Judging by Shaw's face, it looked like she had anger issues to tame much more a Dinosaur.
And just when it looked like she was about to ball her fist and punch the egg, a crack split down the middle then branched into a webbed pattern.
Her eyes widened and everyone skewed there focus to see what kind of Dinosaur she hatched.
The egg burst open violently, shattering the hard shell all over the floor of the Heavenly Pad and the Dinosaur within in revealed itself.
It was around the size of a vehicles tyre and had a short, stubby neck with underdeveloped, bony spines running down it's back with two beady eyes staring up at Shawn.
It had a segmented tail and the spines on its back were some sought of make shift heat vents pushing out tiny puffs of smoke, while the entire body radiated a soft, constant flux of heat energy.
Shawn on the other hand was elated with a large smirk spread across her face.
Levi, with the information he now had, understood the gravity of the situation. He was just as surprised as everyone else, even though he'd known about this world for a little over twenty minutes he was beginning to fit in.
But, it was kind of redundant not to be elated, even the announcer himself also had his eyes beading out in shock.
"Shawn Ferrell has hatched a Spinosaurus— Heatback!"
Then he waited a couple of seconds for the heavenly pad to calculate the magical energy the Dinosaur possessed.
"Ranking; Special Grade, Level 5!"
A huge whisper followed as the Constable's daughter grasped her Dinosaur close to her breast despite the heat it was producing and walked into the New Tamers section.
Like that, the Hunters were called upon one by one to step forward and attempt to bond with their Dinosaurs and hatch their eggs.
Amongst the next set of people that were called upon, were mostly Grade One hatched Dinosaurs. Then their was one who failed to hatch his egg, leaving the Heavenly Pad in woes.
The next set of names continued, and they were mostly also Upper Grade One and a lot of individuals who failed to hatch their own egg.
Levi watched them leave, wondering if they were better off failing the ceremony than hatching an egg that had been already chastised by the people around him for it's size.
A few more people followed and that was when he started to notice lower rank Dinosaurs hatch more in number than higher ranked ones.
Lots of Grade Three's and Lower Grade Twos, there was one that clocked at Upper Grade Four, Level 5. But never did he see a Grade Five hatched Dinosaur.
There were a ton of failed Hunters, but there was no Grade Five, no single one.
Soon after, the lecture hall was empty, except for the failed Hunters and one Hunter.
Levi.
Noticing him, the announcer raised a brow at the sight of Levi and beconed on him to approach. "Has your name been called?"
Levi stood up from his seat and walked briskly to the platform. "No sir, I'm afraid not..."
The announcer looked at Levi with his eyebrow raised wondering where a hunter found such an unbelievably small egg.
"Are you sure that egg is that of a Dinosaur, young Hunter?" The announcer said.
Levi jerked back a little, frightened by the thunder on the man's voice. Then he nodded his head trying to look as confident as possible.
At this point, he was just curious to know what his own Dinosaur would look like or be ranked at. After seeing others, he was elated to know what his own could be.
The announcer raised his voice even louder, "Alright chap! Levi Quinn! Step onto the Heavenly Pad and carry out the Binding Ceremony..."
Levi's heart did a huge somersault as he headed towards the heavenly pad, hearing one of the failed Hunters scoff in disbelief that he would hatch something meaningful with such a small egg.
Levi pretended not to hear and made his way to the raised platform, driven by curiousity.
He gently offloaded the egg and placed it on the required location, proceeding to place his hand on the designated spot.
As soon as the hair on his hands came in contact with the air around that area, the egg cracked open. He barely touched it and the egg splintered causing the announcer to be startled a little bit.
Levi stared at the eeg, watching the crack extend through the metallic texture of the egg.
'Please be a Special Grade...' He prayed silently.
The egg finally shattered open and his Dinosaur came out allowing Levi to get a good view of it.
The announcer shook his head in disappointment, and immediately Levi laid eyes on the creature it was as if he knew what it was.
"Levi Quinn has hatched a Velociraptor— SnatchClaw"
"... Grade Five, Level 1... "
