Chapter 2 - Transmigration[2]

Arcurus looked around, his brows knitting in confusion. His breathing was shallow, uneven, as his eyes dartad in every direction. What he saw made no sense.

He was sitting in endless white. Not just a blank wall or floor, but absolute white, stretching infinitely in every diraction. There wasn't a single shadow, no trace of black, no depth or corner to suggest this was a room. Even the ground beneath his feet was the same stark white, blending seamlessly into the horizon.

His stomach twisted. He blinked severel times, telling himself over and over—

'This has to be a dream. This has to he a dream. There's no other explanation. Yes! I must calm down.'

He pushed himself up to his feet, legs feeling strangely light yet unsteady. Instinctively, he reached up and adjusted his glassas. The sensation of the cold metal against his skin was too sharp to be a dream. Still, he forced himself to believe it was just an unusually vivid dream.

"Welcome, Arcurus Solmer."

The voice came from behind him, soft yet carrying a strange authority. It jolted through his spine like an electric shock. His body twisted around so fast his glassas nearly slipped.

'What the shit!?'

Standing there was… an impossibly beautiful girl,no, a loli, looked around twelve years old. Her dress was pure white, flowing yet motionless, and her hair matched it perfectly. Her eyelids remained closed, but somehow she radiated an overwhelming presence that pressed ageinst his skin.

Arcurus felt his world tilte side ways. He knew dreams pulled from fragments of memory, from faces he'd seen somewhere in life, he got to know about it from a science TV show, a seemingly insignificant information but it fascinated him so he remembered.

But he could swear on his own life he had naver seen this girl before. Not even close. And no one he had ever met looked like this.

'This... this may not be a dream after all...'

The realization crawled into his chest like ice. If this wasn't someone from his memories… then maybe this wasn't a dream at all.

"…Who are you?"

His voice was cautious, but it betrayad the tightness in his throat.

"I am the Divine Law of the universe, the one you insulted."

Her words detonated in his mind. His thoughts stuttered, only two words filtered through.

'universe… insult?'

Arcurus's ' hand shot up to his temple, as though holding his brain in place could stop it from short-circuiting.

"Wait wait—hold on. You mean to tell me you dragged me here just because I cursed at you? Seriously? There are probably billions of people doing the same thing every day, and you singled me out? I was just… frustrated because my life is a mess! Are you actually that petty?"

His voice trembled halfway between anger and disbelief, but the surreal stillness around them made it sound small.

'Shit! Shit! I fucked up! I really fucked!! Who knew cursing the universe will get me in trouble. Fuuuuck!!'

Arcurus felt his head was about to explod. The white space pulsed faintly. Arcurus sense of reality wavered; the world felt like a fragile glass sphere, his thoughts slipping between dream and waking life. His rational mind screamed this can't be real, but his gut whispered a heavier truth— he fucked up big time.

His hands trembled, and his knees threatened to give way. The girl opaned her mouth again, her tone calm but absolute.

"…You are mistaken. We conducted a random luck game among mortals to select someone for a task to reviving an extinct primordial race. Your name was drawn. That is why you are here, to assimilate with the Bloodline and be sent to an appropriate world."

The words slammed into him harder than any insult could. His fingers twitched against his sides, nails biting into his palms.

"…So let me get this straight,You can snatch me out of my life over some cosmic mission… not because you were offended, but because you rolled dice and I just happened to be the unlucky pick?"

He said slowly, his voice dry and cracking. She just nodded.

'The fuck...? The actual fuck!? I feel so stupid right now. Shit!! Man I wish I could just disappear. Why did I even think that I may be some chosen one. Damn it!'

He cursed inwardly at his pathetic self, disbelief twisting into something halfway between outrage and bitter amusement.

"So this wasn't some grand recognition of my worth… just random chance?"

Another nod.

'Damn it's actually true...'

The sting was sharpar than he expected. Even if this was a dream, a small, pathetic part of him had felt validated and seen.

For the first time in years. But even though the Divine Laws said it first time, he still asked again with hope, He'd thought maybe the universe had chosen him for a reason. Instead, it was just blind luck.

'What did I even expect? Damn.'

A bitter laugh almost rose in his throat, but instead, his knees gave way. He caught himself halfway, rubbing his eyes furiously, pushing his glasses back onto his face like it might help him think clearer.

"Alright… a few questions, then. What exactly is this primordial race? How can they be extinct if they're primordial? Why do you want to revive them? And what happens if I refuse?"

His tone was cold now, sharper. The girl was silent for a long moment, the whiteness around them swallowing the pause whole.

"The race was known as the Primordial Divine Dragons of Oblivion. We eradicated them. Their power made them arrogant and they sought to disrupt the balance of the universe. We were forced to erase them completely. But they were still Primordial, a pillar of existence. A symbol of time beyond reckoning. We believe that even they deserve another chance.

This time, however, we shall grant the bloodline to mortals. We choose mortals who have endured hardship, believing they will resist the arrogance that once doomed the race.

And if you refuse… we will simply choose another mortal."

Her words were calm, but to Arcurus, they carried the cold indifference of a judge passing sentence.

Arcurus felt as if someone had slapped him across the face again, hard, but this time, he didn't spiral into shock like before. He drew in a long, shaky breath, forcing his lungs to cooperate.

His fingers uncurled from the tight fists they'd made without him noticing. Slowly and deliberately, he straightened his spine. His body still carried a faint tremor, his breathing uneven, but his mind was clearing.

'Welp, that was expected. I shouldn't think much about being special. Even if I'm not now, I will make myself in the future. The opportunity is here. I just need to grab it.'

He fixed his gaze on the girl in front of him. He mind was clearer, sharper. The earlier self pity about not being the chosen one had disappeared.

"Alright… with that aside, I still have a few more questions. I hope you can answer."

The Divine Law gave a small, knowing nod.

"You may proceed."

There had been something gnawing at him since the moment she appeared, something so absurd it was almost distracting. His hand lifted, index finger trembling slightly as he pointed at her.

"Why,are you in the form of a… little girl? Is this how you actually look?"

He asked with a strange expression, For the first time, the Divine Law moved. Her eyelids parted.

What stared back at him was not human, not even remotely. Silver eyes like twin stars pinned him in place. He couldn't breathe. It was as if those eyes peeled away every layer of his being, stripping his thoughts, his memories, even his soul bare in an instant. He felt naked before them, like a creature exposed under the glare of a cosmic predator.

Then, as suddenly as they'd opened, her eyes closed again.

"You are mistaken once again. This form is for your mental wellbeing. We wish to converse without causing you to lose sense of reality. This form mirrors someone you can subconsciously relate to, thus, you can listen instead of unraveling."

She said evenly.

"How thoughtful of you,"

Arcurus muttered, his voice dripping with a bitterness he didn't bother to hide.

"Then let me ask, what kind of world are you sending me to?"

"It is a world you know very well. Your rejected novel,it is similar to that."

Divine Laws said without changing her tone. For a moment, his mind went blank. Then the words hit him like a steel beam.

"…Wait, hold on. Hold on just a damn minute. You want me to inherit the bloodline of an extinct primordial race, revive them, that's fine. I agree. But really? you're throwing me into a world based on my own failed work? Are you mocking me?!"

His voice rose into a full shout, echoing across the endless white. At this point, he didn't care that she was the manifestation of the Divine Laws. He was too stunned, too insulted. A failed work,a world built from the corpse of his own rejection? Was the universe mocking him?

"You misunderstand yet again,That world existed long before your imagination touched it. Like many cosmic coincidences, your idea merely happened to align with the truth."

The Divine Law replied, unshaken. Her words landed like a blunt impact to his chest. He stumbled back a step, feeling as though a truck had plowed through him.

So it wasn't some deliberate act of the universe to humiliate him… but that only left him feeling even more foolish. For a moment, he'd genuinely thought the cosmos had built his failed creation into reality. Now, he just felt narcissistic.

He took another deep breath, forcing his heartbeat down. Adjusting his glasses, he asked,

"So… you're saying a world like that existed even before I started writing it? Like Earth?"

The Divine Law inclined her head.

'Shit! I should really stop making a joke out of myself. Every time I expect something big, I just feel like the biggest idiot for even expecting anything. So embarrassing~'

Arcurus felt like he was dying of embarrassment. But he didn't let embarrassment cloud his thoughts. He needed to know more, this information could be his trump card. He could still have a chance of not dying instantly upon arrival.

"And… how much does it actually match my imagination? The world, the power system, the characters… the plot dynamics?"

He asked. His voice was a lot calmer then before.

"The structure, power system, mechanisms, and most characters align with that world's future. The rest do not. Beyond what you imagined, you have no knowledge. Must Tread carefully."

Silence settled between them, the kind that seemed to stretch on forever in the emptiness.

"Have you asked all you wished to ask?"

She finally said.

"Mostly,But this next one isn't really a question but, it's… a request. Since you want me to revive that race… it's through… you know… sex, right? So maybe give me a system that helps me, I don't know… seduce women? Maybe I can get rewards for every woman I get and also give me seduction skills early on to help? Maybe?"

His hand rose to scratch his cheek, eyes glancing aside in embarrassment. But he needed to ask. If he got a system, life will be a lot easier. Besides, everyone's dream is having a system assist them. The Divine Law's tone was still calm as she said.

"The bloodline is already dangerously close to breaking the balance of existence. Adding more would make you the very thing we wish to prevent. Regardless, in the world we are sending you to, power rules above all. If you have strength, you shall have anything and anyone."

Arcurus nodded slowly, the implication sinking in.

"If there are no further questions, we shall begin the bloodline assimilation."

"Wait! I just remembered something important. What do you mean assimilation? I get that you will assimilate the Bloodline into my body, but I'm a 27-year-old man. And my novel starts in the academy.

If I want to have even a silver chance of survival, I need to be their as a student. Then wouldn't it be better to reincarnate me into another body and then assimilate the Bloodline?"

"You do not need worry. We will transmigrate you into the world in your original body and will reverse your age to 18. So you can easily get in."

"...That's possible? ... I guess it is. But why not do that? Reincarnation I mean."

Arcurus asked, stunned.

"It's because you don't want to accept any one else as your parents nor abandon the body that has part of your parents."

Divine Laws said flatly. Arcurus's heart skipped a but. Even when he was talking about reincarnation, thinking about a new body, life family. There was a part of him that silently protested.

"If there is nothing more, we shall begin."

Divine Laws said as she lifted her hand lifted, and the air split.

*Vmmmm~!*

From the tear in space descended an orb, multicolored crystal, shimmering with impossible hues. It radiated a presence so vast it warped the emptiness around it. Countless Chains bound it, each one humming with the weight of laws older than stars. Runes flared and pulsed, trying desperately to suppress the thing's undulations.

They failed.

Arcurus collapsed to the ground because of the pressure, his legs refusing to hold him. Every nerve in his body went numb, his skin prickling with cold. His mind screamed at him to feel fear, to run, but what gripped him wasn't fear.

It was something far worse.

Not terror of pain, not dread of death but the suffocating, crushing certainty that he was inches away from being erased from existence entirely.

'What even is that thing?'
