A gir ran thorough a dark and misty forest on night.She ran and she ran;fear was in her eyes,her heart pounding.Each turn she took she found those who hunt for her. She found a gate that was tall and rusty she couldn't climb up but instead she squeezed herself through.Her body went through but her leg was caught by a women. The woman had a frightful grin on her face,she wore a white apron stained with blood, she was darkskinned and her hair was messy. As she had the young girl's leg in her hand snapped it.The let off a loud scream and everything went dark.
Sarah woke up in her room. It was dark,a bit of light shone through the window curtains, she turned towards her alarm clock which was in the opposite direction of where she was sleeping.
"Five-thirty." She said aloud. She got from her bed and took out her phone from the drawer and saw a she a missed call from an unknown caller.
"What? When did this pop up?" Sarah was about to call the number until she saw the date. Second December twenty- twenty- five. Sarah then remembered. "We're supposed to visit grandma Esther today.
Sarah went to her sister,Samantha's, bed and woke her up. Samantha opened one eye and closed it, she then covered a pillow over her head.
Sarah was annoyed by this, She then grabbed the pillow from Samantha and said, "Come on Sam,we have to get ready to see grandma Esther."
"It's today?" Samantha said while sitting upright, "Didn't Miti say we'll go tomorrow?"
Sarah let of a small sigh of irritation and said, "Tomorrow is today. Now follow me we get ready."
The two went into the bathroom. They took their toothbrushes from the cup which was placed near the sink. The two looked at the mirror and began to brush their teeth.
The two are identical twins but the only difference between them is that Sarah has long dark and green eyes while Samantha has rich blonde hair and yellow eyes.
Sarah was in the kitchen cooking breakfast, there were two photos next to her one showed Sraha and Samantha with a man who was dark skinned, tall, had broad shoulders and dark curly hair; The photo was taken when the three were at the mall.
The other photo showed Sarah, Samantha and the man coming out of an orphanage. They were younger in the photo.
Sarah finished making breakfast: three slices of toast with butter smeared on top, cup of juice and beacon on the side. Sarah placed the breakfast on a tray and took it to the living room where she put it on a table.
She then called out, " Miti breakfast is ready."
"I'm on my way just wait a few minutes."
Miti came into the living room and saw the food on the table. He sat down on an arm chair which was next to the table. He prayed for the food and thanked Sarah for preparing it.
"Where's my breakfast?" Samantha came whining in the living room after seeing Miti with his breakfast on the table.
Sarah looked at her with complete annoyance and said in mocking way, " It's on the kitchen counter."
Samantha walked to the kitchen counter and took her breakfast and went back to the living room and and sat on the couch. Samantha then took the T.V remote and turned on the T.V.
The first thing that popped up was a news report. Samantha was about to change the channel until Miti told her not to. A woman sat behind a desk behind was a large flat screen T.V which was showing a mental hospital. The woman then lifted up a bunch of papers and looked directly at the camera.
" A young female by the name Mai Hunter was discovered to have fleed from the Lusaka juvenile detention center," the woman then flipped the page and continued, " It was discovered that she had escaped two weeks ago. The director in charge of the facility had kept this a secret stating that he had everything under control. He is now in the Lusaka prison for suspicion of having assisted the young sixteen year old."
" I've heard of her from class," said Samantha while stuffing her mouth with more toast, " They said that she killed her cousin and an old man who was taking care of her. They say that she has a sister but she hasn't been found yet."
Mai? Sarah thought for a second and remembered her. Then Sarah's face turned pale with fear. Miti noticed her feared expression and asked her what sacres frightens her. Sarah re-assured him saying that everything was fine.
When the three had finished with their breakfast they began to their luggage in the car's trunk. They drove off and soon it became dark. The road their were in was a dark foggy road, on the left side there were trees and on the right had a steep cliff that's led into an open forest.
A car was parked in a T-junction that was facing straight towards the cliff. Samantha and Sarah were in the passenger seat while Miti was driving. Samantha was fast asleep, Sarah took out her phone and and saw the number for the unknown caller. Sarah tried to call them but all she got was a voice message saying that the phone was off. Sarah then called her friend Kelvin.
Kelvin answered the call and greeted Sarah saying, "Hello there Sarah what's up."
" Nothing much," Sarah replied, "What are you doing?"
"Trying to get the high score on fight yaba zed. Are you at your grandma's house yet?"
"No, not yet but we'll be there soon."
As Miti was driving he reached near a turn. Before he could go past it, anotherr car coming from the turn collided with Miti's car pushing the car of the cliff. Everything went dark. Sarah woke up on the floor of a dim lighted room. The walls seemed to be made of wood and there were boxes placed next to the walls. Sarah got up and noticed her left leg was bleeding. Sarah folded up the left leg of her jean trouser. She saw a cut that was on her leg. She looked around and found Samantha in the floor unconscious. Samantha had a scar on the right-side of her head.
Sarah, without hesitation, went to Samantha and shook her awake. Samantha woke up with a puzzled expression on her face. Samantha looks at Sarah and asks her where they are. Sarah shook her head saying, " I wish I knew."
Sarah then noticed that Miti was not in the room with them. Sarah turned to Samantha to ask her Miti's whereabouts but heard a door open from behind her. A large man dressed in a white T shirt and blue jeans came into the room. Sarah stood in front of Samantha and cried out with anger, " Where's Miti?"
The man knelt down on one knee and said, " He is some where that you don't need to worry about. Now tell me your names please."
"Fuck you!" Sarah burst out, "Where is Miti? Where are we? And what do you want from us?"
"My name is Marcus," he said with his voice low and soft, " We are in the Happy place forest park. Don't worry we'll let you after a while."
"How did we get here?"
"My friends found you and your sister and Miti unconscious in a busted up car."
Then a woman came with an apron stained with fresh blood, she had pale skin and a scary smile on her face she came calling for Marcus but Sarah and Samantha's face went pale. Marcus let of a sigh and told Sarah and Samantha to stay put.
The door was closed and locked from the outside. Just like that Sarah and Samantha were filled with fear.
