of this world I never wanted," she murmured.

Veyron looked at his sister with concern.

"Sis… why do you look so sad?"

Celestienne sighed, patting his shoulder.

"Come on, let's return to the city and make a strategy. We have to face Lucifer so the world won't be destroyed, okay?"

Veyron smiled brightly.

"Okay, Sis! We'll make sure to save the world, hehe."

Celestienne looked at Veyron, her resolve renewed.

"Once Lucifer is dealt with, I'll finally have a peaceful life. If not… I'll still be sad."

With that, they both gazed at the horizon, their steps firm, ready to face the greater threat ahead.
