Chapter 2 - a brief history of the elf kingdom

It's been six years since I've seen that man. Six years since I've died. My mother's have been taking good care of me. The three of them try their best not to let me roam any farther than the west wing of the castle I now know as Castlic Isalic Dragonaur. The home to demons and dragons. "Hoda! It's time for your studies!" Soma, the maid, says loudly from his room. He slowly walked down the long hall, the crimson walls of the west wing clashing with the white marble floor. Since their deep inside a cave-like castle, no windows are anywhere except for a few select areas. At his room, he opens the door, greeted with the smell of lavender, fresh tea and Somas famous blackberry biscuits. She sits curtly on his bed, the white sheets being mixes with the ruffles of her red dress. Her black hair is in an updo, this lands history book in her hand. "Today, why don't we study the construction of the elf kingdom?" She asks, flipping to a certain page. He pulls out his oak chair from his desk and sets in front of her, ready to listen. "In 287, the elf king declared he would leave the northern woods by himself in search of a home for his dying people. The only weapon he took was his deceased sons crossbow that he had made himself. After days of walking and near starvation, he found a clearing between the Vampire border and the Fey kingdom. Rallying his people, he took them back to the location, where they used rare minerals to build their castle and fortify their city. After 67 grueling years, it was finished. Having no son to inherite his kingdom or name, he chose his best warrior. His name was Hollow. That very name was passed through sixty generations of princes, up until the disappearance of the most recent one when he was a child. That was 18 years ago." She finishes, closing the book. Hoda takes out his pen and pocket journal and quickly jots that down. He needs to know this if he is to be a general one day.
